TODAY'S DEVOTION: Let's get this story straight. Today, as we read through these mysterious passages in Ezekiel and Revelation, it can be easy to lose sight of what the real story is. We hear about Gog and Magog, armies and battles, the lake of fire, and the great serpent—images that are thick with mystery, allegory, and sometimes even confusion. It's tempting, when we see this language of judgment and wrath, to let our hearts fixate on retribution. When we witness injustice or pain in our world, we understandably desire for wrongs to be set right, for evildoers to pay. And if we aren't careful, we can let that longing color how we read God's story—loading mysterious passages with our own longing for vengeance, making God in our own image, a God primarily defined by judgment and retribution. But that isn't the real plot. John, in writing Revelation, tells us that this is “an apocalypse, a revelation of Jesus Christ.” The story is about Him. The Bible is always pointing us to Jesus—the living Word, the One who alone has the words of life. All of Scripture, even the perplexing and cryptic parts, ultimately draw us back to His love and His life. This means we must approach passages like these with humble, reverent caution. Even early Church leaders understood that the book of Revelation was shrouded in mystery—they allowed the book, but advised the church not to use it to build doctrine. They knew that sometimes the cipher, the interpretive key, was lost, and it would be dangerous to presume mastery over God's mysteries. So we come not as know-it-alls, but as listeners with open hands and hearts, asking to hear the voice of Jesus, trusting Him to be the plot and the point. Paul called himself not a master of doctrines, but a servant of Christ and a steward of the mysteries of God. That's our invitation too: not to solve mathematical riddles, but to encounter a living Savior, to let His presence set our hearts on fire as He did for those disciples on the road to Emmaus. To walk with our Rabbi, to be students of His mystery and His love, allowing Him to be the interpretive key for every page. Because Jesus is the unveiling of God. He is the heart and hope of every story. When we hold onto Him as the center, both the clear and the confusing scriptures begin to take on new light. Life in Him is more beautiful and hopeful than we could have dreamed. That's my prayer today—that I will hold fast to this plot, to Jesus our Rabbi. That I'll hear His voice, know His joy, and let His story shape my story. That's the prayer I have for myself, for my family—my wife, my daughters, my son—and that's the prayer I have for you. May it be so. TODAY'S PRAYERS: Loving God, you have knit us together in the body of Christ from every nation and tongue. Make us a vessel of your peace today. Make us a vessel of your peace today. 8/3/2025 Jeremiah 49:35-39 Iran's fall foretold….But Not Til the Gog-Magog War Intro: The prophecy of Jeremiah 49:35-39 to Elam, Persia, which is now Iran…..which the current Iranian Islamic regime threatens, and for all the Iranian people who have been hijacked by the ayatollahs since 1979, and for a restoration of their freedom. Israel recently attacked them with bunker busting bombs that destroyed their ability to make Nuclear weapons…..for awhile anyway. So during this time all these people kept saying that Jeremiah 49 shows us the attack accruing In 2025. I will show you that I don't think it has anything to do with Israel's recent attack. For one reason it did not destroy the current Islamic leadership of Iran. They are still there threatening war and the destruction of Israel. And secondly they must team with Russia and Turkey in a few months (I believe) and begin the Gog-Magog, Ezekiel 38-39 invasion of Israel.

Dr. Alan Kurschner talked about a new preterist view called "Satan's Little Season." It is an amalgam of post-apocalyptic eschatology and Tartarian and Mud Flood conspiracy theories. This new breed of preterists believe that Jesus already physically returned to earth in AD 70 and the physical resurrection already occurred at that time, followed by the earthly millennial kingdom which was completed. So we are all now living during "Satan's Little Season," while Jesus and the saints are in the North Pole hidden away. The church age is entirely over, and we are waiting for that final Gog-Magog battle of Rev 20:8, at which time we will be taken up to heaven where Jesus will destroy the entire world and then we will live in heaven forever. JESUS WARNED US to beware of false prophets and false christs in the last days. We think that a false Gog-Magog war is part of that deception.Why? Prophetically minded Jews are looking for the Messiah at the end of the war described in Ezekiel chapters 38 and 39. There are few scenarios we can imagine that are more evil and insidious than deceiving Jews into welcoming the wrong man as the savior of Israel in a future war as a false Messiah, which is the literal meaning of the Greek word antichristos—the Antichrist.

NEWS HEADLINES are shadows of events in the spirit realm. It's why Paul wrote, “We wrestle not against flesh and blood.”As the world faces the possibility of World War 3, which we believe could be a false fulfillment of the Gog-Magog war of Ezekiel 38 and 39, we take time to look at what's happening in the Middle East, and speculate on the identities of the principalities and powers behind the scenes.We know that Satan leads the end times rebellion, based on Revelation 12, and note that Jesus identified Satan as Baal (Matt. 12:22–26), who was known in Greece and Rome as Zeus and Jupiter. We also believe he's the most likely candidate for the prince of Greece mentioned in Daniel 10.That begs the question: Who is the prince of Persia? Is it Ahura Mazda? Marduk? Are those different names for the same entity? Are they working together, or do they struggle with one another for power while they try to knock God off His throne?Then there is Shemihazah, leader of the Genesis 6 rebellion, who we believe was the entity known to the neighbors of ancient Israel as El, Enlil, and Dagon—and who the Hebrew prophets called Molech. He's the angel of the bottomless pit, which means he gets out for five months (Rev. 9:11). Does he think Satan will hand over his kingdom when he emerges from the abyss?What about Inanna, the woman who rides the Beast? She thinks she controls the Antichrist and his kingdom, but Revelation tells us that the Beast and his ten sub-kings will turn on her and destroy her.And then there is Chaos, or Leviathan. We believe this is the spirit that indwells the human we call Antichrist. He first emerges in Genesis 1:2 (the Hebrew word translated “deep”, tehom, is a cognate for Sumerian Tiamat, their version of Leviathan). Will he be satisfied playing the role of commander-in-chief of Satan's army?

The topic of the "End Times" makes lots of people glaze over, and for good reason. There are a lot of details to work through.
