We all agree there is real and terrible evil out there. Yet there is so little moral consensus on what that evil is. There are so many cries for justice, yet no one can seem to agree on what it looks like and who needs it. We look at politics, and agree it is poisoned, but can't find common ground on who poisoned it. As we look out into the world, we see good guys and bad guys. And maybe that's part of the problem. As we continue our series REORIENTING/RENOVATING, we'll explore a story that Jesus tells meant to disorient us on our view of the good guys/bad guys. #goodguysbadguys #mercy #justice

It's hard to believe A Stitch in Time is Sasha Hadden's first film. He's made two short films and a documentary, and this film cements him as a serious talent and a filmmaker to keep an eye on. Here, Sasha discusses how he developed a passion for filmmaking at a young age thanks to his supportive mother, his love for Australian filmmaking great Bruce Beresford, and how he used this film as a training ground for emerging filmmakers. As a bonus, this episode also includes a ten minute chat with one of the film's stars - veteran Australian actor Belinda Giblin who plays Christine in the film. As one of Australia's most distinguished actors of stage and screen, most of you will know Belinda from her roles in Home and Away, Sons and Daughters, Good Guys Bad Guys, Heartbreak High, The Sullivans and A Country Practice.

Ken Burns and Lynn Novick join Thanh Tan, host of our new podcast Second Wave , to discuss the new documentary, "The Vietnam War."
The story of the Vietnam War has been told many times, but not necessarily by Vietnamese people. When she was growing up, Thanh’s parents didn’t talk about what happened to them. And her school history books glossed over the conflict. Most accounts of the Vietnam War have been defined by Hollywood and white men. Ken Burns and Lynn Novick’s new 10-part documentary, The Vietnam War, challenges common perceptions of the war. In her conversation with the filmmakers, Thanh addresses issues of violence, intergenerational trauma and her personal reactions to the film.
What do gun control & police brutality have in common? Some arguments for both contain the same logical errors.
