The church contends for the ongoing proclamation of the gospel at every stage in history and in every place on the map. At our time and in our place, the most compelling alternative gospel is the progressive gospel. This content engages this other gospel, asking "what is it?" and "why is it compelling?" and "what does Scripture have to say about these things?"

But more than that, Neil is a trusted friend and mentor who has spoken into Jessie's life for over a decade. Learn how to share the gospel! Week 2 of discipleship training
#discipleship #judaism #bible #jesus #disciple #discipleofchrist #baruch #biblestudy #loveisrael #loveisreal #torahobservant #torahclass #church #apostle #pastor Should we rethink discipleship? Are programs and books the way to go, or is learning to study the Bible correctly the best process? How do churches look at discipleship? How do the people in the pews see it? Is there a disconnect? Can you define what discipleship is? What is discipleship in Judaism? The disciples studied under the Lord Jesus Christ. He is their Creator! In effect, He wrote the Bible. We are to learn from Christ's life and the Apostles' teaching. See Acts 2:42.Where do we start, in the church or on your own?Remember. This is His House (the earth and everything in it) and, therefore, His Rules (Bible). His word is His will. 1. Small group for men2. Small group for women3. Co-ed4. Goals of study should be to engage the biblical text by gently showing proper biblical study principles5. Consider using this type of small group bible study as an evangelism tool6. Change the motivation from learning "about the bible" to asking the Lord how to live praiseworthy to Him from the biblical text and what His plans and purposes are for our lives that we glean from the text. Be EQUIPPED to do the work of the Lord. Week 1 of our discipleship training.
We live in an age where the family is viewed primarily as a unit of consumption. Families consume entertainment together, take vacations together, eat out together, and buy gifts for each other on birthdays and holidays. And these are great things to do together. But historically and biblically families were also productive and worked together to create valuable products and services through family households, homesteads, businesses and farms. Families that worked together with a common desire to serve others had unity and were at the foundation of healthy economies. For many of us one of the attractions of agriculture is the ability to do meaningful work together with the people that we love most in life: our family. Fewer and fewer jobs today allow for the participation of multiple ages and generations and agriculture is a space particularly suited for building and investing in relationships. And while this is the intention for many of us, the reality of learning to do this on a daily basis while coming from a culture of fragmentation, efficiency, and production can be challenging. In this episode I speak with Rory Groves, author of the book Durable Trades, about the blessing and challenge of learning to be productive families that work as a team as we learn to listen to and follow Jesus together. As disciples of Christ, we submit all things to Him. This includes what we believe and how we engage in this world. The word of God says a lot about the value of human life and how we are to treat one another. Abortion is common in our nation and our culture is passionate about it. Between the clarity of the word of God and the emphasis of our culture, it is fitting that we take the time to thoroughly think through the implications of our submission to Jesus in regards to abortion. This was recorded during a Discipleship Training session at Exit Church.
