All about pregnancy thus far.
In this episode, a listener sends in a question to Dr. Aimee. Here's what she asks, "My partner and I have been trying to have a child I'm 44 years of age, and my partner is 36. I've had two successful prior pregnancies, and we also lost two pregnancies after conceiving naturally. The losses occurred around weeks 10 and weeks 12. But now I found out that I'm pregnant and after having tested positive for HCG and missed my period by only a few days. Here are my questions. I know that my eggs are old and that this embryo may not hold. Is there a way that a specialist can monitor the early stages of pregnancy to see if this egg is a good or bad one? It's troubling to think that I have to wait for my 10 week mark and possibly miscarry. My partner and I don't want to go through another miscarriage, understanding that I'm in the 8 to 10% chance of having a good egg. Any thoughts on if I should let this one go or write it off given my previous history?" Tune in to my answer and the answer to other listeners questions. Surprise! I'm pregnant! The cat's out of the bag. We're interrupting our Word First Series with this special bonus episode. In it I will highlight our journey the past 4 years of battling infertility, our spiritual journey in the midst of it, how I worked toward holistic healing, how this pregnancy has been thus far, and some fun practicals about how I'm choosing to intentionally nurturing my body and growing baby! At the end I'll share a few Well Women Co updates, important podcast information, and what you can expect from this community moving forward. This episode could be hard for some to hear. I know there are many women standing in the gap of their promise of a child or another child, or perhaps mourning a miscarriage. Feel free to skip this episode and tune into a previous episode if you're not ready. If you find yourself in the wait for a promise to be fulfilled, I'd like to encourage you to tune in. Although I'm sharing of my personal testimony of conception, you will hear helpful encouragement both spiritually and practically to help you find purpose and nurture your faith and body in the wait. "Is This Anything?" is a show where four friends and professional comics (Rob Ryan, Anthony Kapfer, Brett Druck, and Jarret Berenstein) take turns pitching each other their new stand-up joke ideas. From top notch to total duds, each idea gets tagged, punched up, and riffed on until eventually it's something.
I love life-changing stories! This couple has got my attention and respect as they are relentless in loving people and making sure they experience the love of God. It is not an easy journey dealing with pregnancy before marriage. But how do we cope with people and emotions during the process? In memory of Raditya Oloan, I've decided to reshare this episode as it captures his heart! I got into a mind-expanding conversation with him and his wife Joanna Alexandra. I love how they are building a community called MUDA, that is encouraging people to craft and live an authentic life.

Since the 1970's this woman has been wowing the people with her amazing voice and charisma. Chaka Khan helped to bring women of color to the forefront of rock, funk, R&B, you name it, she can do it all. But it wasn't a straightforward path from her childhood that led her to music. It was a rebellious adolescence, the civil rights movement, second wave feminism, countless missteps with drugs and alcohol, and her sense of adventure that has made her the woman she is today. From her time with Rufus to her solo career, she has never let anyone dictate how she will live her life or what music she is to create. All of which has made her the bad ass she is today. He appeared on Broadway dancing behind Rudolph Nureyev and the Joffrey Ballet in Homage to Diaghilev at the Mark Hellinger Theatre. Stan worked in casting before moving to Los Angeles, where he's been part of one of the longest running comedy writing teams, Zimmerman & Berg. Along with James Berg, Stan's worked on many television series, including season one of The Golden Girls, Brothers, Fame, Hooperman, Something Wilder, Roseanne, Wanda at Large and the highly successful fifth season of Gilmore Girls. They penned the "Norman Mailer, I'm Pregnant" episode. Z&B (as they're also known) have 2 WGA nominations to their credit -- "Rose's Mother" from The Golden Girls and the other for "Don't Ask, Don't Tell", the infamous lesbian kiss episode of Roseanne. Besides writing & producing many television pilots, Z&B rewrote the Emmy and Peabody award winning Annie for ABC. They have also written for film, including both Brady Bunch movies. The Brady Bunch Movie was honored by American Cinematheque. The Q&A panel with Jim, Stan, Shelley Long, Gary Cole and director Betty Thomas can be seen on youtube.com. Z&B created and exec produced two seasons of Rita Rocks, a half hour comedy series on Lifetime starring Nicole Sullivan and Tisha Campbell-Martin. They're much talked about new pilot script -- Silver Foxes, a gay men's Golden Girls, had an epic reading with George Takei, Leslie Jordan, Bruce Vilanch, Todd Sherry, Cheri Oteri, Daniele Gaither & Melissa Peterman. Stan conceived, adapted and directed, SUICIDE NOTES: In Their Own Words, which won a Hollywood Fringe Festival 2015 Encore Producers' Award. The show starred Oliva d'Abo, Allie Gonino, Peter Onorati, Brendan Robinson. It's a one hour theatre piece in the vein of The Vagina Monlogoues. There was a benefit/reading of the play, now entitled Right Before I Go, Monday Dec 4 2017 at NYC's Town Hall. The all-star cast included: Ellen Burstyn, Judith Light, Michael Cerveris, Hari Nef, Maulik Pancholy, Alice Ripley, Lois Smith, Amber Tamblyn, Raviv Ullman and Vanessa Williams. A one night benefit of the play was performed at The Ratner Museum in Bethseda, Maryland June 2018 and in Orlando at The Mezz in Sept on International Suicide Prevention Day. Stan performed in the piece as "The Narrator" in Orlando and for a two night engagement at Claremont High School in Oct. That show was performed by high school students, faculty and school board members. He returned to Bethesda July 2019 to perform again, but this time with a mostly teen cast from The Achieve Project. I’ve got something to share with you... As the sunlight grows, so does the little soul inside of me. This is so tender for me to share with you. I feel the fragility of life itself at all times right now. I feel the potential for life and death in every cell. I am intimately living inside of myself and so vulnerable when I am out in the world. I'm pregnant. And with hope in our hearts, our little one will be joining us by summer's end. It's been a deep and dark winter as my body has adjusted to creating life. First trimester nausea, exhaustion, and headaches have been brutal. We've been walking the edge between fear and excitement for months now. But as the sunlight warms our side of the hill, I feel myself rising above the soil with hope in my heart and joy in my body. When you go through something traumatic, naturally you try to avoid putting yourself in a situation to ever experience that trauma again. This was the case for me when it came to being pregnant. I experienced an unusually traumatic birthing experience when I had to deliver my son at 31 weeks. It was so unexpected and so sudden, dealt with the effects of the trauma for over a year later. But as you can tell from the title of this video, my husband and I are expecting our second child in July of 2020. In this video I share a little bit of my birthing experience with my first son and how we came to want to have another child and go through another possible traumatic pregnancy. As I share in this episode, I developed what is called HELLP syndrome during pregnancy. HELLP syndrome is a life-threatening pregnancy complication usually considered to be a variant of preeclampsia, according to the Preeclampsia Foundation (2019). I hope this episode bring encouragement to any women who have gone through something similar or anyone who has gone through something traumatic in their lives and who deals with fear because of it. I know what it is life to be engulfed with fear and not wanting to live life to the fullest because of that fear. I hope my story gives you hope and inspires you to try again. To live your life to the fullest and not let fear keep you bound in the past. ____________________________________________________________________________ You can find me on Instagram @Mrs.Kendra.Sanchez If you want to be friends and hear more from me you can join my friend-list here: https://mailchi.mp/f165cbba5697/coffeewithkendra
