2019 Dec Let there be (Serve Chilled) house!   Served Chilled. Pool house grooves with a hint of Soulful Disco. All tracks except two released in 2019.   Continuing the HedKandi homage with a third session of pool/summer vibe. Won’t sweep you of your feet. Yet, should you let the music play, you will find yourself with a smile, a boobin’ head and shoulders and feeling the summer beats engulf you.   Starts with new remix of Barry White’s anthem soulful jam     The pre-millennials will recognize the HedKandi homage. When CDs were still a thing and labels could make money, compilations such as the HK ones were a must and introduce a whole generation to house in all its forms and iterations. We paid for them, discovered tunes and artists curated by the music directors of the labels.   A very different landscape to the A.I. spotified generated playlists which due to the algorithm merely selects a very narrow sample what you are "supposed" to like.   The “Let there be House” series is my attempt to resurrect the genre with current tunes. There will be about 9 to 10 episodes in the “Let there be House” series, hopefully each with its unique flavour. Joey Chicago, born 1987 in West Germany, has already shown his passion for music and deejaying at early ages. At the age of 15 he made his dream came true and bought t urnt ables wit h t he money he had earned with a holiday job. His first mixtapes contained a lot of disco and house elements. After some years being a party DJ he began producing his own tracks. His music was influenced by the disco and filter house tracks from his early days as a DJ.Now, about 10 years after his first mixtape have passed, he is touring the whole country together with his label mate Skingz to bring unique house music to the clubs. Among other locations he performed at “Hexenhouse” in Bocholt, at “Discohouse is back” in Dinklage,at "Limit Club" in Hameln,at "Cafe Europa" in Bielefeld and even in the “Nightingale Lounge” in New York City (USA). On top of that he is the resident DJ of the popular party series “Robotrock meets Elektrofon” in Guetersloh. Also as a producer he has achieved a lot in the past years.He has released tracks and remixes with labels like Discogalaxy/Secret Service, A45, Kraak Records, Banging Grooves, Bid Muzik,Nocturnal Records,Stardust Records and Groove Traxx. For the final mix of 2013 a bit of an eclectic of tracks. I'll admit it was quite a challenge this month. Tough finding tracks I really liked and more importantly, tracks that would work well together into a cohesive mix. I think I ended up getting like 35 new tracks and left a bunch of them out because I just wasn't feeling them for this mix.
