The false teacher for this week is Jacqui Lewis. A very popular false teacher on Twitter and the person that Jory Micah really wants to be.
I do not know how to title a wide ranging program like today's- We discussed the Buttigieg adoption scandal, Jory Micah's racism, the amazing crash of Ivermectin from 2015 Nobel Prize winning drug to 2021 horse-dewormer, and then a lengthy discussion of medical exemptions, including the statement Apologia Church has produced on the topic. I also read through an attack upon Christian conscience on the topic and responded to its many errors.
After the recent episode with pastor Brian Sauve titled Why Should Christians Care About Modesty?, we started to see quite a bit of feedback on Twitter. Brian, especially, hit the hornet's nest with a well-aimed tweet. Soon, Thabiti (Ron Burns) got involved, as did Kyle J. Howard and Beth Moore. Jory Micah, Jacob Denhollander, and others started tweeting about modesty. In this episode, Brian, Dan Berkholder, and Eric Conn break it all down, including the major tactics of the left and how you can disarm them, what it means to be a White Knight, and why women's sin's can never be addressed.Show Notes: Brian Sauve on Twitter Eric Conn on Twitter Dan Berkholder on Twitter Photo by Ehimetalor Akhere Unuabona on Unsplash
On this episode Malynda chats with writer, preacher and advocate Jory Micah. The two talk all things religion. They address hypocrisy in the church, progressive Christianity, deconstruction, what Jesus really stood for and her upcoming book Breaking the Glass Steeple. Jory Micah is a writer, preacher and advocate for women in the global Christian Church. She has a Master's Degree in Christian Doctrine and History from Regent University in Virginia Beach and will be releasing her first book this fall.

Today's guest, Brant Hansen, wrote a book called “Unoffendable.” He suggests that the idea of having “righteous anger” is a myth and not biblical. There's much peace to be found by recognizing the jacked up state of this world and adjusting expectations accordingly. And it's the right way, according to Brant. Guest co-host Jory Micah provides some valuable pushback to round out the discussion. What about Jesus flipping tables? What about the pissed off prophets? What about the mother of an innocently slain child? At the beginning of the episode, Ellen Mauro, Jack Hoey III and Joey discuss ableism as Joey thinks society as a whole is way too sensitive about the use of words. So Jory Micah says she will be more than happy to send the FBI after me -and Johnny Mac and Doug Wilson-not sure how I got top billing, but I know Doug is wondering, too- for promoting -hate- amongst young men -I think she was trying to blame me for the Atlanta area sex addiction shooter, but as with all things Jory Micah, it is hard to know-. But others, like Anthony Bradley and Jemar Tisby had to jump on the -blame it to promote the narrative- bandwagon as well. Which led to us listening to Ally Henny of The Witness -preaching- about how blacks need to leave their mixed-race churches and self-segregate, all on the basis of refusing to forgive, but rather choosing to nourish and encourage a root of bitterness in their souls. An amazing -sermon- indeed.

What’s a Christian’s responsibility for political advocacy and involvement? Why is “church” becoming less and less relevant to the younger generation? What does “Christian” even mean anymore? Should we go ahead and ditch that word? Non-violence, the problem with wealth, social salvation, best-selling author and activist, Shane Claiborne, touches on it all. At top of episode, Joey, John Mark McMillan and Jory Micah discuss toxic polarization and “good people” who voted for Donald Trump. At the top of episode, Joey, Jory Micah, and John Mark McMillan continue their discussion, today it’s about the impatience, intolerance and religiosity of some progressive Christians. Jory Micah learned about these folks the hard way. Today’s guest spot is Nate Henry (some of you know him as the lead singer of Sherwood) sharing his newer revelations of how clear the bible supports a narrative of demonic/human hybrids (Nephilim). Would open-mindedness and slowing down to consider scripture through these lenses wipe out the stigmatization of a “Nephilim narrative?” What if this narrative even answered a lot of questions and surfaced a consistency of scripture we don’t currently have? At the top of the episode, Joey, Jory Micah, and John Mark McMillan continue their discussion on progressive theology, including how progressive the bible (and the Apostle Paul) is. Today’s guest, Father Wesley Walker, is an Anglo-Catholic Priest and host of the Sacramentalists Podcast where a recent episode released posed logical critiques of evangelical churches and progressive theology. Joey found some of these critiques a bit short-sighted and unfair, thus prompting today’s conversation with his friend Father Wesley. Various topics and questions addressed include whether evangelicals’ scripture interpretation is second-rate, whether progressives are sincere in their pursuit for spiritual truth. Do evangelical church systems seek to keep people as spiritual infants to maintain control? Do those in the progressive theology camps excessively celebrates doubt? We also discuss spiritual experience, the bible’s ability(or disability)to connect with modern culture, how scripture gets its authority in the first place, what that authority is, and whether every one picks and chooses how they interact with the Bible. At the top of the episode, Jory Micah, John Mark McMillan, and Joey discuss the level of importance that spiritual experience is to their faith. In our interview with Kat Armas (theologian, author and podcast host of The Protagonistas Podcast), she recounts her journey out of Evangelicalism and introduces us to the beautiful picture of "Abuelita (Grandmother) Theology." Speaking on the Bible as culturally written by men and for men, Kat shows us how easy it is to overlook the great faith of women in the bible, some of whom are completely unnamed. The question also begs to be asked that in our every day life, are the greatest theologians we've ever known those we'd never consider theologians in the first place? We also discuss a myriad of other topics including her journey out of American evangelicalism, pronouns for God, maltreatment of women in the bible, and how the "Good Book," while it strengthens our faith, our love for God and humanity, can (and maybe should) also cause lament, anguish and wrestling in our hearts. Criminalize Abortion AND Homosexuality? On this episode of Polemics Report for April 18, 2019, JD discusses three articles from Reformation Charlotte. First, Jory Micah says that if God is a man she won't worship him. Secondly, a prominent Southern Baptist supports a "pro-life" legislator who scuttled an abortion abolition bill. Third, Jeff Maples says we should criminalize homosexuality. Is he wrong? If so, why and what is your foundation for determining just laws? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ytYnCnigbLQ
As former misogynists raised by misogynists, how can our male hosts overcome the gender divide? Listen and learn.
Today's episode is heavy on theology and not really much else: 1 Corinthians, Jory Micah and the inspiration of Scripture, and just what the heck is "Subordinationism"? Influential blogger and writer, Jory Micah was fired from her college teaching job for as a result of her controversial feminist views. She is angered by the church’s discrimination against female leadership and how that prevents many from being who God has made them to be. She also doesn’t believe in a marital submission that is unique to wives. Potentially even more interesting is her celebration of gender uniqueness. Men and women both have strengths and weaknesses that are typically common for their gender. This feminist may just piss off the feminists. On this episode of Apologia Radio we discuss the recent news surrounding the rising star (fallen star?) of the Conservative movement: Milo Yiannopoulos. Audio and video footage was found of Milo discussing “healthy” relationships between grown men and young(ish) boys. Some of the conversation is too graphic to write about here. The fallout, after the release of the audio, was tremendous. Shortly after, Milo resigned from Breitbart and his publishing company cancelled his book deal. We talk about the situation and we point to the inconsistency inherent in the modern Conservative movement. We also spend some time reviewing an article made by a barely-known (but vocal) “Christian” Feminist by the name of Jory Micah. Jory has a reputation for not-so-critical and not-so-Biblical thinking and wrote a blog criticizing Jeff Durbin and anyone who wants to call circles, circles (abortion is murder, women need to repent of abortion, etc.). We hope this blesses you as much as it blessed us making it! Writer, blogger, teacher and ministry leader Jory Micah joins the show to discuss Christian egalitarianism.
***REBROADCAST**** Several months ago, I started following a blog by a woman named Jory Micah. I wasn't sure what to expect as I was led there by a guest blogger who talked about the problem with the evangelical purity movement in the church. Since I started following Jory's blog, my brain has been opened to new ideas and concepts about a woman's place in the body of Christ. Some may view her blog a Christian feminist blog and that usually gives the idea of women burning their bras and running out in the street bare-chested in the name of equality. Yet, the more I followed her blog, I started to have my ideas of about where women stood in the body of Christ challenged. At the very least, she made me rethink some of my preconceptions about gender roles as I've been taught from knee high to adulthood. Jory is one of the many people working to break the glass steeple in the Church -- or rather, fight for gender equality. Join me for a fascinating discussion on this important topic. Perhaps you'll have the same mind blowing thoughts I had as I read through hers and her other guest discourses about equality among the body of Christ. Jory Micah joins me today to share her own story, and discuss the important issue of gender inequality in the church today. We discuss her own vision, and what gender equality looks like for Jory in her day to day life, marriage and church. Jory then shares some practical steps we can take against patriarchy in our own churches or Christian communities, understanding the different perspectives on this issue, and finally offers genuine hope to those who are in the midst of this struggle in their own communities. Jory has such a passion & heart for this subject, and those who suffer as a result of patriarchy in the church and culture, and it really shines through in our conversation. It's really worth a listen. ***** Jory blogs about this issue regularly at her site JoryMicah.com & is currently writing a book on this subject. You can follow her on Twitter at @JoryMicah
On Win's Women of Wisdom today, Best-Selling Author, Win Kelly Charles welcomes Jory Micah. Jory a dreamer. Years ago Jory had a dream that she believe was from God, but she did not fully understand it until she began this blog in 2014. Jory is working on her first book right now and she will share all the details of this dream in the first chapter, but what she want you to know is that if you are a woman who has felt limited or oppressed by the Christian Church in anyway, YOU were in my dream and there is freedom for you. There is something deeply profound happening in the spiritual realm at this very moment. It is difficult to see because of how the Church has wounded our souls as women and men, but we must remember that we wage not against flesh and blood, but against the enemy of the unseen world. The body of Christ will thrive as daughters and sons of God once again, fully equal in both worth & authority, but we must be brave enough to buck against a broken system. God is forming an army of both women and men who are no longer blind and see clearly the damage that patriarchy has caused the body of Christ. Most of us are not typical soldiers, we tremble in fear, we are weary from past battles, doubt our own intelligence and abilities; however, this is precisely why God has chosen us to fight and we can rest assured that we will win this battle. God always chooses people who others deem as foolish to confound the wise and small soldiers to take down massive giants. No doubt, patriarchy in the Christian Church is a beast and won’t go down easily, but if God is for us who can be against us? Jory wholeheartedly believe that the Bible is the written Word of God and should hold the final authority in every Christian’s life, but she believe many humans have misinterpreted the message of the Bible concerning women. As author Carolyn Custis James puts it, “Patriarchy is not the Bible’s message. Patriarchy is the backdrop to the Bible’s message.” Patriarchy is a result of the fall of mankind (Genesis 3:16) and Jesus came to earth to set us free from the consequences of the fall. Jory’s top mission is to help women shake off the chains of limitation and the shackles of oppression that the Christian Church has wrapped around them in the name of the Bible and stale religion. Her goal is to see women universally embraced as church leaders – elders, lead-pastors, evangelists, Bible-teachers, apostles, worship leaders, and every leadership position that both lay women and ordained ministers can dream up with God. Jory is also advocating for women to be given equal authority in their homes, as she believe Christ promoted gender equality. Essentially, Jory is campaigning for Christian women to be given “equal opportunity” to lead in the Church and the home, as sh believe this is the Will of God and what the Bible teaches when read in proper context. When Jory is not smashing patriarchy, she also enjoy writing Christian responses to current events, advocating for social justice and inspiring people to know Jesus more deeply. As a part of Jory’s ministry here online, she want to give a variety of Christian women and men a platform. She want to make it clear, however, that she do not necessarily agree with all of their stances on Scripture and Christian Ethics. Jory do respect their opinions and feel we can gain insight from those who may differ from ourselves. Jory is always leery of listing personal achievements, but her mom has told her that she must. Jory was named as one of the top 10 female bloggers by the 5th highest ranking blog in the Christian industry, “Beyond Evangelical” – the personal blog of Frank Viola.
