It can be hard to do what's best for yourself. It takes time, hope, and a whole lot of courage to make the leap toward a more fulfilling life. My recent guest on the Divorce Doctor Podcast shows us a beautiful example of what it takes to show up for yourself. “Joyologist” Tricia Huffman is on a mission to inspire you to claim your joy and own who you are.  While living out her first dream as a touring sound engineer, she saw that everyone, including the people we think “have it all” often still don't feel fulfilled enough and fight doubts, fears, and worries everyday. With her unique background and knowledge in self-care and wellness, and the entertainment world, she first created her “Joyology” to keep artists healthy, grounded and inspired in body and mind while on tour. She works with everyone from Grammy Award winning artists to stay at home moms, to become and commit to the person they know they are capable of being deep down and keep them in integrity with who they want to be in the world and most importantly for themselves. In this episode, Tricia and I discussed the experience of coming to terms with the fact that someone who you really love may not always be the right match for you, and how to find the courage to believe in yourself.   Learn more about Tricia by visiting her website at https://yourjoyologist.com/

In today's news episode Cannadave and Groovee of MiCannaCast visit a new provisioning shop in Centerline Michigan called Joyology. They have several other shops throughout the state of Michigan. We are excited to announce that Michigan is finally moving forward on Cannabis related expungement from records misdemeanors or up to 3 felonies related to cannabis. New Mexico is the 17th State to join the Adult-Use Club here in the United States which is huge for the cannabis movement. Also, an American is facing prison time in Dubai for having cannabis found in his urine. These are the many topics on today's new episode. Enjoy and let us know how you feel on any of these topics in the comments below! Joyology They have 8 shops including the one in Centerline that we visited this past weekend. We had a great budtender Aj aka bobbles who has been a fan and follow us from the beginning. He showed us around the shop and all the products they have. First off they have tons of variety from Flower, Dabs, Edibles, & even prerolls. What we mean by this is they have more than one or two brands multiple and all at good price points. The variety and deals of Joyology are what stood out to Cannadave & Groovee on their first trip to Joyology. I can't wait for the adult-use in Centerline it will be huge for the city and the shop because of what they can offer and have. We look forward to stopping in their other locations but if you are near one of their stores you should stop in. Expungement in Michigan The Clean State Bill signed last Oct by Governor Whitmer is finally going into effect now. You can now apply to have some of your Misdemneors or felonies taking off of your record. We have provided the link here https://www.michigan.gov/ag/0,4534,7-359-82917_104464_104524---,00.html?fbclid=IwAR0K09wh4q7R5yzG210E6sbidRolHvwhYYKJHcZhmW1Pr__yF0jMoBaXl-0 and the full article is here from the metro times https://www.metrotimes.com/detroit/heres-how-you-can-get-your-marijuana-related-criminal-convictions-expunged-in-michigan/Content?oid=26885161 This is another huge step forward for the cannabis community especially here in Michigan. We still have people in jail for nonviolent marijuana charges and they need to be let free. This is our biggest thing because if the state is gathering tax revenue from medical and adult-use let them out we are making money off a plant that now is legal. It also shows that we're making cannabis reform by letting people get these charges off their record. We are glad we saw this finally happen!! New Mexico The 17th state to join the adult-use cannabis club in New Mexico. It's exciting to see all these states in the last week legalize cannabis and move forward with this and stop the war on drugs that has failed miserably in the past years. New Mexico joins Virginia, New York, New Jersey as states that just legalized in the last couple of weeks. They won't have adult-use sales until 2022 but they do have Home Grows which is huge. Anyone in New Mexico can grow 6 plants 21 and up but if you live in a household of 2 or more you can have a maximum of 12 Plants growing in the house. It's great to see another state allow home grows when New Jersey just legalized and they passed on the home grow part. Tune in this Saturday for our Wake N Bake Live at 9 am. This week, Ben and Vinnie Celani, co-founders of High Life Farms, discuss their operations in California and Michigan — and continued expansion. The brothers take a divide-and-conquer approach to operations, with Vinnie overseeing sales and marketing and Ben leading the cultivation side of the multi-state operator (MSO).High Life primarily conducts cultivation, manufacturing and distribution in California, while its Michigan operations are more vertically integrated.Upon founding the business, High Life grew rapidly. In Michigan, the company grows flower and produces edibles, working closely with partners at Wana and Kiva on product development. The company currently has 150 employees and plans to add more than 50 more jobs by the end of 2021.In California, cultivation is the focus, with another 75 employees working toward the company's white-labeling and contract manufacturing efforts.According to Ben, most of the equipment in Michigan and California is the same, with a few differences as a result of climate variations: the weather in Chesaning, Michigan, is a bit different than in Desert Hot Springs, California.Vinnie admits that High Life tried to expand too quickly. The company previously had operations in Colorado, but they decided to leave the already established market for better opportunities in California and Michigan. While they were selling in Colorado, they were ramping up in California and Michigan, and Ben admits that they bit off more than they could chew. However, the growing pains helped the brothers become more methodical, building the business piece-by-piece.Many of the early challenges were solved by trial and error, and many late nights fixing problems with HVAC systems and irrigation. Cannabis leaves very little room for error. High Life remains privately held and self-funded. Although making things work is more difficult on their own dime, it allowed the brothers to stay nimble and make quick, strategic decisions. Ben describes the Michigan side of the business as “medium” vertically integrated as a result of a 50/50 partnership with Joyology dispensaries. High Life has big plans for the Michigan market, including 30 new dispensaries by the end of this year and 60 within the next 24 months. The big opportunity in Michigan is edibles. The company saw seasonal trends with the flower market that haven't translated to edibles. High Life is currently producing 80,000 gummie 10-packs every day, all hand-mixed and handmade over two shifts. The company is also cultivating about 50-55 pounds per square foot over 250,000 sq-ft of grow space, hand trimming about 80% of the crop. So far, the record harvest has been about 290 pounds, but new greenhouses coming online in Michigan (with the first harvest scheduled for April) will reach 450 to 500 pounds per harvest, with 15 harvests expected per year. The market opportunity will only continue to expand, particularly with the onset of federal legalization. Vinnie optimistically predicts legalization at the federal level within the next 24 months, although he admits that it faces many hurdles. The company will also continue to expand white-labeling efforts and strategic partnerships in California. For Vinnie, it's a point of pride to be able to walk into a dispensary and see High Life's flower sold under five to 10 different brands. As for the future, Ben argues that "Big Cannabis" is coming, and large operators like High Life are necessary to keep quality cannabis in the game — and make sure that consumers receive a quality product. The Cannabis Equipment News Podcast is an interview series with growers, processors, manufacturers, distributors and other professionals who work within the legal

“We cannot cure the world of sorrows, but we can choose to live in joy.” —Joseph Campbell We're back for season three and kicking it off strong!  New intro, new outro and a great line up of guests....starting off with Steve Wilson! Steve and I have a great conversation about his journey from psychologist to Joyologist and what joyology is all about.  He shares some history about how far therapeutic humor has come and how far we have to go.  I know you'll dig it as much as I did! Also, I must give a big SHOUT OUT to my brother, Pete Lutz, for re-doing the intro/outro for me.  He has his own podcast called the Narada Audio Radio Drama.  If you like old time radio shows, check it out on iTunes here! ENJOY! More on Steve... World Laughter Tour, Inc., is the brainchild of psychologist and self-proclaimed “Joyologist” Steve Wilson, who describes his role as “Cheerman of The Bored.” The creation of World Laughter Tour was an idea that came to him during a 1998 lecture tour to India, after participating in the Juhu Beach Laughter Club at the Arabian seaside in Mumbai. In India, Laughter clubs were referred to as ‘Hasya Yoga’. Nevertheless, for Steve Wilson, this first introduction was the spark to initiate a clear vision of bringing Laughter Clubs to the United States, of course with certain adaptations to suit the Western mentality. As he imagined, certain laughter and attitudinal practices could be systematized and taught as a means to influence health and peace, while promoting happiness and longevity. Hence, he sought out to connect with these gurus, recognizing the enormous potential that existed in applying a systematic approach to laughing without using jokes, under the guidance of a trained leader and motivator. Struck by a noble impulse, Steve flew an Indian physician to the United States, whereupon he delivered a series of lectures and demonstrations. The reaction to a laughter exercise program in the U.S. was both startling and telling, growing instant curiosity and support from the participants and the media. With the encouragement of his wife, Pamela, the World Laughter Tour was officially launched in July of 1998. It took about a year to put together the first laughter tour in the USA. Thanks to the generosity and sponsorship of Dr. Valeriana Moeller, president of Columbus State Community College, The World Laughter Tour had a very successful kickoff on May 27, 1999 in Columbus, Ohio. The tour traveled to 14 cities for the next 7 weeks, demonstrating the method to diverse audiences. Since its inception, World Laughter Tour has been recognized as a significant global influence in the practical applications of laughter and humor for health and world peace. Steve Wilson is a very popular and talented Certified Speaking Professional, experienced educator of mental health professionals, member of key professional organizations such as Association for Applied and Therapeutic Humor (AATH), International Society for Humor Studies (ISHS), and the American Humor Studies Association (AHSA), as well as having been the 2010 recipient of the Doug Fletcher Lifetime Achievement Award, and Rire d’Or Golden Laughter Award in 2007 from the French School of Laughter and Well-Being. He still maintains a very active presence in WLT and will often answer phone calls and inquiries, as well as making himself available to trainees, attendees, the media, or other interested parties who wish to speak with him personally. She is now a mom of two little girls and works with everyone from Grammy Award winning artists to stay at home moms, to become and commit to the person they know they are capable of being deep down and keep them in integrity with who they want to be in the world, for themselves, and for their families.  While this coversation starts with a little bit of a venting session on both our parts, I decided to keep it in because I think it's a GREAT example of productive venting, which is quite different from aimless complaining. Bitching about social media is becoming a "thing" ON social media (lol, the irony), however a lot of what I read simply talks about how annoying and tiring it all is...and places blame on everyone else for the rules we're supposed to follow. But really...who tells us we are "supposed" to follow them? Nope, no one but ourselves. Which leads me to my absolute FAVORITE part of this interview with Tricia: where we dive in and dig deep about how to distance ourselves from our need for validation, and how to take accountability and responsibility even when we feel something is entirely someone else's fault. Tricia knows how it feels to be resistant, and she knows what it means to OWN YOUR AWESOME. But she didn't get there without getting real with herself and examining what was actually getting in her way. Take a listen and let me know what you think! ***we do use a good deal of salty language in this episode*** _______________________________________________ Show Notes: Your Joyologist @yourjoyologist @beingtricia Facebook Own Your Awesome app The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Liked this epiosde and everything WANT is throwing down? Have you ever experienced having all your dreams come true, only to find they weren't all that fulfilling? Many people have through history. So what's the answer? Join us as we explore this important topic with Tricia Huffman. As soon Tricia found out her father had passed, she had an overwhelming urge to do more with her life. She wanted everyone, everywhere, to love the life they are leading, no matter what they are doing and no matter where they are. She didn't know where life was leading her, but she pursued what made her happy and healthy. She healed and transformed herself during this time and it radiated to her community of family and friends, who were inspired that she listened to herself and took the time to pause my life to take care of herself. This eventually led her to develop her own philosophy of Joyology, something many people have found deeply inspiring throughout the years.   Special Guest: Tricia Huffman http://www.yourjoyologist.com/   Creator & Host: Ashton Szabo www.anatomyofliving.com   Sound Engineer: Zach Cooper   Producer: Benn Mendelson www.sivanaspirit.com www.sivanapodcast.com   Enter to win our weekly contests at: www.sivanaspirit.com/contest/
