Welcome Friends and thank you for connecting with us for another wonderful episode of CWC!As the kid who has always had the drive and passion for music, from listening to NPR to singing many solos in the school choir, Sam Ferrara has made music a significant part of her life. Beginning with her voice and piano, she quickly realized she had a knack for instruments and learned the clarinet, alto saxophone, and her favorite, bass clarinet - just to name a few. Finding her stride in high school and college, these pieces of her story helped develop her into the musician she is today. Sam is all about impacting and inspiring others. During a low point in her life, a stranger told her to “go and take her life back” and that was just the boost she needed to go after her dreams. Sam hit the ground running, releasing her songs “Whiskey Memory” and “Get Out of My Town (featuring Amanda McCarthy)” in 2022. The sassy and powerful lyrics of those songs encourage her audience to be not only open with how they feel, but to also stand up for themselves. Sam also hopes that her stories will help her audience to understand her personal journey, too. A few memorable career highlights for Sam include performing at venues such as Madison Square Garden, Barclay Center, off-Broadway at Symphony Space and The Hobby Center for the Performing Arts in Houston, TX. In addition, Sam also traveled to Europe to perform shows in 2010 and 2012 and has performed at legendary venues like The Cutting Room in New York City, The Bluebird Cafe and The Listening Room in Nashville, TN. She has opened for artists such as Kalie Shorr, Honey Country and Lauren Davidson and she looks forward to growing that list. Her debut album “Piece of Me” was released on July 28, 2023 and is a culmination of the pieces of her journey throughout the last 8 years. Sam feels that the delivery of "Piece of Me" will be the moment where she can finally be seen for who she truly is. This is only the beginning of Sam's story and the best is yet to come!Follow Sam for the latest in Music and More https://www.samferraramusic.com/ --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/crazywomencountry/support

Cora Jane is from a small town in upstate NY and now lives in Nashville after doing time in LA. She has always loved singing, and music in general and was obsessed with Brenda Lee growing up and wanted to be her (she met her when she was 13). She went to Bard College for Art History where she was awarded a vocal scholarship, which allowed her to work closely with voice teacher Arthur Burrows. Cora also taught herself to play guitar her senior year, which was really serendipitous. After school, she played in a band with her parents and did local farmers markets and cafés. A few years later, she pushed herself to try and write songs and fell in love with the challenge of making something equal parts meaningful, candid and catchy. She took a few classes at the Songwriting School of Los Angeles in Burbank, where her teacher, Kevin Fisher, became a co-writer and friend, helping her pen my first release Growing Pains.Cora got her first official songwriting cut with Lying to Myself on Kalie Shorr's record, Open Book: Unabridged, which was a Rolling Stone Country Music Pick. Aside from music, she loves people, beer, exploring historic places and weird towns, hanging out, talking about life/the universe, shopping and finally learning piano.https://www.cora-jane.com/https://www.instagram.com/corajane/https://open.spotify.com/artist/0S5EZgJ5Prm8HZzHYXiNxM?si=JSodEl14QNaB9zPZ6TGjMA&nd=1https://soundcloud.com/cora-janeHost - Trey MitchellIG - treymitchellphotographyIG - feeding_the_senses_unsensoredFB - facebook.com/profile.php?id=100074368084848Sponsorship Information - ftsunashville@gmail.comTheme Song - Damien HorneTake It From Me @damienhorne
The guys welcome back Repeat Revisitors Kalie Shorr (previous episode - Alanis' "Jagged Little Pill") & Craig Manning (previous episode - The Gaslight Anthem's "The '59 Sound) to talk about the Third Eye Blind debut (1997). Plenty of other discussion including band in-fighting, liking only “Jumper” means no second date, aqua lube, TLC, Butch Walker, the weird landscape of music in 1997, and more. And, is there a better three song end to an album over this album? I suggested "Automatic For the People" and I could make a case for "Dark Side of the Moon." This one was fun. And, this is just the beginning. We'll be doing 3EB's "Blue" and maybe even "Out of the Vein" sometime soon.Check out Kalie Shorr at: https://orcd.co/igotherebyaccidentCheck out Third Eye Blind at: https://www.thirdeyeblind.com/Check out Craig Manning at: https://twitter.com/FurtherFromSkyCheck out other episodes at RecordsRevisitedPodcast.com, Apple Podcasts, Stitcher, Castbox, iHeartMedia, Google Podcasts and Spotify. Kalie Shore has had her fair share of unplanned spontaneity, and frankly a lot of it has been tragic. Kalie Shorr is basically the 2018 version of Taylor Swift .... sweet, clever songwriter, adorable, and great with a guitar! One of the things I really like about Kalie is how much she wants to see other females in the country music industry succeed. She's the type of girl that you don't have to question her motive when she's talking about you. She is genuine, and I wish her only the best with her career!
Kalie Shorr has been carving out a name for herself since moving to Music City five years ago . . . and she hasn't let a little thing like the lack of a record deal stand in her way. Since 2016, Kalie has released three EPs, and as one of the co-founders of the all-female, singer-songwriter collective Song Suffragettes, the talented 24-year-old has been an incredible champion for women, not only in country music, but in all genres. The group's 2018 song, "Times Up," which Kalie co-wrote, addresses issues of gender inequality and sexual misconduct in relation to the #MeToo movement. We talk about Kalie's journey, shocking ways she's been told "no" in the industry, her music and so much more. Hope you enjoy! Kalie Shorr has never known a day where writing and singing music wasn’t her goal, and she has worked hard and remained focused to get to where she is today. Having worked with The Backstreet Boys, Perez Hilton and trained with Reba McEntire, Kalie attributes her sound, lyrics and love for 90s pop music to early influences such as the Dixie Chicks, Michelle Branch and TLC. In episode 72 of Nashville Hits Collecting Dust, We discuss her passion and drive for music, and you won’t want to miss what she would tell her younger self. Kalie performs her unreleased song, “Awake,” about being an ex-boyfriend’s shoulder to cry on. Don’t miss Kalie Shorr on NHCD.
Hi listeners and welcome to a special edition of Weekdays with Murph. Today on the show, we have super talented singer/songwriter Kalie Shorr joining us. We'll talk with Kalie about her career, music and anything she's working on that she can talk about. As usual, I have my lovely co-host Em with me, so let's do it!
