This week on Diving In Deep with Sara Evans! Sara welcomes Levi Hummon, the talented son of renowned songwriter Marcus Hummon. In this engaging conversation, Levi shares his journey in the music industry, from his early days in Nashville to his recent successes, including his hit song "Paying For It" featuring Walker Hayes.Discover the challenges and triumphs of trying to make it as an artist in today's ever-changing music landscape. Levi opens up about his experiences with record deals, the importance of social media, and the influence of his family, including his mother, Becca Stevens, who runs the impactful organization Thistle Farms.Tune in as they discuss songwriting, collaboration, and the unique bond between Levi and his father, Marcus. Plus, get a glimpse into Levi's personal life as he shares exciting news about his upcoming wedding!Listen to Unbroke: (https://ffm.to/seunbroke). About Levi Hummon:Singer-songwriter Levi Hummon spent his early 20s practicing his art, but his immersion into country music started much, much earlier. From the day he was born, his father Marcus Hummon, (one of Nashville's most prolific GRAMMY-winning songwriters [The Dixie Chicks, Tim McGraw, Rascal Flatts]) immersed Levi in the music scene, and It didn't take long to realize the apple didn't fall far from the tree. At 24, Levi began releasing music of his own. Cleancut and compelling, he told stories of love and loss while building a loyal fanbase that has grown with him through every bend and break. As a Nashville native who was inspired by the legacies around him and had an undeniable gift of songwriting, it was no surprise that 5 years, 30 released songs, and 100 million streams later as an independent artist, Levi had created a name for himself. In 2021, his viral Walker Hayes collaboration sensation “Paying for It” cemented Levi's status as a rising country star. This sparked a new sense of confidence both on stage and in writing rooms that allowed him to discover the magnitude of his potential as an artist, and a new authentic version of Levi emerged. His follow-up tunes, “Bottled Up,” “For Me,” “Good Riddance,” and “Drink On” are the product of just that. Hummon says, “taking risks, finding my own voice, and showing the scars and roughness around the edges allowed me to portray the most honest version of myself”. Coming off of his first headlining tour in the Fall of ‘21, Levi found himself to be in high demand in the spring and summer of 2022. Warming up the stage for acts like Hardy, Jordan Davis, Brett Eldridge, Brett Young, and Dylan Scott, he was able to experience in person the effects of this momentum and the reward for being unapologetically himself. While listeners across genres are creating the demand now more than ever for both a 90's country comeback and an early 2000's alternative rock revival, Levi's new music has established a unique lane paved by boLET'S BE SOCIAL:Follow Levi Hummon:Instagram – (@levihummon)TikTok – (@levihummon)Facebook – (@levihummon)Website -- levihummon.comFollow Diving in Deep Podcast:Instagram –(@divingindeeppod)TikTok – (@divingindeeppod)Twitter – (@divingindeeppod)Facebook – (@divingindeeppod)Follow Sara Evans: Instagram – (@saraevansmusic)TikTok – (@saraevansmusic)Twitter – (@saraevansmusic)Facebook – (@saraevansmusic)Produced and Edited by: The Cast Collective (Nashville, TN)YouTube – ( @TheCastCollective

Hour 1 We don't normally get breaking news this early, but Ian Rapoport is saying that Aaron Glenn is meeting with the Jets today and they will not let him out of the building without a contract. Gio wanted somebody with head coaching experience. Boomer thinks Glenn will be a great head coach, but the Jets are in a whole different situation. How much of the Lions success is on Glenn? There's Dan Campbell, the offensive genius of Ben Johnson, and great drafts by the GM. Ben Johnson is going to the Bears, who are in the Lions division of course. Who will be a part of Glenn's coaching staff? Gio is not excited with the choice as he doesn't want another first time head coach here. Gio thinks if he was never on the Jets, he wouldn't even be considered. Boomer said maybe somebody with experience doesn't want to come to the Jets. Chris Spielman could be a GM candidate, and he has zero experience in that role as well. C-Lo is in for Jerry and here for his first update of the day and starts with Aaron Glenn on a podcast talking about an interaction with Bill Parcells. We heard the sounds of Ohio State beating Notre Dame for the National Championship. The Knicks beat the Hawks at MSG. We also talked about Italian Lizards on Long Island and how they got there. C-Lo returns for an update, but first we talked more about Peter Schwartz being the GM of the Long Island team in some new arena football league. The Jets are most likely signing Aaron Glenn after interviewing him today. Players are said to be excited at the prospect of Glann as head coach. Chris Simms, like Boomer, didn't like the throw from Lamar Jackson to Mark Andrews. Bill Belichick said the Ravens beat themselves. ‘You can't win til you can keep from losing' is what Tom Brady said (an old Belichick saying). In the final segment of the hour, Peter Schwartz joins us on the phone to talk about being the GM of the Long Island team of the new arena league. Hour 4 The Jets are interviewing Aaron Glenn and Lance Newmark and will most likely hire them as head coach and GM. How can hospitality and kindness be a conduit for life-transforming change? What can happen when we open our hearts and homes to those in need of hope? Craig Cooper was a church planting pastor when his path crossed with a struggling Nashville musician named Walker Hayes. Walker was a self-proclaimed atheist and an alcoholic who lost a record deal and was struggling to make ends meet. Craig and his whole family welcomed Walker and his family into their lives. Loving them well, showing up when they needed a friend, and helping them as needs came up in life. It was through their friendship that God began to soften Walker's heart towards the gospel. He would eventually quit drinking and said yes to Jesus, forever changing his life. After his life changed internally, he also experienced an outward shift as he got a record deal and a hit country song called "Fancy Like." Craig and Walker chronicled their unique and pivotal friendship in their book called Glad You're Here: Two Unlikely Friends Breaking Bread and Fences. In this episode, Davey and Craig discuss the importance of walking with people through the highs and lows, how Scripture can help us in the valley, and why grace through friendship is so significant in a generation facing an epidemic of loneliness. If you've ever wondered how you can be a conduit of God's grace to those right next door, this conversation will encourage you to step outside your comfort zone and open your home and heart to those in your life who need it most.   Website: https://www.craigallencooper.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/craigallencooper/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/craigallencooper Book: Glad You're Here: Two Unlikely Friends Breaking Bread and Fences https://a.co/d/hMjcYl9 Overflowing Mercies: 100 Meditations on the Tender Heart of God https://a.co/d/1AbIu30 Church and Ministry Leaders: Join us for The Healing Leader Roundtable on March 6, 2025 in Indianapolis. There's no such thing as having it all. Every success takes sacrifice. Amy's guest today is actress, singer, song-writer, wife & brand new mom, Mackenzie Porter! With her packed career and being in entertainment, Mackenzie definitely asked herself: “Can I have a baby and continue my work?” (a thought none of us should have, but we most certainly do!) This leads to a quote from Shonda Rhimes that we love:  “Whenever you see me somewhere succeeding in one area of my life, that almost certainly means I am failing in another area of my life.”  Her point being there's no balance or “having it all” because perfection is impossible and we need not have those standards or be expected to do it all…just work hard and do our best where we are in each moment.    Mackenzie grew up on a bison and cattle ranch in Canada….so obviously Amy asks her if she knows the Bison Storm Analogy! They also talk about how Mackenzie started taking piano, violin and singing lessons at just 4-years-old, her acting career (Amy loved the show Travelers she was in on Netflix a while back), what it's like to work with actors and other singers, shooting her shot with Walker Hayes, her new album ‘Nobody's Born With a Broken Heart' + songs on it, how writing is therapeutic, not comparing ourselves to others on social media & 4 Things Gratitude: Mackenzie shared 1) what she's thankful for today, a show she's obsessed with, a song she loves and a drink that's been bringing her joy during this season of life!  HOST: Amy Brown // RadioAmy.com // @RadioAmy  GUEST: Mackenzie Porter // @mackenziepmusic See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
