In high school, Matt was a National Merit finalist who enrolled at the University of Iowa as a journalism major. But after hearing God's call, he transferred to Ozark Christian College in Joplin, Missouri. Now instead of broadcasting the bad news, he's proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ. Matt has served as a youth minister, preaching minister, Bible college professor and is now president of Ozark Christian College. He was the president of the 2013 North American Christian Convention and he serves as a contributing editor for Christian Standard magazine. His writing includes two books, Finish-Line Faith and Victorious. He enjoys reading, cheering for the St. Louis Cardinals, and traveling widely to preach about Jesus. Matt is especially grateful to God for his wife Katie and their six children—Luke, Lydia, Clara, Carl, Conrad and Caroline.
In this episode, Matt proctor discusses how the need for pastors is great, but few young people are wanting to join into full time ministry. He talks about how sometimes a person's greatest contribution to the kingdom may be who you raise up and speak into, not what you do. Luke and Matt Proctor walk us through the tension in personal and communal faith on Sunday, November 27, 2022.
About Chapel: The focus for this year in Chapel is to simply belong to Jesus and serve Jesus. The purpose of the fall Chapel messages is to challenge the members of the college family to take on the character of Christ to BE like Jesus, so that people can see Jesus in us. Then the emphasis of the spring Chapel messages will encourage our campus community to live out our lives in a Christlike way so that others see Jesus working through us. We are seeking to be a discipleship community where each one of us simply seeks to be Jesus' for the sake of others to see, know, and belong to God. Learn more at www.boisebible.edu. Message by guest preacher Matt Proctor on 11-29-20. WE WILL BE HOME REVELATION 21-22 REVELATION 21:1-5 1 Then I saw "a new heaven and a new earth," for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. 2 I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Look! God's dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. 4 He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away." 5 He who was seated on the throne said, "I am making everything new!" REVELATION 22: 1-5 1 Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb, 2 down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. 3 No longer will there be any curse. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will serve him. 4 They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. 5 There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign for ever and ever. PARADISE: relationship with creation restored. CITY: relationship with others restored. Add notes TEMPLE: relationship with God restored.

Thought we would only have 1 episode for this year's Halloween? Think again! For our last episode for halloween 2020, we will be talking about one of our all-time favorite bands, Ghost, and the impact that they have had on rock music in the 2010's. In this day-in-age, it is difficult to get people's attention like the way that Ghost has done in the last 10 years. Because of this, we will be discussing their origins, who they are, what makes them unique, and predictions about what they have in store for us for this decade. What do you think about Ghost? Do you like them? Do you dislike them? Have they had an impact on you? Where do you put them in regards to 2010's rock music? We hope that you enjoy this installment of Punch Me In and we will be looking forward to seeing you in the next episode. Edited by Matt Proctor
This prank was inspired by real life events, for anyone who has a brother or someone who looks like them. When I came back to Nelson to see my family, I was always mistaken for my brother Tom and would get caught in conversations with people so far that it was just too awkward to tell them that it was me. I've had some very awkward conversations as Tom and that was what I was wanted to try and replicate in this prank.Anyway for the prank, we set up a 'Live' radio interview with Billy Proctor and when we go live on air, we introduce him as his brother Matt Proctor and ask him questions as his brother. My prank expert Reggie Goodes does this one and does a great job at convincing Billy he's on the radio. As always if you enjoy this episode please share it, any shares are much appreciated. Romans 1:16-17 New International Version (NIV) 16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile. 17 For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.”

Chiefs coach Colin Cooper has denied claims that his dressing room is split after their horror start to the Super Rugby season. The side has struggled with handling errors and defensive lapses in the early season, finding themselves without a win through the first four rounds. And while their season appears to be on life support, Cooper has denied claims that the losing streak is affecting the dressing room."We work really hard on feedback and we've got good leaders in the group that will keep tapping in with us as coaches and making sure that we're all aligned and in the same waka," he told Radio Sport.Despite his leadership coming into question, Cooper said the team still had the belief they would be playing in the post-season. Flanker Mitchell Brown echoed that and said the players had to take the blame for their poor start."I think he's probably unfairly copping a lot of the blame," Brown said of the criticism Cooper had been receiving."At the end of the day it comes down to the players on the field and how we perform so we've just got to go out there and do our jobs."Looking to upset the high-flying Hurricanes in Hamilton this week, the Chiefs have made several changes to their squad, including moving Damian McKenzie from first five-eighth to fullback.McKenzie's brother, Marty, will don the No 10 jersey in his first appearance of the season, while young gun winger Etene Nanai-Seturo has been demoted to the bench with Ataata Moeakiola joining the starting side. The Chiefs had 13 players unavailable for selection for Friday night's match, including three of their five contracted first five-eighths. As a result, they won't be carrying a back-up first five-eighth on the bench so Damian McKenzie could be in line to slot into the role late in the match. They'll host a strong Hurricanes side who will be looking for an improved performance from the set piece, with experienced props Toby Smith and Ben May given the starting roles in the front row alongside Dane Coles.Chiefs: Damian McKenzie, Sean Wainui, Tumua Manu, Anton Lienert-Brown, Ataata Moeakiola, Marty McKenzie, Brad Weber, Tyler Ardron, Mitchell Karpik, Mitchell Brown, Michael Allardice, Brodie Retallick, Nepo Laulala, Nathan Harris, Aidan Ross.Reserves: Samisoni Taukei'aho, Ryan Coxon, Angus Ta'avao, Taleni Seu, Luke Jacobson, Te Toiroa Tahuriorangi, Alex Nankivell, Etene Nanai-Seturo.Hurricanes: Chase Tiatia, Jordie Barrett, Matt Proctor, Ngani Laumape, Wes Goosen, Beauden Barrett, TJ Perenara, Ardie savea, Du'Plessis Kirifi, Reed Prinsep, Vaea Fifita, James Blackwell, Ben May, Dance Coles, Toby Smith.Reserves: Asafo Aumua, Fraser Armstrong, Alex Fidow, Liam Mitchell, Heiden Bedwell-Curtis, Finlay Christie, Jackson Garden-Bachop, Salesi Rayasi
It will be a familiar side that runs out for the Hurricanes in Wellington against the Highlanders this weekend, with just two changes made.A week removed from their 43-13 battering of the Brumbies, the Hurricanes will welcome back utility Jordie Barrett and prop Jeff To'omaga-Allen to the starting side.Barrett will start on the wing against the Highlanders in place of Vince Aso, who moves back to the bench, with Chase Tiatia holding on to the No 15 jersey after an impressive outing against the Brumbies."We were really pleased with most aspects of our game against the Brumbies and we are looking to build on that by making minimal changes," Hurricanes coach John Plumtree said."There were obviously some tough calls when it came to selecting the side but we were really impressed with the way Chase handled his debut and he has been rewarded for that."The Highlanders are going to be a massive challenge for us, like all New Zealand derbies are, but we are very keen on maintaining our proud record at Westpac Stadium in front of our home fans."On the bench, hooker Asafo Aumua and prop Fraser Armstrong will be in line of playing time for the first time this season.Hurricanes: Chase Tiatia, Jordie Barrett, Matt Proctor, Ngani Laumape, Ben Lam, Beauden Barrett, TJ Perenara, Ardie Savea, Du'Plessis Kirifi, Vaea Fifita, Liam Mitchell, James Blackwell, Jeff To'omaga-Allen, Dane Coles (c), Chris Eves. Reserves: Asafo Aumua, Fraser Armstrong, Ben May, Isaia Walker-Leawere, Reed Prinsep, Richard Judd, Jackson Garden-Bachop, Vince Aso.
Listen to the audio above as Hurricanes hooker and captain Dane Coles speaks to D'Arcy and GoranAfter two unconvincing performances to kick off their season, the Hurricanes have brought reinforcements into the squad.Beauden Barrett will make his first appearance of the season, taking his regular spot in the No.10 jersey alongside halfback TJ Perenara, while younger brother Jordie has been left out of the squad. The Hurricanes have made seven changes in total after being humbled at the hands of the Crusaders last weekend, which sees Ngani Laumape and Chase Tiatia move into the starting squad. It's been a tough start to the year for the Hurricanes, who needed a late charge to beat the Waratahs in their opening fixture before being dealt to in Christchurch last time out. However, with the return of a number of veterans and All Blacks, the side head to Palmerston North to take on the Brumbies with a more experienced and stronger squad.Head coach John Plumtree said the squad was desperate to put in a better performance than the one against the Crusaders in what will be their first home match in 2019."We want to improve a lot of aspects of our play and hopefully we can do that in front of what will be a great crowd in Palmy," Plumtree said."We were really impressed with the performance the Brumbies put out last week so we know the scale of task ahead of us but it's a great challenge for the squad."Hurricanes: Chase Tiatia, Vince Aso, Matt Proctor, Ngani Laumape, Ben Lam, Beauden Barrett, TJ Perenara, Ardie Savea, Du'Plessis Kirifi, Vaea Fifita, Liam Mitchell, James Blackwell, Ben May, Dane Coles (c), Chris Eves. Reserves: Ricky Riccitelli, Xavier Numia, Jeff To'omaga-Allen, Reed Prinsep, Richard Judd, Jackson Garden-Bachop, Wes Goosen.

LISTEN TO GREGOR PAUL TALK WITH MARTIN DEVLIN ABOVEThere didn't appear to be anything cheap or unworthy about the All Blacks as they dismantled Japan with stunning precision.Call them a weakened team, a second team even but don't call them undeserving of the jersey for the All Blacks were nothing but persistently excellent. They played good rugby that was a triumph for their instincts and natural talents rather than any clever or detailed coaching. And which country in the world right now wouldn't mind having an alternate test side as good as this one? Which other country could say they have anywhere near the same depth to have thumped Australia one week, changed all 22 of the 23 players and then thumped Japan the next?Nor should the difficulty of their task in Tokyo be seen as anything other than significant. This was a team that was thrown together on Monday morning and asked to face a Japanese team that wouldn't know how to lie down if they were in a room with a bed and nothing else but a sign saying 'lie down here'.Good enough to beat the Springboks at the last World Cup, Japan remain a skilled, committed and tricky opponent with the capability of taking a big scalp again. The shortness of the All Blacks preparation, unfamiliarity with one another and test football combined with the quality of Japan made this the sort of game that could easily go wrong at an alarming rate for the All Blacks. But one hiccup aside when a Jordie Barrett clearance was charged down in the opening minutes to allow Japan a simple seven points and bring the crowd into proceedings, the All Blacks were composed, aware and slick enough to score on the back of most of the half chances they created.Richie Mo'unga was the architect of most of their best work, confirming that he really is a classy footballer with the potential to come back to Japan next year and light up the World Cup.Japan are renowned for the speed of their defensive line and yet it looked like Mo'unga had all the time in the world every time he had the ball. There was never a hint of uncertainty or confusion in his own mind – he made his mind up early what he was going to do, committed to it and made it happen with a flow and accuracy that only those who are truly special can.If there was a moment that showed what he's really all about, though, and why he's such a prospect it came early on the first half when he kicked a penalty for touch and carved too much off to kick it dead in goal. He shrugged it off and five minutes later when he had another kick from almost the same position, he was as bold as he was the first time but that fraction more accurate to ensure it went out.Lesser players would have been more conservative, dwelling on their earlier mistake. But not Mo'unga, who was by no means alone in impressing. There's some debate about whether Jackson Hemopo is a lock or blindside but what's not blurred is his ability to make his presence felt and get through the sort of hard graft that wins games without ever quite being fully appreciated. Then there was Ngani Laumape, who scored a hat-trick by a combination of power, pace, astuteness and a neat grubber kick and collect. And what about George Bridge? On at half-time for the injured Nehe Milner-Skudder, he scored with his first touch and then created a try for Matt Proctor with his second.Unbelievably his third touch was a second try and it was a strong inference that he might be the next Ben Smith. There was an even stronger inference that this team will be the next wave of All Blacks.New Zealand 69 (D. Coles, R. Mo'unga, N. Laumape (3) T. Tahuriorangi, G. Bridge (2), W. Naholo, M. Proctor tries; R. Mo'unga pen, 7 cons; J. Barrett con)Japan 31 (S. Anise, H. Tui, J. Henry, T. Lafaele (2) tries; Y.Tamura 3 cons)HT: 38-19

LISTEN TO NIGEL YALDEN TALK WITH CRAIG CUMMINGS ABOVEStarting centre Matt Proctor and flanker Dalton Papalii will make their All Black test debuts against Japan in Tokyo, with six of the eight reserves also in line to win their first caps. They will inevitably be tagged as All Black second-stringers, but not all of the match-day 23 fall into that category and it will be a memorable occasion for all the newcomers, who include prop Tyrel Lomax, loose forwards Dillon Hunt and Gareth Evans, and backs Mitchell Drummond, Brett Cameron and George Bridge, all of whom have been named on the bench, but also starting hooker Dane Coles, who will make a welcome return from injury. It will be Coles' first test since November last year and, after limited minutes over two games for Wellington recently, he will wear the No 2 jersey with the hope of lasting up to 50 minutes before giving way to Liam Coltman. Coles' return after his nightmare 18 months of concussion problems and a knee injury will be welcomed by the All Blacks coaches and also Codie Taylor, the incumbent who has borne the brunt of the workload in his absence. No 8 Luke Whitelock has been named skipper. There are returns too for outside backs Jordie Barrett, Nehe Milner-Skudder and Waisake Naholo, with Richie Mo'unga directing operations in the No 10 jersey, a clear sign that Damian McKenzie will start at fullback against England at Twickenham a week later. The top-line All Blacks have already left for London in preparation for that highly-anticipated test but Mo'unga is a good chance to be named on the bench to play back-up to Beauden Barrett.Auckland loose forward Papalii wasn't available for his triumphant team's Mitre 10 Cup semifinal or final and will hope to make the most of his opportunity against the Cherry Blossoms who are coached by former All Black blindside flanker Jamie Joseph.Papalii, tall for a New Zealand No 7 at 1.93m, has been a standout this season with his powerful defending and ball-carrying and the All Blacks coaches will expect more of the same from him and the rest of the team which has a mobile look about it.They will seek to play a high-impact but also high-tempo game, with Jackson Hemopo drafted into the second row alongside Patrick Tuipulotu due to the injury suffered by lock Luke Romano in last weekend's Mitre 10 Cup premiership final at Eden Park. There is no lock cover on the bench, with Hunt and Evans likely to up the tempo in the second half if and when they get the opportunity. There is potential for blindside flanker Vaea Fifita to move to lock if necessary. There should be as much interest in the performances of those more senior players who have slipped slightly in terms of their positions in Steve Hansen's top line-up, and they include right wing Milner-Skudder and left wing Naholo. With Hansen showing a preference for McKenzie at fullback and Ben Smith and Rieko Ioane on the wings in big tests, the pair have a bit of ground to make up. Milner-Skudder has played only one test this year – against Argentina in Nelson – after his return from a shoulder problem, while Naholo has been injury free and hasn't done too much wrong.Proctor will form a potentially high-impact unit in the midfield with fellow Hurricane Ngani Laumape. For Jordie Barrett, another Hurricane, the test is his first opportunity to put his high-profile quick throw-in mistake against the Boks in Wellington behind him.Apart from the injured Romano, the other unlucky All Blacks are hooker Asafo Aumua, prop Reuben O'Neill, halfback Bryn Hall and fullback David Havili, a quartet who made the trip to Japan and trained but will not play. All Blacks team to play Japan at Ajinomoto Stadium in Tokyo on Saturday, kick-off 6.45pm is:(New caps in bold)Jordie Barrett 14. Nehe Milner-Skudder 13. Matt Proctor 12. Ngani Laumape 11. Waisake Naholo 10. Richie Mo'unga 9. Te Toiroa Tahuriorangi 8. Luke Whitelock © 7. Dalton Papalii 6. Vaea Fifita 5. Jackson Hemopo 4. Five players part of the All Blacks end of year tour squad will be released to play for the Maori.Bryn Hall, Matt Proctor, Nehe Milner-Skudder, Tyrell Lomax and Jackson Hemopo, who have been named for the test against Japan, will all link up with the Maori All Blacks for matches against Chile and Brazil. But it means they'll miss the first test of the Maori tour, against the USA in Chicago.Coach Clayton McMillan says that presents some challenges. He says with them out, they'll look to add some other players in who press their chances in the Mitre 10 Cup.Meanwhile Black Ferns coach Glenn Moore's called in the uncapped trio of Ayesha Leti-I'iga [leti-la-inga], Kilisitina [ki-lis-ah-teen-ah] Moata'ane and Natahlia Moors from outside of the wider group for their end of year tour. The Black Ferns will play the USA and two tests against France next month.
