Joseph spent years confined in an Egyptian dungeon for a crime he did not commit. Yet God was not absent—He was refining Joseph's faith, strengthening him with His presence, and preparing him for promises that would be fulfilled in God's time, not Joseph's. In this episode of the MY Devotional Podcast, Dr. Michael Youssef encourages a different kind of praying when you feel stuck: don't only pray for a way out—pray for God's will to be worked into you. If the Lord is using hardship to discipline, correct, or mature you, receive it with humility so you don't miss His purpose. Trying to manipulate God's will through prayer only produces frustration; faith learns to wait. Dr. Youssef then turns to Jesus in Gethsemane—the perfect model of surrendered prayer: “Not as I will, but as you will” (Matthew 26:39) and “may your will be done” (Matthew 26:42). Christ taught His disciples to pray the same way (Matthew 6:10), because real victory in trials comes through submission, not control. When you're weary, ask the Holy Spirit to help you pray, to intercede, and to deepen your grasp of God's love—so you can trust and obey in the valley as confidently as on the mountaintop. Prayer: God, I come to You in a difficult place. I pray that Your will would be accomplished in this season of my life. Help me to trust You and wait on You. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen. “But while Joseph was there in the prison, the Lord was with him, . . .” (Genesis 39:20-21). Learn more in Dr. Michael A. Youssef's sermon series Joseph: Portrait of a Winner: LISTEN NOW The voice you hear on the MY Devotional podcast is digitally generated with Dr. Youssef's permission. If today's devotional stirred a question, burden, or need for prayer, you don't have to walk through it alone.

If the day has become demanding, or you feel stretched beyond what you expected, this moment is for you. This is a prayer to help you keep going with strength that does not come from yourself alone. We are praying from the words of Jesus in the Lord's Prayer — “Your Kingdom come, Your will be done.” Father, in the middle of this day, we come back to You again. Not because everything is easy, but because we know You are present within it all. Your Kingdom come. Even here, in the pressure. Even here, in the pace of the day. Even here, where we feel stretched. Your will be done. Not through our own striving, but through Your strength within us. And Your Word reminds us that we can do what is needed— not because we are strong on our own, but because You are strengthening us. So we pause here. We allow ourselves to stop pushing for a moment. We breathe. We steady ourselves in Your presence. So I release the pressure to carry everything in my own strength. I release the thought that I am not enough for what lies ahead. I release the tension that has built up within me. I place it in Your hands. And now, I choose to rely on You. I lean into Your strength. I trust that You are sustaining me. I believe that You are working through me. And now, I receive. I receive strength for this moment. I receive resilience to keep going. I receive confidence to take the next step. Today, I will not give in to pressure. I will move forward with quiet confidence. I will keep going, knowing that I am not alone. God is with you now. You are not alone in this moment. You ever feel like serving costs more than it's worth? Like obedience is inconvenient… and forgiveness feels unfair? This message from Pastor Derek flips all that upside down. Because in the Kingdom of God, the path forward is found in going low. ✔️ Serve even when it's hard ✔️ Forgive even when it's undeserved ✔️ Obey even when it's inconvenient Jesus didn't come to be served—He came to serve. And if He did it, we can too. This week, choose the posture that unlocks reconciliation, faith, and purpose. Just do it.

To be a channel of God's Spirit bringing Heaven to earth, we must (1) COME to God and honour Him with praise, thanksgiving and worship (Matt 6:9), then (2) RECEIVE His Spirit and words into our heart by faith (John 7:37), then (3) RELEASE His Spirit from our heart into the earth by our WORDS of faith (Matthew 6:10, 12:34-35, John 7:38). After (1) coming to God, (2) we believe we receive the promised blessing into our heart, and then (3) we release it into the earth by confessing it with our mouth unto salvation - the manifestation of the promise (Romans 10:10). This illustrated message describes Jesus' Prayer at Gethsemane ('Oil Press'). This place was chosen to give a picture of what He suffered & accomplished here by submitting to God's will. Just as in this Cave in a Garden, olives were pressed 3 times to release their oil, so Jesus was pressed 3 times to release the Oil of the Spirit to us.

We primarily express our will (authority) through the words we choose to speak. As a Pilot establishes a ship's course by controlling its rudder, so we establish the direction of our lives by our tongue (James 3:4). We bring our lives into submission to Jesus our Captain by (1) saying: "Your will be done", and (2) aligning our words to His revealed will (Word).

The Prayer of Dedication: "Your will be done" is essential to receiving Guidance from God. Derek & Hilary share 8 Principles of Guidance: Realise (1) if you trust in yourself you will mess up, (2) God has a good plan (perfect will) for your life, (3) He is guiding you, (4) as a child of God, you can hear His voice. (5) Do God's revealed will diligently. (6) You must WANT God's will. (7) Pray for Guidance. (8) For big decisions take special time out to seek God.

What we dedicate to God, He will consecrate (possess with His Spirit). There are 2 kinds of Prayer of Dedication: (1) When God's will is known, we pray: "let be unto me according to your word" (Luke 1:34-38), and (2) when His will is unknown, as we pray: "Your will be done", His Spirit aligns our thoughts and desires to His will.

The Purpose of Prayer is not to establish our will, but to release God's power and blessing, so His will is done on earth as in Heaven. This starts by our submission to His authority: "Thine be (1) the Kingdom (authority), (2) the Power (in the Holy Spirit), and (3) the Glory (the manifestation of the power in answered prayer)" (Matthew 6:13).

When we come into God's Presence with praise and thanksgiving, we meet His authority, requiring us to bow (submit) our will to God, praying: “Your Kingdom come. Your will be done.” This positions us to receive His grace for ourselves, and to be a channel of His grace to others through our prayers (Romans 14:17).

Jesus teaches us to pray, "Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven." I. We pray for God's will to be accomplished. II. We pray for God to make us able and willing to obey his will in all things. III. We pray for God to make us able and willing to submit to his will in all things.
Jesus teaches us to pray, "Your Kingdom Come." What are we praying for? I. We pray that Satan’s kingdom may be destroyed. II. We pray that the kingdom of grace may be advanced. III. We pray that ourselves and others are brought into it, and kept in it. IV. We pray that the kingdom of glory may be hastened.
6.23.19Luke 13:20-21Matthew 6:10Whenever God has transformed a community He’s always caused a people to rise up and invade the places their lives touch with His hope and love much like yeast does to dough. As Jesus invaded the world with hope and love we are to invade our world with that same hope and love. The message of Jesus' love and hope is to not be localized and limited to church buildings or Sundays. It should and must be in every nook and cranny, every street and home, every child and adult, every business and school, every level of society, every place where life touches. Dream and pray about, think of ways to bring the Kingdom to the places your life touches. Use what you normally do, like eating, shopping, playing, living and invade those places with the love, hope, joy, forgiveness, peace, and grace of Jesus. We are all called to the Ministry of Intercession. Christ ever lives to make Intercession (Hebr 7:25), to release the blessings that He procured for us by His intercession for us on the Cross. As His Body we share in His present priestly ministry. He needs us to do this for He has given us authority in the earth.

Matthew 6:10 If you could have anything in this world, what would it be? If you could change one thing in this world, what would you change? For most of us when we think about these things we have some ideas that immediately come to our minds. We all have things we want. But this morning Jesus teaches us that the best thing for us is to recognize that what God wants for us is better than what we want for ourselves. This morning we learn to pray, "Your Will be Done."Support the show (https://pushpay.com/g/hillsidechgr?src=hpp)

Prayer expresses our hearts: are we the subject or the subjects? Who do we live to please?
The dictionary defines citizenship as: The character of an individual viewed as a member of society; behavior in terms of the duties, obligations, and functions of a citizen. In brother Abel's message he reminds the body of our citizenship status in the Heavenly Kingdom. When we walk down the street strangers should want to stop in their tracks and ask us what's different in our actions and demeanor because we live our lives according to God's word. Own your citizenship friends, guard it with your life because the Kingdom of Heaven will be established here on earth as it us in Heaven; will your citizenship status be up to date when that time comes?
