Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi vs Darth Maul. One of the coolest battles in Star Wars gives us a nice behind the scenes look from the bonus DVD as George Lucas, Nick Gillard and Rick McCallum go through the process of filming the final fight that shaped the future of the galaxy with Anakin Skywalker training under Obi-Wan instead of Qui-Gon, resulting in his turn to the dark side, and becoming Vader. Hey and welcome back to Star Wars Theory, today we're going to cover this special part of The Revenge of the Sith bonus DVD that covers the stunts and BTS with George Lucas, Nick Gillard, Ewan McGregor, Hayden Christensen, Samuel L Jackson, Ian McDiarmid and more. Something I found very fun to discuss here was the snippet regarding Anakin's power level at the end of the film. Back in the 80's, George Lucas (reference The Making of Return of the Jedi/ESB/ANH books) mentioned how Luke was a level 2, Vader a 4, Obi-Wan a 6 and the Emperor an 8 (or something like that) in terms of power. So I feel that now we can a little insight on what Anakin's level would be on that scale that George Lucas made up. At the very least, it's pretty fun to discuss. Learn more about your ad choices. Have you ever wondered what power levels each Jedi from the Star Wars prequels would have been? I have found an excerpt from Star Wars Archives by Paul Duncan regarding a quote by George Lucas, followed by Nick Gillard (swordman choreography and stunts for prequels) who confirms that George Lucas had a power level system. These characters include, Anakin Skywalker in episode 2-3, Obi-Wan Kenobi episodes 1-3, Palpatine Ep 3 Revenge of the Sith, Yoda ep 3 Revenge of the Sith, Mace Windu episode 3 Revenge of the Sith, and more which I'll discuss from the originals (Luke, Vader, Sidious, Obi-Wan). I find this levelling system to be quite interesting as it puts into perspective how powerful each character was in comparison to one another. Learn more about your ad choices.
