In this episode of the show, Baldy, Jamie and Stu look back at week 3 of IPL 2025 through a stock market lens. Who are we buying? Who are we selling? And what are we watching with our fingers poised ready to pounce in the coming weeks? We start this week with an injury update - and it's not been good news both on the field for the Kiwis Lockie Ferguson and Glenn Phillips, and in the podcast studio, with almost all of us suffering from one ailment or another. Once things do turn positive, it's the Gujarat Titans who are first to receive praise - in particular Sai Sudharsan and the consistency he's shown throughout the tournament so far. We also talk about Punjab's Indian core and the golden duck to century turnaround for Priyansh Arya. Dr Jamie takes us through the mindset needed to succeed across a long tournament like the IPL, in which you're bound to fail along the way - perhaps more often than you do succeed. Next we talk about the Sunrisers Hyderabad after Abhishek Sharma's outrageous 141, which saw them chase down almost 250 and maybe kick-start their turnaround. Is it time to load up on SRH stock? Or are there still worrying signs? Things get dark when discussion turns to CSK - the intent has disappeared, no one is scoring runs and not even MS Dhoni cameos can really get the crowd excited any more. Can they turn it around? Or is it already time to sell all our stock despite it reaching an all-time low? To round out the show, we detour briefly to talk about Harry Brook's appointment as England captain, we talk Digvesh Rathi's celebrations, Vipraj Nigam establishing DC's spin trio & Nicholas Pooran's six-hitting prowess as LSG continue to impress. We expect to be back in your feed later in the week with more IPL coverage. Nick Pivetta has both started and relieved for the Boston Red Sox, and so far the latter is paying off a lot more. In the opening game of the series vs. the Oakland Athletics on Monday, Nicky P. threw six shutout innings in which he gave up no hits and broke the Red Sox franchise record for most strikeouts in a relief appearance with 13. Gabby applauds Pivetta for his performance and explains why he should stay put rather than being moved back into the starting rotation.Trevor Story is on his way back! After a year hiatus WE. ARE. BACK. Nicky P and I caught up shortly after the release of his first album, If The Shoe Fits, in November. We took the time to discuss what got Nicky P into the rap game. We discuss what fuels his fire and what his expectations are for his album. Nicky P is creating an aura around shoes...whether it be Two Shoes, If The Shoe Fits or any other play on words for that matter. This comes from a nickname he received a year or so ago in corporate America. Nicky P is versatile, lyrical and has some solid beats, this is what drew me into his music and why I wanted to share his story with you all.Nicky P is an artist I truly believe in and hope him all the best in this Endeavor. In today's episode Nicky P and Lizzie discuss what Nicky is thinking of as The Great Testosterone Debacle. While media seems to be ramping up the sexuality, the younger generations seem less interested. Is the pervasive and rapid decline of testosterone the culprit? We're just a weird midwest husband and wife, how the hell should we know? Still, we googled stuff and think you should be aware any of your hormone levels being low an really damage your immune system and I heard we're in the midst of a pandemic. In today's episode Nicky P and Eric review Immolation, episode six of season three of the expanse. Most of the episode is Nicky P geeking out about how in love with a single scene he is. He dares say it’s likely the greatest scene in a sci-fi film ever. If you’ve watched the show it’s unlikely you don’t immediately know which scene is being discussed, which makes Nicky skeptical of Eric having actually watched the episode. Either way Prax, Amos & Dr Strickland create a moment that solidifies who each character is at their core. To really hear what’s up though you have to listen, or watch for yourself. Wikipedia Synopsis Believing Holden's group to be Martian Marines, Mao and Strickland prepare to use the children as hostages. The boy hybrid attacks Bobbie. A missile hits and infects the Agatha King. Holden captures Mao. Amos kills Strickland. An infected Cotyar destroys the Agatha King to stop the protomolecule. Naomi tells Johnson about the hybrid missiles, and he destroys them. On Earth, Anna exposes Errinwright who admits his treason. Esteban orders Errinwright's arrest. Mao is brought to Avasarala as a prisoner, Bobbie recovers with Alex, Prax spends time with Mei, and Holden reunites with Naomi. A large protomolecule structure takes off from the surface of Venus. In today's episode Nicky P and Lizzie sit down with friend and podcaster Dan Smotz to discuss being cancelled. Dan and by connection his wife were removed from Facebook last month for one of his podcast episodes that platformed a person interested in the Q conspiracy while himself taking a critical stance. We get into how this has affected his business as a self employed parent and dive deep into the reverberations the cancellation has had throughout every aspect of their lives. In today’s episode Nicky P and Eric review Reload, episode four of season three of the expanse. In the episode the crew of the Roci faces a mutiny in response for a good deed, We see Prax continue on down his slow road into Amosville. Erriwright comes closer to his come-upance and Mao waffles yet again on the shutdown of the research project on Io. Season three just continues to build on the character, Amos and frankly stacks so much of the comic relief on him. “Did I miss it?” Another killer episode in the books is what that sounds like. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/rebelwithacause/message
In today’s episode Nicky P and The Rebel With A Cause review Triple Point, episode five of season three of The Expanse. Today’s episode was a real wild and wooly one. Souther attempts a mutiny against Admiral Nguyen and loses but ends up sparking a UNN internal battle as ships defect against the admiral. The Martians watch as their enemy attacks itself and decides the Errinwright video is the real deal. Naomi goes and sets herself against the Roci crew admitting she gave Fred Johnson a protomolecule sample. And if that wasn’t enough Mao proves he’s only part human by ordering Mei be infected for testing. In the end will she be saved or is it too late? --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/rebelwithacause/message
Food is super important, and so are the farmer's that grow it, but the ag business is manipulated and floated by big government so much so, it's hard to understand some of the real costs. It's also a great topic to have conversations over to help show the real effects of government intervention. Joining me this week is hog farmer, and cheap beer connoisseur, the Farmarchist! In today’s episode Nicky P and Eric give their review of IFF, episode two of season three of the expanse. We watch in horror as all the worst parts of humanity bubble to the surface and smother the path of kindness and understanding. Is that Errinwright smothering newcomer Doctor Pastor Anna Volovodov? --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/rebelwithacause/message
In today’s episode Nicky P and Eric review Assured Destruction, episode three of season three of The Expanse. It is abundantly clear, three episodes in, that season three refuses to pull off the gas. There is almost a nonsensical amount of material in this single episode. Errinwright convinces Esteban to start a pre-emptive war with Mars and end it to unite humanity against whatever unknown threat is growing in the storms of Venus. This alone could be an entire episode but nay nay. Instead we get Cotyar on the Agatha King as prisoner at the same time UNN Admiral Nguyen has arrived to strut around and swing his dick in his former superiors face. Captain Souther isn’t buying everything he is told and manages to extract some information from Cotyar before Nguyen and his men take complete control of the ship. Head spinning yet? We haven’t even got to IO where Mao is ready to pull the plug on the Protomolecule project before Dr Strickland convinced him there’s reason to continue. Oh and Alex gets a message from his family and some closure while Naomi and Avasarala affirm they’re never gonna get along. Whew. I think that’s everything. Some shows entire seasons don’t cover this much ground. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/rebelwithacause/message

In today’s episode Nicky P and Eric review Caliban’s War, episode thirteen of season two of the expanse. In the episode Holden gets his legs crushed attempting to fight the stowaway protomolecule monster. Pinned to a wall Holden watches as the monster begins tearing its way to the reactor core of the Roci. The team begins plans to eject the monster and accept Holden’s death as collateral damage but Prax sweeps in with a superior idea at the last minute. Meanwhile Cotyar Bobbie and Avasarala are in a shootout with Mao’s men and the Arborghast begins a descent to see whats going on down on venus. There is little good news here but the show ends showing us a still living Dr Strickland and Mei. Somehow we have more open threads than we started with…oh yeah Naomi gave Fred Johnson the protomolecule…so there’s that…. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/rebelwithacause/message

In today’s episode Nicky P and Eric review Here There Be Dragons, episode eleven of season two of the expanse. They really poured the action on this episode after all the setup in the previous episode. We get Bobby beating an admission of Mars’ involvement in the protomolecule project out of her superior before running to the UN. Mao implores Chrisjen to meet with him in neutral territory for a presumed trap…apparently she likes traps. Aboard the UNS Arboghast they see what appears to be a massive protomolecule city on Venus before their probe fails. Meanwhile the Roci crew is chasing down the doctor to discover they are too late and they are left the aftermath of a monster attack.. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/rebelwithacause/message
In today’s episode Nicky P and Eric review The Monster And The Rocket, episode twelve of season two of the expanse. In the episode we get a full look at just how treacherous Erinwright is willing to be. We get a glimpse of how comfortable Mao is playing arms dealer to everyone. Holden goes full Ahab putting the crew of the Roci in jeapoardy as he chases his monster. Meanwhile Naomi is given a real Kobiashi Maru scenario to navigate after repairing captain Trigglypuff’s ship. In the end Holden saves the day but we see his victory is about to be short lived as his great blue whale has decided to hitch a ride into space proper. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/rebelwithacause/message

In today's episode Nicky P and Lizzie ask each other the question we are all asking. Are you over 2020? It often feels like we want to ask 2020 that same question. Has it had its fill torment? Is it gonna move on in January? I suppose the answer isn't terribly relevant because no matter what it throws at us we owe it to Erma to take it head on and reach the next little island of accomplishment for her. As we talk through our goals for 2021 and review our performance in 2020 we see piles of progress (more like filled in holes) we have to take stock of what was good decisions paying off or luck. As we've been harping on understanding what we can take credit for in our lives will serve us better than self esteem ever could. Personally I think peace is all about keeping your outer and inner perceptions congruous or at least explainable. In today's episode Nicky P and Lizzie are gonna ruffle some feathers with their review of Elf. The Will Farrell comedy is revered as a modern holiday classic but does it deserve the acclaim? Does crying immediately make the movie good? Is Zooey Deschanel a natural brunette? Who is better looking, her or her sister? We explore these questions and more in today's episode. Beverages For Round The Fireplace Nicky P has decided refreshing was what he needed for today's beverage and the Cape May Cranberry Mule fits the bill with a recipe from townandcountrymag.com featuring: vodka, muddled fresh cranberries, ginger beer, lime & ice. Lizzie has found a delicious liquid version of her favorite holiday candy. The Turkish Delight Cocktail made from a delicious.com recipe features: rose petal infused gin, creme de cacao, lemon juice, vanilla syrup, and egg white. It's a little too much rose petals and baking ingredients for me but its perfect for Lizzie. Christmas Sweater Fever Nicky P has put laziness ahead of creativity today and has shown up in an advent sweater. You've never heard of an advent sweater? It's the only article of clothing that its appropriate to wear for 25 days in a row. Use your imagination and try not to imagine the smell. For today's fashion choice Lizzie has swapped one nerd franchise for another and put aside the modern sins made by certain actors in an effort to rep one of her all time favorite shows. Her "Make It Snow" sweater featuring Captain Picard brings her all kinds of warm feelings and certainly no judgmental feelings about how dirty the Picard show did fans. In today's episode Nicky P and Lizzie are here to review the uber-British animated comedy Arthur Christmas. The animated romp follows a Claus family trying to navigate the changing of the guard from the old Santa to the new Santa with an ensemble cast featuring some serious heavyweights. Does this list of A class character actors pull it's weight? Is the movie everything it's cracked up to be? Have a listen and find out what we think anyway. Beverages For Round The Fireplace Nicky P is yet again enjoying a wintery version of an iced favorite with a Salted Caramel White Russian with a recipe borrowed from inspiredbycharm.com featuring: Salted Caramel Kaluha, Salted Caramel Vodka, Half & Half & Caramel sauce to garnish. Lizzie on the other hand has opted to drink like my grandmother with a simple yet aromatic Bourbon Cocktail from biscuitsandburlap.com featuring: bourbon, honey, sage and orange for garnish. Christmas Sweater Fever In an unprecedented move both Nicky P and Lizzie have shown up in virtually the same festive garb, wearing gift wrapped boxes over their respective genitalia in homage to the classic Justin Timberlake/Andy Samberg bit. I suppose its a when the kids away the adults get freaky situation?
