I decided to bring back some of the old show for these GVQ updates, and this month I talked about two homeschool related happenings in Mississippi and Georgia: MS HB 188, and the Georgia Child Fatality Review. After that, its onto the homesteading where I lament about prying hands getting into seed trays and then whinge about whoever built my house and oriented it strictly based on the road, and not the suns patterns for optimal lighting and temperature control. Rodger Paxton is an unschooling father of two, fledgling homesteader, and master podcaster. He joined the Liberty Hippie this week to talk about what unschooling looks like for Rodger and his children, as well as the why's behind he and his wife's decision to keep their kids out of public school. We also talked about Strike the Root Farm, Rodger's homestead. They started with some laying hens and meat chickens and have been expanding their production to provide meat and eggs, not just for consumption but for an income stream as well. Join the Liberty Hippie and James Davis for episode 50 of the Homesteads and Homeschools podcast as they enter into the world of parenting to talk about...peaceful parenting! For some, peaceful parenting can seem a bit exotic, and almost impossible to achieve, for others, it's just a form of laziness, and for those that practice it, it can become the facilliator of a beautiful relationship between parents and children, while setting those children up for great success in the future. Hemp is often touted as a miracle crop with countless applications for all; in the last few years it has quickly gained notoriety in the health world, but still faces strict legislative controls that make it all but impossible to grow despite being "legal." Today's guest, Ted Metz, came on the show to talk more about the industrial uses of hemp than the medicinal side. This week the Liberty Hippie is joined by another Jordan, but this time his last name is Taylor. Joining us from Volume Zero is Jordan Taylor to discuss his homeschooling journey and how music became an integral part of that experience. Jordan learned to play early and is still at it. We talked about why and how, as well as some of the things he felt his homeschool experience ended up being a bit soft on. This weeks episode is a little different. Today's episode is a short clip from a forthcoming episode of my podcast Sounds Like Liberty where we try to suss out who's going to have the best taste in Ancapistan. We had on Theodore of Crowdfunded Government on the show and he had the brilliant idea to bring his list of his favorite podcast theme songs. It's different than normal but I thought it was certainly in the spirit of this show. I hope you enjoy. We mention the following podcasts: Friends Against Government The Brian Nichols Show Peaceful Treason Tasting Anarchy A Boy Named Pseu Anarchitecture Free Man Beyond The Wall The Tom Woods Show Biting The Bullet The Fifth Column Actual Anarchy Hopefully you found a new favorite this week. If you've got one i should feature let me know over at liberpods.com. More importantly go tell people. The more voices the better to spread the word of liberty. Happy Liberty New Year! And what better way to celebrate than with a Liberty New Year's Party, as Marc welcomes in some of his fellow Lions including Brian McWilliams, Howie Snowdon and not-really-a-hoodie-model J.B. Lubin. Having re-capped plenty of liberty in the last week, the Lions start off by discussing their favorite movies of 2018, before getting into vaguely relevant topics such as the question "IF you had to give up one of your five senses, which would it be?", discuss possible Democratic POTUS candidates, discuss which deceased libertarians they would draft in the "Ghost" category of the Liberty Draft....AND SO MUCH MORE! Don't forget to check out the bonus show on Patreon where we ramble about the Libertarian Party, Ben Shapiro's debate opponents, the libertarian stance on cannibalism, and whether or not Howie could survive on a diet of pure bourbon.
