Luis shared his story of addiction and recovery, and the spiritual experiences - harrowing and heart warming - that accompany such an initiation. He also shared a story of La Llorona, and some tales of Curanderismo from his childhood. We touched a lot of topics, and hit all the Nightbird classics on this episode. This past week, Shirley and I celebrated our 50th anniversary! This led me to think about a Psalm with the ideal of remembering which I found in Psalm 103 and the music of Psalm 103 recorded on my Keys of David album. As we remember what our Heavenly Father has done for us, we choose to be thankful and realize how blessed we have been. I am also including a link to a video of Nightbird which is a wonderful reminder of how to be thankful and grateful amidst challenging circumstances in life. Thanks giving opens up the communication channel to our Heavenly Father. Take some time to count your blessings and let your Heavenly Father know how much you appreciate His lovingkindness towards you and your family. Rise of the Beasts has hit movie theaters across the globe and the Seibertron.com Twincast Podcast takes most of episode 327 to talk about the film. Reflections on its characters occur throughout, including both the robot and human cast with standouts such as Mirage and Noah. The plot is discussed in-depth alongside speculation of what may have been left on the cutting room floor that could have helped the story along. Continuity comes up as well, leaving the ultimate decision on prequel vs reboot status to the listener. The G.I. Joe presence at the end of the film also leads to informal predictions of what may occur in the future. After some retrospective thought about its toyline, the cast quickly checks out the upcoming Buzzworthy Bumblebee troop-builder 4-pack before the episode concludes with a quick round of the recurring Bragging Rights segment.

Episode 67. Six Degrees of Patti LaBelle. The Queen. The Legendary Godmother of Soul. Hosted by Troy Saunders, Wanda T., and Arif St. Michael. Our series on the career and music of the legendary Patti LaBelle wraps up by featuring LaBelle's secret weapon, the great Nona Hendryx. In addition to being an amazing performer, she was the prolific songwriter for many of LaBelle's biggest hits, including "You Turn Me On," "Nightbird," "Going Down Makes Me Shiver," "Space Children," "Messin' with My Mind," "Gypsy Moths," and "Who's Watching the Watcher". This episode touches both on her work with LaBelle as well as her solo work.Nona Hendryx gained fame with Patti LaBelle and the Bluebells in the 1960s. A singer in a female band in the era of the Supremes and the Shirelles, she could have been a footnote in music history for the hit “Lady Marmalade” and other soul and R&B hits. But Hendryx, a cousin of Jimi Hendrix (her family changed the spelling), didn't stop there. She wrote and recorded for film soundtracks and, in the early '80s, fronted her own progressive art group, Zero Cool. Hendryx has collaborated with many musicians from Keith Richards to Talking Heads, written songs for Dusty Springfield and others, produced albums, and done some acting. Her own albums include The Heat (1985), You Have to Cry Sometime with Billy Vera (1992), and Mutais Mutandis (2012).Listen and subscribe to the BAAS Entertainment Podcast on Spotify, Amazon Music, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Deezer, iHeartRadio, Pandora, Podchaser, Pocket Casts and TuneIn. “Hey, Alexa. Bara några månader tidigare stretade bandet runt på olika sunkhak i New York. Ron Ginyard Jr's Biography: I am a proud Child of God (Love)...a spiritual being enjoying this human experience. I love being outdoors appreciating, exercising, and realizing my place in nature. I love to travel and see the world (even if only through a book and especially through meditation), and I love spending time with family and friends enjoying life. It is important to me that whatever I do for "work" improves the existence of life forms that are most in need. I believe in the power of vulnerable and respectful dialogue, and the power of the conscious relationships that get built through that dialogue (especially when it connects different backgrounds and perspectives through our common Being). Strong relationships created through HUMAN storytelling will make this world a better and more joyous home for ALL life. I humbly believe education (not necessarily school) has a unique and transformational power to change our world in positive ways. Done right, it is a gateway to true Freedom. I continually ask myself, "What can I do to invite people on their own journey to experience God's living presence in their lives?" I ask this question with awareness that the divine goes by many names. Erin Hupp has been creating beautiful ceramics for more than 20 years. But it wasn't until she was knee-deep in a successful career in law that she made ceramics her main gig. After earning her law degree, the San Francisco-based artist practiced land-use and child-welfare law. But the call of her art was always at the back of her mind, and after giving birth to her third child, she decided to make an enormous change: she would pursue her art, but not just as a hobby—as a full time business. Her focused approach—she marks every ceramics-related task on the family calendar—has paid off. Erin is now a professional artist known for her texturally-rich tableware. She partners with restaurants and interior designers to create site-specific pieces, all by hand on her potter's wheel. You'll find her work at restaurants including Hilda and Jesse, Californios, Nightbird, Sorrel and Pasta Bar. Listen to our conversation to find out how she made the seemingly unlikely transition from lawyer to potter a very successful one.
