A path meanders steadily into the golden meadow...all possible futures lie ahead... A long-time favourite in his native country, Gadi Mitrani has been representing the Turkish underground with esteem since he first burst onto the scene over 15 years ago. A unique and prodigious talent, Mitrani’s ceaseless love for all things electronic music has led to some of the scene’s most hallowed and celebrated dancefloors. A true visionary, he was one of the first to notice the potential of Turkey’s electronic music scene — and as such is deemed an influential figure to many of the country’s fledgling electronic music producers. Famed for his signature deep, tech and prog-heavy sets, Mitrani is a DJ notable for his versatility and a man who’s more than able to chop it up with the best of them. In 2015 he debuted on Kompakt KX courtesy of ‘Key of Stillness’, a suitably momentous cut that introduced Mitrani to a whole new audience and duly elevated his status within the global electronic music process. Supported by well-known DJs such as Hernan Cattaneo and Powel, it’s a true gem in a discography that’s littered with highlights. The last few years have been equally fruitful for Mitrani. Now a firm fixture in some of the globe’s best-known labels, he’s repped everyone from Pablo Bolivar’s Seven Villas, Lee Burridge & Hoj’s Tale & Tone to Maurice Aymard’s Galaktika over past while, with Hernan Cattaneo, Guy Mantzur, Khen, Gabriel Ananda and ‪Danny Howells‬ all regularly supporting his music in their sets. Production duties aside, Mitrani has also shared the stage with the likes of Guy J, &Me, Michael Mayer, Guy Mantzur, Patrice Baumel, Rampa and Jeremy Olander. Aside from appearing alongside the latter list, he’s also rocked stages recently in Ibiza as well as at Off Sonar and Burning Man: proof if needed that this is a man currently on a fierce upward trajectory. Yo! Welcome to another edition of Space Safari Expeditions. This month we have an amazing guest who is doing a lot of really great things both as a DJ and Producer as well as his hugely successful label Suara. Besides being an artist with a incredibly heavy tour and release schedule he has dedicated himself and his label to rescuing animals in need, which for me, says everything I need to know about him as a person. After I released on Suara earlier this year, I met Coyu at Watergate and was such a pleasant experience to meet someone with absolutely zero ego and a heart of gold. Im also playing with him on June 1st in Antwerp at Cafe De Anvers for my friends Joyhauser and then again for the Be@TV Suara In-store at Off Sonar, so i couldn’t be happier to have him for a Space Safari Expeditions as we make our way into these gigs this summer together. Inspiriert durch Hip-Hop und Funk Musik, fing ich im Jahre 2013 an meine ersten Tech-House Vinyl Platten zu kaufen. Mir wurde sehr schnell Bewusst, dass mich diese Art von Musik, mein Leben begleiten wird. Ich war gefangen vom Rhythmus und von den treibenden Bässen. Daraufhin fing ich eine Ausbildung zum Tontechniker an und jobbte parallel in einem Tonstudio. Ziemlich schnell hatte ich meine ersten Gigs in der Schweiz. Im 2014 folgte der erste Gig im Techno Mekka Berlin. Ich bekam die Möglichkeit im ältesten Club Berlins zu spielen, im Golden Gate. Es war eine grosse Ehre für mich als ich dann Resident wurde für die legendäre Golden Times Party, die immer dienstags steigt. Nachdem öffneten sich viele Türen. Ich spielte in schweizer renommierten Clubs wie: Fridas Büxe, Hive, Dachstock, Kaschemme, Bagatelle, Kapitel, Hangar 11, Kugl und auch am Open Air St.Gallen. Meine Reise ging auch ins Ausland, ich durfte in den berühmten Berliner Szenen Clubs spielen wie : Sisyphos, Salon zur wilden Renate, Ritter Buzke, Kosmonaut, Golden Gate, Birgit und Bier, Klunkerkranich und Tresor. Unvergesslich war auch der Trip nach Barcelona wo ich an der OFF Sonar spielen durfte. Währenddessen erhielt ich die Möglichkeit einen Podcast für das Label Cadenza aufzunehmen. Ich war überwältigt.
