Mom Jen Strouse and her hero/son EJ have faced more health challenges in his 10 years than most families will face in a lifetime. Born with just one kidney that wasn't fully functioning, he eventually received a kidney transplant that unfortunately came with even more complications. Chicago Public Schools' Deputy Chief Talent Officer Jerry Taylor's college experience was turned upside down when he learned he was living with a rare kidney disease – one that would later claim the lives of his mother and beloved sister. It's National Minority Donor Awareness month, a time to raise awareness about the need for organ donors in diverse communities.More than 104,000 people are on the national transplant waiting list, and 60% of them are from minority communities.In Indiana, hundreds of Black, Hispanic, and Asian residents are waiting for a match.Many of these communities are more likely to develop conditions that can lead to organ failure.In Indiana, 335 Black people need an organ transplant as well as 107 Hispanic and 66 Asian people. Moira Miller was a healthy, active 20-something when she learned her liver was failing and she would need a transplant.  Several decades later, she found herself in need of a combination liver and kidney transplant. Rob Russell's no stranger to hospital visits. Since his liver transplant as a baby, he's experienced a kidney transplant, two open heart surgeries, and a stroke. But thanks to the family who chose to donate their child's liver three decades ago, he's accomplished many of his dreams – including attending his dream school, working in NASCAR, fatherhood -- and he's not planning to stop dreaming any time soon.  

Let's look at the "Donor" part. The giving part.

Love is giving. Being an organ donor is giving your heart away.

What does love look like? In a practical sense...
