Sequel Summer comes to an end with one hell of a bang as Justin's dad, David Dodd (iHeartRadio), joins the boys to talk about PREDATOR 2, a movie so big, brash, loud, violent, and confusing that the appearance of Gary Busey actually provides some calm and clarity.Justin, Steve, and David try to get to the bottom of some of the movie's most pressing questions, like: “Why is the Predator in L.A.?” and “Wait, but why is the Predator in L.A.??” From script to screen, it's a gigantic, sweaty mess that seems more interested in ripping off every other '80s action franchise than in making an actual sequel to Predator.Check out David Jones on 107.9 WSRZ on iHeartRadio2025 ‘2 Sequels & A Lie' Final ScoreboardJUSTIN: 1STEVE: 0ROLLIE WILLIAMS : 0 2025 Participation Award DAVID DODDSERIES WINNERS 2024 CAMPION - STEVE (1-0)2025 CHAMPION - JUSTIN (0-1)ALL TIME STATSJUSTIN: 1STEVE: 1ROLLIE: 0SEQUEL SUMMER WILL RETURNFollow us on Instagram to stay updated about our monthly live shows!Check out more from Justin here: justindodd.rocks Check out more from Steve here: stevejhward.comdrinkgenies.com
Matt and Eric swelter in the heat wave of PREDATOR 2, a crazed, compelling sequel that expands both the lore and the size of characters' pants. It's an incredible who's who of '80s action movie faces and impressive early feature for Stephen Hopkins.
We are the Predators, and we're hunting for meaning beyond "wow that's racist" in the critically panned sequel, Predator 2 (1990). We speculate who the Predator is an analog for, how the director's background may have influenced the uh.... portrayal of certain characters, and we also suggest that the writers - Jim and John Thomas - maybe knew about the CIA's involvement in the distribution of crack in L.A. Shawn and Paul are back to continue our discussion of the best of 1990s action films. This time the guys discuss Predator and Predator 2. One is a true classic, the other is a strange oddball 90s action flick, full of contradictory ideas but which is ultimately kind of fascinating. Join the guys as they try to untangle all the threads on these wild and often awesome films.
Send us a textEric and Neil hit the way back button to the year 1990 to talk about Predator 2. It's a balls to the wall look at the hellscape of futuristic 1997. It's very entertaining, but no where near as good as the original. Put on your bullet proof vest and join us!
Its that magical time of year, when all the games are announced, and the big 3 come together! I'm talking about, wait, no, E3 is gone, but its spirit lives on, in this disjointed days of virtual press conferences. Xbox had their Games Showcase and didn't show any of the tentpoles, Summer Games Fest knocked it out of the park with Resident Evil 9, and IGN Live tried to fill in some gaps. Plus, The Phoenician Scheme, Predator Killer of Killers, and Ballerina from the World of John Wick all get reviewed.
There is a new Predator movie on Hulu right now. I thought it would be fun to upload the original crossover I did with Movie Dumpster for Predator 2. If you liked my other Predator episodes you'll love this one! It's a little dated because we recorded it before Prey came out but I think you'll all enjoy it.
Colion and Jake come with a double feature, Prey and Predator 2 and how they tie together. Also we pitch a Hobbs and Shaw crossover and try to get to the bottom of why Jake hates Tyrese.
Sometimes, you win; sometimes, you wiff! Check out this week's #actionfigures Wins and Wiffs of the week! Wait till you see this awesome pickup of a vintage toy that is just not easy to find these days. Stay on the #toyhunt folks!

Predator 2 is an ambitious but messy sequel. It deserves credit for not simply rehashing the original and for daring to expand the mythos. But its execution feels scattered, and it lacks the tight pacing and focus that made its predecessor a classic. Worth watching for fans of the franchise or sci-fi horror, but temper your expectations.
before Alien vs Predator, there was... Gary Busey vs Predator. An argument could be made that its basically the same thing, but this one also features a Danny Glover, and he is not ready for BS from either side. Join our band of ugly mofos and strap in for PREDATOR 2!!!!!! #predator #alien #danny glover #gary busey #bill paxton #sequel

Silent. Invisible. Invincible. The ultimate hunter. Directed by Stephen Hopkins, Predator 2 is the science fiction action film starring Danny Glover. It is the second installment of the Predator franchise and the sequel to 1987's Predator, with Kevin Peter Hall reprising the title role of the Predator. In line with its upcoming 35th anniversary, Luke and [co-host] go back and review this moderate box office hit. Los Angeles is enduring a heat wave and a crime wave, so the pressure on police officer Michael Harrigan (Danny Glover) to solve a strange string of murders is mounting. Harrigan thinks the culprit can be found among the warring gangs and drug cartels, but FBI Special Agent Peter Keyes (Gary Busey) knows the horrible truth: Their killer is a fearsome extraterrestrial (Kevin Peter Hall) with keen hunting abilities that include superior night vision and the power to make itself invisible.

Hosted by Andrew Quinn, Darren Mooney and Jess Dunne, this week with special guest Emmet Kirwan, The 250 is a (mostly) weekly trip through some of the best (and worst) movies ever made, as voted for by Internet Movie Database Users. New episodes are released every Saturday at 6pm GMT, with the occasional bonus episode between them. This time, Stephen Hopkins' Predator 2. In the distant future of 1997, Los Angeles descends into a gang war in the midst of an unprecedented heatwave. As local law enforcement tries to maintain some sense of order in the lawless city, an extraterrestrial visitor arrives on the scene with plans to hunt the most dangerous game of all. At time of recording, it was not ranked on the list of the best movies of all time on the Internet Movie Database.

This week Matt and I break the seal on the new Knob Creek Bourbon X Rye and discuss Predators!
New month, new theme... after spending last month looking at the past, in September we're "going back to (look at) the future!" That means we'll be talking about movies set in the future relative to film's release but in a year that has already happened in the real world. For instance: 1990's Predator 2, set in near-future 1997 in Los Angeles. Ben, Bree, Sam, and Vaz discuss the extremely sweaty, trash-strewn action of this non-Arnold sequel. Directed by Stephen Hopkins and starring Danny Glover, Gary Busey, Ruben Blades, María Conchita Alonso, Bill Paxton, and Kevin Peter Hall.
"You're one ugly--" This week we are looking at a pair of films Kevin picked for his birthday. First up is the classic Predator 2.
Tonight I'm joined again by Doug Bielmeier, teaching professor, musician, and host of The Process for another supersized installment of an ongoing series of film discussions. In this epsiode, we highlight two sequels that often get unfairly compared to their iconic predecessors. While neither Robocop 2 nor Predator 2 can match the level of the previous entries, they're both still really fun and worthwhile movies to see. Get ready for vulgar children and bad accents and enjoy! Show music by OGRE. Support the show!
This week we head to the urban jungle of LA, where a hunt is underway. Join us for Predator 2.
Season finale month continues with a LETHAL sequel that exchanges the literal jungle with a concrete version, along with a very absurd plot. That's right, we're talking PREDATOR 2 starring Danny Glover and Gary Busey. Is this a guilty pleasure, relic of filmmaking's past, or absurd monsterfest? How about all three? Find out our opinion as we breakdown this 90s special effects driven madhouse. Enjoy!
This week Chris and I discuss Predator 2 and try out Nelson Bros Black Brier.
On the penultimate episode of Silver's Streak, Charlie and Guy discuss an underrated sequel and a forgotten gem - Predator 2 and Ricochet. They discuss Danny Glover's enormous pants, why Predator is actually a slasher film, and the irresistable charisma of Denzel Washington. Keep up with all things TOFOP and more here
Lions! Tigers! Bears! Oh my! Analog Jones continues their Predator franchise review when they watch Predator 2. How does the sequel hold up with no Arnold? Quick Facts Directed by Stephen Hopkins (Second unit director on Highlander, Directed A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child and The Ghost and the Darkness) Written by Jim and John Thomas (they returned from Predator) Music by Alan Silvestri (Returned from Predator) Distributed by 20th Century Fox Released on November 21, 1990 Budget of $20–30 million Box office of $57.1 million Rotten Tomatoes: 30% Tomatometer / 44% Audience Score Starring Danny Glover as Lieutenant Mike Harrigan, an LAPD Officer who is investigating rival Jamaican and Colombian drug cartels. He is stubborn and often is criticized by the superior officers for not obeying orders. Kevin Peter Hall as City Hunter / The Predator, a member of an alien warrior race that hunts aggressive members of other species for sport, uses active camouflage and a plasma weapon, and can see in the infrared spectrum. Hall also played the Elder Predator, the leader of the Predators at the end of the film. Hal Rayle provides the voice of the Predator, replacing Peter Cullen from the first film. Gary Busey as Special Agent Peter Keyes, posed as a DEA agent leading a special task force investigating a drug conspiracy as a cover for his attempts to capture the Predator. The character is a replacement for Dutch, the protagonist of the first film, after Arnold Schwarzenegger declined to reprise the role. In this film it's indicated he sent the Special Operations team 10-years earlier. How to listen and reach Analog Jones and the Temple of Film Discuss these movies and more on our Facebook page. I couldn't hold off any longer, I had to know if I'm by myself in saying that this movie is better than the original. Like before, they have never seen this movie before either! Since they weren't blown away by the original, maybe the City Hunter can make them super fans of Predator.
