The film writer Brian Abrams returns to discuss Predator 2 (1990), directed by Stephen Hopkins. But the big change, of course, was changing out muscle bound full of machismo Ah-nold Schwarzenegger to Lethal Weapon's ‘I'm too old for this shit' Danny Glover. Listen to the latest Three Men and a Retrospective Podcast to hear Adam and Garrett recount their theatrical experiences of seeing the film (as Matt laughs at the fact it came out three years before he was born), and of course give their expectations and overall thoughts as they revisit Predator 2 for this long form review. Predator 2 is an ambitious but messy sequel. It deserves credit for not simply rehashing the original and for daring to expand the mythos. But its execution feels scattered, and it lacks the tight pacing and focus that made its predecessor a classic. Worth watching for fans of the franchise or sci-fi horror, but temper your expectations.

Silent. Invisible. Invincible. The ultimate hunter. Directed by Stephen Hopkins, Predator 2 is the science fiction action film starring Danny Glover. It is the second installment of the Predator franchise and the sequel to 1987's Predator, with Kevin Peter Hall reprising the title role of the Predator. In line with its upcoming 35th anniversary, Luke and [co-host] go back and review this moderate box office hit. Los Angeles is enduring a heat wave and a crime wave, so the pressure on police officer Michael Harrigan (Danny Glover) to solve a strange string of murders is mounting. Harrigan thinks the culprit can be found among the warring gangs and drug cartels, but FBI Special Agent Peter Keyes (Gary Busey) knows the horrible truth: Their killer is a fearsome extraterrestrial (Kevin Peter Hall) with keen hunting abilities that include superior night vision and the power to make itself invisible.
