You know it's WrestleMania season when Raw Women's Champion Becky Lynch returns to WrestleRant Radio! The duo also discuss Edge's WrestleMania opponent, how WWE has ruined Damian Priest's momentum and overall thoughts on Wednesday's edition of AEW Dynamite featuring the debut of Buddy Matthews, an outstanding promo from MJF, and the improvement in Adam Page's presentation.

SiriusXM Canada Host and Senior Producer of Podcast Operations Bilal Vakani and Second City's Daniel Shehori preview the 2022 WWE Elimination Chamber. It looks like WWE is afraid to rock the boat too much before WrestleMania. In the WWE Championship Elimination Chamber Match Bobby Lashley defends against Seth Rollins, Austin Theory, Riddle, Brock Lesnar and AJ Styles. Despite a good field of competitors there are only a couple probable winners. Universal Champion Roman Reigns vs. Goldberg in a match no one really asked for and is a bit too late to really spark anyone's attention. Raw Women's Champion Becky Lynch vs. Lita with some great promo work but 0 matches beyond the Royal Rumble for Lita this one could be very disappointing. Ronda Rousey & Naomi vs. SmackDown Women's Champion Charlotte Flair & Sonya Deville in a match Dan expected to be on Smackdown not a premium live event. Liv Morgan vs. Rhea Ripley vs. Bianca Belair vs. Doudrop vs. Nikki A.S.H. vs. Alexa Bliss (Winner earns an opportunity at the Raw Women's Title at WrestleMania). This match offers the biggest toss up of the night that could steal the show. SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos vs. Viking Raiders in a match that would make more sense closer to WrestleMania itself. Drew McIntyre vs. Madcap Moss (Falls Count Anywhere Match) in a Royal Rumble rematch that will lead us to a WrestleMania match with very little interest. Rey Mysterio vs. The Miz in a match I honestly forgot was on the card.
SiriusXM Canada Host and Producer Bilal Vakani, Second City's Daniel Shehori and Never Sleep Network's Alex Ross preview the 2022 WWE Royal Rumble. The three of them all agree that Edge and Beth Phoenix will defeat the Miz and Maryse in their first match as a tag team. Also that Raw Women's Champion Becky Lynch will retain her Women's title against Doudrop. As well as Universal Champion Roman Reigns defending his title against Seth Rollins. However, things are less clear when it comes to Brock Lesnar and Bobby Lashley for the WWE Champion match. In a match that could see Lashley regain the title. As for the Men's Royal Rumble Team Alex is: Brock Lesnar, AJ Styles, Sheamus, Rey Mysterio, Happy Corbin, Dominik Mysterio, Drew McIntyre, Johnny Knoxville, Dolph Ziggler and Edge, Team Dan: Omos, Austin Theory, Kevin Owen, Bron Breakker, Gunter, Shane Mchamon, Otis, LA King, Chad Gable and Cody Rhodes. Team Bilal: Big E, Riddle, Randy Orton, Seth Rollins, Bobby Lashley, Damien Priest, Sami Zayn, Kofi Kingston, Xavier Wood and Cesaro. And in the Women's Royal Rumble Team Alex: Bianca, Belair, Asuka, Sasha Banks, Shayna, Paige, Carmella, Tamina, Kelly Kelly, Dana Brooke and Brie Bella Team Dan: Ronda Rousey, Bayley, Naomi, Lita, Mickie James, Sonya Deville, Mandy Rose, Xia Li, Trish Stratus and Big Swole. Team Bilal: Alexa Bliss, Rhea Ripley, Charlotte, Liv Morgan, Nikki Bella, Nikki Ash, Raquel Gonzalez, Queen Zelina, Io and Natayla. Overall it looks to be a show that offers more then it can possibly deliver.
Dave LaGreca and Mark Henry are joined by AEW Tag Team, FTR. Dax and Cash talk AEW, the legacy they're determined to leave, and fire back at comments made by The Briscoes on Busted Open last week. Breaking News development from Wednesday night. A clock has been ordered for Adam Cole. Cole is the NXT Champion and WWE issued a Tick Tock to him on Twitter. Karrion Kross replied with a YES. This means WWE is creating a match between Kross and Cole for the next NXT Takeover. Adam Cole responded that everyone is gunning for him because he is the champ. He stated that he is not scared of Karrion Kross and “to go play Halloween somewhere else.”Finn Balor vs. Keith Lee for the North American Championship.Back to Backlash…Backlash is the upcoming event that is scheduled this Sunday with all the matches taking place at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. While the majority of the event will be aired live, the match between Edge and Randy Orton was pre-recorded on June 7. This will be the 15th event of Backlash. It first started in 1999 when Stone Cold Steve Austin retained the WWF championship belt by defeating The Rock in a No Holds Barred Match. Shane McMahon was a special guest referee. Backlash would eventually stop in 2009 and restart in 2016 when AJ Styles defeated (then) Dean Ambrose to become the new WWE Champion. Also, Becky Lynch won the six-pack elimination challenge to become the first WWE Smackdown Women's Champion over Alexa Bliss, Carmella, Naomi, Natalya, and Nikki Bella. This year's backlash has a built-in tension in each of the match cards. As we get set to make our predictions, here are the following matches:Edge vs. Randy OrtonAt Royal Rumble, WWE Hall of Famer Edge, who was forced to retire in 2011 due to a neck injury, returned during the Royal Rumble match and eliminated Randy Orton; Edge was soon be eliminated by Roman Reigns. The feud became very personal and Edge defeated Orton in a Last Man Standing match during WrestleMania 36. About a month later, Orton said that the better man won at WrestleMania, but questioned Edge if the better wrestler had actually won. The two times they encountered each other were non-traditional matches. Orton challenged Edge to a normal singles match at Backlash; Edge accepted the following week. WWE is calling the match as "The Greatest Wrestling Match Ever".Drew McIntyre vs. Bobby Lashley for the WWE ChampionshipOn the May 11 episode of Raw, (MVP) approached Bobby Lashley backstage and praised him on his victory from earlier that night. However, he questioned why Lashley was facing a mid-carder while King Corbin was being invited over from SmackDown to face WWE Champion Drew McIntyre in a non-title match. MVP noted that Lashley had not had a WWE Championship opportunity since 2007 and questioned when Lashley would show his true self. Lashley then aligned himself with MVP, which also enraged Lashley's wife Lana. The following week, Lashley and MVP observed McIntyre's match against Corbin from the stage. After McIntyre defeated Corbin, McIntyre stated he wanted to face Lashley, who was held back by MVP. On the May 25 episode, it was confirmed that McIntyre would defend the WWE Championship against Lashley at Backlash.Braun Strowman vs. The Miz & John Morrison in a Handicap Match for the Universal Championship. At Money in the Bank, Braun Strowman defeated Bray Wyatt to retain the Universal Championship. On the following episode of SmackDown, Strowman teamed with Mr. Money in the Bank Otis to defeat The Miz and John Morrison. The following week, Miz and Morrison criticized Strowman for teaming with Otis (whom they made fun of the week prior) and then stated their loss the previous week was unfair. Miz taunted Strowman about his match with Wyatt and questioned if Wyatt was actually finished with Strowman. Morrison then seemingly issued a challenge for Miz to face Strowman, who accepted and defeated Miz. Following the match, Morrison challenged Strowman to defend the Universal Championship against himself and Miz in a handicap match at Backlash, which was made official.Asuka vs. Nia JaxAt Money in the Bank, Asuka won the women's Money in the Bank ladder match. The following night on Raw, Raw Women's Champion Becky Lynch revealed that she was pregnant and announced a hiatus for maternity leave and that the ladder match was actually for the title instead of a contract that granted a championship match, thus Asuka became the new Raw Women's Champion. On the May 25 episode, Nia Jax, who was also in the ladder match, defeated Charlotte Flair and Natalya in a triple threat match to become the number one contender against Asuka for the title at Backlash.Jeff Hardy vs. SheamusThis feud took a wild turn with Sheamus setting up Jeff Hardy to make it look as if he was not only driving under the influence but took out Elias with the car as well. This heated rivalry will reach the next stage now with the two set to meet one-on-one at Backlash. Women's Tag Team Championship Triple Threat MatchBayley & Sasha Bank vs. Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross vs. The IIconics (Billie Kay and Peyton Royce)Banks and Bayley managed to win the titles from Cross and Bliss on the June 5 edition of SmackDown. The win kicked off their second reign as champions and further built on the cracks showing between the best friends with Banks having to save the team after Bayley attempted to steal the glory. The IIconics returned to action in May, immediately challenging then-champs Cross and Bliss and picking up a non-title win. In the title match that followed, a mid-match temper tantrum led to a disqualification. - Winner will defend the title against Shotzi Blackheart and Tegon Nox at NXT Wednesday night. United States ChampionshipApollo Crews vs. AndradeThe rivalry between these two men will be renewed at Backlash. Andrade took Crews out of Money in the Bank, injuring his knee in a United States title match in the lead to the pay-per-view. Crews would come back to win the belt off Andrade, winning a major championship for the first time during his WWE run. Andrade earned a shot to get his title back by winning a triple threat match against Angel Garza and Kevin Owens on the June 8 edition of Raw.
This has been another horrible week in our business. Sunday afternoon reports surfaced that Cryme Time member Shad Gaspard was missing after a swimming mishap where he was carried by an undertow into the Pacific Ocean. On Monday women's wrestling legend Olga Martinez passed away. Tuesday night we all watched an emotional season finale of Dark Side Of The Ring which covered the late Owen Hart that had us crying throughout the hour. Wednesday morning we got the news we all feared when Shad Gaspard's body washed ashore in Venice, Ca. Tonight we will pay tribute to Shad and talk about the situations involving the accident that took Owen from us. We'll also talk about ideas that we have been knocking around that we feel would be good subject matter for next season. Lest we forget because of all the other situations happening in the world and in wrestling AEW does have their Double Or Nothing pay per view scheduled for this Saturday night. Last night was their go home show which aired live and quite a few things happened that were not good, two of which could alter matches for Saturday, including the main event. A week ago former RAW Women's Champion Becky Lynch relinquished the title when she announced she was pregnant. Well Jim Cornette said something about it which upset Becky's fiance Seth Rollins and he responded to Cornette. We will examine all these stories and many more - TONIGHT.

In this episode of the RTW Raw Review Show Rob and Jon break down Monday Night Raw from Washington , DC!At the 2020 WWE Royal Rumble, we witnessed the long-awaited return of “The Rated R Superstar” Edge. It was meant to be a monumental night, and it was…until he ran into an old friend named Randy Orton. The night after the Rumble, Orton viciously assaulted Edge and left him in a battered heap in the middle of the ring. In the weeks since that attack, Orton has delivered similar attacks. But last week, Orton went above and beyond the call of duty when he hit Edge's wife Beth Phoenix with an RKO.Now he'll face the consequences of his actions, as Edge is slated to make his return to Raw this week. It's a given that Edge will have his sights set on destroying his former “Rated RKO” partner, but Orton will likely have a game plan ready. How will The Viper react, when Edge storms the ring this week in DC?On Sunday night at Elimination Chamber, The Street Profits retained the Raw Tag Team titles with a win over Seth Rollins and Murphy. Rollins had the AOP running interference, but the Viking Raiders put a stop to that and chased them to the back. Who will step up to challenge the animated champions next? And will the AOP be looking for retribution against the Viking Raiders? Also at Elimination Chamber, we saw a brutal match inside the unfriendly confines, as six of Raw's best stepped into the chamber. Raw Women's Champion Becky Lynch stood by a backstage monitor and watched Shayna Baszler simply steamroll her way through every woman in the cage. As a result, Baszler officially punched her ticket for WrestleMania. Given the last few weeks and the confrontations with Becky Lynch, what will happen as these two are now on a collision course for Tampa? And of course, we know that Brock Lesnar will defend the WWE Championship against Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania. Last week, McIntyre floored the champion with Claymore Kicks and stood tall holding the title. It will be interesting to see if the two will be on hand to continue their war.So grab some snacks and settle in and immerse yourself in the most comprehensive breakdown of RAW as only RTW can provide!Check out our new website!www.rcpodnetwork.comCheck out our Pro Wrestling Tees Store!www.prowrestlingtees.com/radturtleswrestlingSend your questions for our mailbag to:RadTurtlesWrestling@gmail.comFollow Jon Wanglund on Twitter :@WWR PodcastFollow RTW on Twitter:@RadTurtlesPODFollow Rob on Twitter:@RadRobGamingOur podcast is a proud member of the Reality Check Podcast Network!Follow the Network for all breaking news on Twitter!@RpodcastNetworkFollow Our Twitch Channels: twitch.tv/radrobgamingtwitch.tv/radturtleswrestlingWe appreciate all of YOU for YOUR support!
In this episode of the RTW Raw Review Show Jon and Richie break down Monday Night Raw from Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada.Just over a month away from WrestleMania, WWE takes the red brand north of the border for a live Monday Night Raw. Here's what we can expect this week.Randy Orton has done unthinkable acts in recent weeks, since sending Edge to the hospital the night after his big return at the Royal Rumble. On two occasions since then, The Viper has viciously assaulted Matt Hardy and sent him to the hospital. Last week, Hardy felt the second dose of Orton's wrath, when he showed up in an neck brace to question Orton's actions. Who else will step up to the Apex Predator, and stand up for the Rated R Superstar? It's been a couple of weeks since we last saw WWE Champion Brock Lesnar when he left Ricochet in a battered heap in the ring. With Super ShowDown just three days away, Lesnar and Paul Heyman are scheduled to be in the ring. Will this just be another beating that the champion lays out for Ricochet, or will the challenger have a few tricks up his sleeve this week? After Shayna Baszler took a literal bite out of Raw Women's Champion Becky Lynch recently, one would think it'd be a bit of a crazy move to put the two in the same building again. But the two are both scheduled for Raw this week, and who knows what will happen. Could it be a preview of what we see at WrestleMania in April? Or will they even make it that far?So grab some snacks and settle in and immerse yourself in the most comprehensive breakdown of RAW as only RTW can provide!Check out our new website!www.rcpodnetwork.comCheck out our Pro Wrestling Tees Store!www.prowrestlingtees.com/radturtleswrestlingSend your questions for our mailbag to:RadTurtlesWrestling@gmail.comFollow Jon Wanglund on Twitter :@WWR PodcastFollow RTW on Twitter:@RadTurtlesPODFollow Rob on Twitter:@RadRobGamingOur podcast is a proud member of the Reality Check Podcast Network!Follow the Network for all breaking news on Twitter!@RpodcastNetworkFollow Our Twitch Channels: twitch.tv/radrobgamingtwitch.tv/radturtleswrestlingWe appreciate all of YOU for YOUR support!
In this episode of the RTW Raw Review Show Rad Rob and Jonny Podcasting break down Monday Night Raw from Des Moines! The final WWE pay per view of the decade has come and gone, and now it's time to shift the focus to close out the year and start preparing for the Royal Rumble. But did we get more questions than answers after TLC: Tables, Ladders, and Chairs? The WWE Women's Tag Team Champions, The Kabuki Warriors, survived a brutal TLC match against Charlotte Flair and Raw Women's Champion Becky Lynch. In the end, Asuka and Kairi Sane retained the titles. But have we heard the last of The Queen and The Man? Surely they won't go quietly after such a hard-fought match.Buddy Murphy has been trying to pick a fight with Aleister Black over the last few weeks, and got his fight at TLC. But at the end of the night, it was WWE's “best kept secret” meeting the wrong end of a Black Mass kick. Did Murphy learn his lesson, or would he try to pick another fight? It was announced at TLC that one match we would see this week on Raw will be A.J. Styles taking on Randy Orton. This has been a feud brewing over the last month or so. Does “The Phenomenal One” have enough tricks up he sleeve to knock off Orton, or is there another RKO in his future? Also, with everything that's gone on with Seth Rollins joining forces with the Authors of Pain, that's bad news for one Kevin Owens. But now that we know about this alliance, and given the attack last week, how will Owens respond? Things could get crazy if KO gets his hands on the trio.So grab some snacks and settle in and immerse yourself in the most comprehensive breakdown of RAW as only RTW can provide!Check out our Pro Wrestling Tees Store!www.prowrestlingtees.com/radturtleswrestlingSend your questions for our mailbag to:RadTurtlesWrestling@gmail.comFollow Jon Wanglund on Twitter :@WWR PodcastFollow RTW on Twitter:@RadTurtlesPODFollow Rob on Twitter:@RadRobGamingOur podcast is a proud member of the Reality Check Podcast Network!Follow the Network for all breaking news on Twitter!@RpodcastNetworkFollow Our Twitch Channels: twitch.tv/radrobgamingtwitch.tv/radturtleswrestlingWe appreciate all of YOU for YOUR support!
