On March 27, 2004, 21-year-old Jennifer Wix and her 2-year-old daughter, Adrianna, were reported missing. They hadn't been seen or heard from since March 25, when Jennifer told multiple family members she was scared and unhappy living with her boyfriend, Joey Benton, and his parents in their rural Robertson County, Tennessee home. When asked where Jennifer and Adrianna were, Joey gave multiple conflicting stories before settling on one—claiming he had dropped them off at a gas station on the night of the 25th, where they got into a white four-door car with two people he didn't know. But nothing about this story, or the others, made sense. As Jennifer's family searched for answers, they uncovered contradictions, missing details, and a troubling history of control and isolation, all of which left them questioning…what really happened to Jennifer and Adrianna Wix? While we work on our monthly episode about GRANT SOLOMON, we thought you may want to hear about another case in Tennessee that we covered on The Outlier Podcast:21-year-old JENNIFER WIX and her 2-year-old toddler ADRIANNA were last heard from on March 25, 2004, in Robertson County, Tennessee. The last person to allegedly have seen the mother and toddler was JENNIFER'S then boyfriend, JOEY BENTON. The two had an "on-again, off-again," tumultuous relationship, and BENTON'S father, JOE SR. has a dangerous criminal past, while BENTON himself has a history of violence. There were also possible allegations (and/or theories) of ADRIANNA potentially being molested, but the BENTON family quickly dismissed those claims. Fast forward to 2024, JOE BENTON SR. is serving time for the sexual exploitation of a minor. My chat with Callie Daruk is positively gripping. She doesn't mince words and goes straight to the heart of the matter: she admits that she was a woman who hypocritically professed God with her mouth, but in her heart she was far from Him (Isa. 29:13)--this is ultimately what brought her to her knees. Callie shares the heart wrenching saga of parenting children with special needs. Her conclusion and word for you is to KNOW God, really know Him. Callie Daruk is an award-winning author and speaker who encourages others to seek Christ with their whole heart. She serves as the Chapter President of Word Weavers Int., Robertson County. Her writing has appeared in Guideposts, The Upper Room, Focus on the Family, Kids Clubhouse, Charisma, Just 18 Summers, and Nashville Christian Voice magazines. About her devotional book, *What Does God Want You to do Before You Die? Death will come certainly but it may come suddenly.Through her own struggle to find purpose, author Callie Daruk opens our eyes to the importance and urgency of fulfilling our callings. Her thought-provoking reflections cause you to look into your own heart and stir you to ask for yourself the question we should all be asking, What Does God Want You to do Before You Die?It's time to take a long hard look at ourselves. Have we as Christians asked what it is we're supposed to be doing with our lives? Have we accomplished what we've set out to accomplish? What are the gifts and callings God has placed on our lives and are we using them? These 30 devotions are designed to help you discover at least one thing God wants you to do before you die and launch you toward accomplishing it. A Middle Tennessee Business Podcast...In 2013, I met Dr. Grant Bell just as he was beginning his current role as Principal of Springfield Middle School in Springfield, TN. The school he was inheriting had a myriad of issues mostly due to culture problems. A hopelessness felt amongst the faculty trickled down to the students who came from troubled home lives. Then, Dr. Bell decided to call the students, “scholars”.What transpired over the following years is something of a miracle. Small cultural shifts that Dr. Bell implemented had seismic effects. Springfield Middle School went from a place that parents fought for their kids to avoid to what is now the Innovation Academy of Robertson County. It is a grade 6-12 Magnet STEAM school that takes hundreds of applications for attendance every year. From Dr. Bell:“I graduated from Springfield High School (TN), have an undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama, and three graduate degrees: Masters- Tennessee State University, Education Specialist- Austin Peay State University, and an Education Doctorate from Tennessee State University. I served as a teacher for 11 years at Greenbrier Middle School, in Greenbrier , Tennessee, and served as assistant principal at Springfield Middle School for 2 years, and am currently in my 11th year as principal. Our school has transitioned from a traditional middle school (6-8) to a 6-12 magnet school, the Innovation Academy of Robertson County.I was blessed with wonderful parents, and grandparents. My grandfather Bell was the principal of my current school from 1938-1959. My grandfather Murphey was a tobacco and cow farmer. I learned leadership lessons from both that guide decisions I make to this very day.”Learn more about Dr. Bell and the Innovation Academy:https://sms.rcstn.net/*****SUBSCRIBE/RATE/FOLLOW What's Your Problem?
