Joseph, the owner of Contractor Dynamics, the leading marketing training company for the construction industry, joins us for episode 199 of The SBG Show. After growing up as a 6th generation family member in his family's construction company, he started Contractor Dynamics in 2013 because he saw a need in the market to help roofing & contracting companies create predictable growth by leveraging social and digital marketing.
After spending time as a touring musician and finishing degrees in business and software systems from the University of Washington, he started his first company in 2000. That business, Venafi, was sold for $1.2 billion in 2020. After leaving the day-to-day operations of Venafi, Ben proceeded to start nine companies, with the most recent being JobNimbus, a software and growth solution for roofing and home exterior contractors. JobNimbus was created after Ben and his two friends found themselves in the orbit of a project aimed at accountability for homeowners who needed roof replacements. Their drive for problem-solving and helping others lead them to develop this creative solution.
This episode our guest is the one and only Jen Silver! You may have heard of Jen through the One Industry One Model event. Although Jen Silver has only been in the industry for 5 years, she has been a great influence in having others rethink the “norm” within the industry. Jen continues to bring new concepts to the way business has been done traditionally. Her current focus is on helping contractors understand the importance of running their business by the numbers and getting out of the claims process by incorporating the retail model. Jen understands that people have a choice in how they do business, but whatever model they choose, they should know how to be profitable and sustainable because that's what matters the most to the future of our industry.

James runs a lead follow up service for contractors where he and his team help manage calls, texts, and confirms leads for clients and booking them into appointments. James has been in this business for 2 years, and he has helped educate roofers on how to establish simple processes on keeping track of leads, referrals and following up with potential clients.
