We have talked about the death of Shanquella Robinson and the mystery surrounding her death in five precious episodes. They are labeled S2. Please go back and listen to understand more about this case. In this episode we run a special that Tonya Rivens produced with Under the Crown. This is Tonya's description October 29th will mark the one-year anniversary of the death of Shanquella Robinson. Although no one has been charged in Shanquella's homicide, Robinson's father, Bernard Robinson, says he knows that justice will be served. On October 28, 2022 Shanquella Robinson traveled to the luxury Fundadores Beach Club in San José del Cabo, Mexico with six others. Less than 24 hours later, Robinson was dead. Her travel companions told the family that Shanquella died from alcohol poisoning. A viral video revealed that Shanquella was physically assaulted prior to her death. Mexican authorities stated that an autopsy disclosed that the 25-year-old suffered from severe neck and spine injuries. In November 2022, Mexican authorities issued arrest warrants for femicide and asked for the suspect to be extradited. Some legal experts say it's not common for the U.S. to extradite its citizens. According to Bernard, Shanquella was friends with only one person in the group, Khalil Cooke. And when asked about Khalil's friendship with his daughter, Bernard replied, "to be her best friend, you know truly, he wasn't no friend." Robinson says it feels like the group of 6, also called the Cabo 6, has been allowed to commit a crime, return to the U.S., and to not be held accountable. In April of this year, the F.B.I. stated that they would not pursue federal charges at the time due to lack of evidence. Bernard says that he was angered and still gets upset at times, but he believes that there will be justice. "God's gonna still bring justice, and that's how I'm gonna stand," he says. Bernard says that he's had to stand on his faith in God and take each day by day over the past year. He also has a letter written by a family friend and church member to share with the Cabo 6. She's been called America's daughter however Shanquella's story has touched the lives of people around the world. Last October a 25-year-old, North Carolina woman named Shanquella Robinson went on a trip to Cabo Mexico with a group of six people she called ‘friends'. A day later she is found dead in the villa the group rented, with the ‘friends' telling Robinson's family that Shanquella died of alcohol poisoning, although the death certificate read very differently. It stated Shanquella suffered a spinal cord injury, and not only that, a video of Shanquella being violently assaulted was also discovered. But so far the US and Mexican governments have yet to make an arrest. Let's see if we can figure out why. Attorneys Ben Crump and Sue-Ann Robinson have sent a letter to President Joe Biden and Secretary of State Antony Blinken calling for the White House to take action in Robinson's death. The attorneys, on behalf of mother Salamandra Robinson, encourage the U.S. to extradite Shanquella's killer to Mexico or the U.S. takes jurisdiction of the case. An FBI investigation is underway. Shanquilla Robinson traveled from North Carolina to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico with friends. It is one of those friends who stand accused in Robinson's death. According to a Mexican police report, a doctor was called to assist Robinson around 2 p.m. The doctor insisted on taking her to the hospital, but her friends refused. According to Robinson's death certificate, she died from a severe spinal cord injury and a broken neck. Doctors call the injury an internal decapitation. A video surfaced after Robinson death showing her being beaten by one of the traveling friends. The documents submitted to the White House named the friend and calls for her to be extradited to face charges. It's sad that we live in a world where people that you call friends, might not be as loyal as they portray themselves to be. Shanquella Robinson, a 25-year-old entrepreneur, life was cut short when she took a trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico with 6 friends back in October 2022. Her friends plotted a heinous attack on her that left her with a spinal cord injury and later took her life. These no-good, so called friends tried to say that Shanquella suffered from alcohol poisoning. The autopsy and video recording told a different story. It's disturbing when your “best friend” watches on and records the entire incident on video, but does nothing to stop the beating by intervening; however, you hear his insensitive comment, “Girl, at least try to fight back”. With friends like that, who needs enemies? On January 7, 2023, Tyre Nichols was beaten by 5 African American Memphis police officers, and he succumbed to his injuries 3 days later. These police officers should not be in a position of power because it's clear that they do not honor the badge they were given. There is a video circulating online of the beating that has been viewed all around the country. The officers lied and said that Tyre was resisting arrest and the video clearly shows otherwise. Several months later, all the officers were fired and charged though they've pleaded not guilty. These are both on-going investigations and we believe justice will be served and closure will be had for both families of the victims. Shanquella Robinson was murdered while she was on vacation with what she thought was a group of friends in Mexico. However, the events that transpired soon after they arrived in Cabo told a completely different story. According to reports and video, Shanquella Robinson was beaten to death. The beating was even caught on video. Yet, there still hasn't been an arrest and now Shanquella's family is going all the way to the top, demanding action from the President of the United States. Shanquella Robinson, 25, went to Cabo, Mexico with friends for a luxurious getaway in October, 2022. She did not survive the weekend. There were conflicting reports about what caused her death but a shocking cell phone video revealed that Shanquella suffered a brutal beating by one of the women she considered a friend. Shanquella's friends and family are still waiting for justice to be served. This story will leave you shocked and heartbroken. #justiceforshanquellarobinson
She sat there listening to the man sitting in front of her. She had trusted him before all of this - but now, he was blubbering about what happened. All 6 of the vacationers would find their way to her house to tell her what happened on their Mexico trip. All of them had their own version of events, but it wasn't adding up. How come they all left for Mexico together as “friends,” but they left her daughter, Shanquella, in Mexico? Why was her daughter's body being held in a foreign coroner's medical office? Why were these so-called “friends” lying about her daughter's death? Who needs enemies when you have friends like these? Shanquella Robinson and six of her friend take a vacation to San José del Cabo in Mexico. One day later, the 25-year-old is dead. Salamondra Robinson spoke with her daughter the day before she died and tells Nancy Grace that all seemed well. Robinson said she was having a good time. Initially, Robinson's mother was told by the friends that Shanquella had died from alcohol poisoning, but the autopsy told a different story. Robinson's died due to “severe spinal cord injury and atlas luxation.” Atlas luxation means an instability or excessive movement in the top neck vertebrae. A viral video surface of Robinson being beaten inside her room. She is seen being thrown to the floor and beaten on the head. Now Mexican authorities have issued an arrest warrant for one of the women traveling with Robinson. A name has not been released but authorities want the suspect extradited back to Mexico to face charges. As yet, what those charges may be has not been named.
