Jesus appeared to many people after he was resurrected. Let us look into these Bible stories, and listen as I share a story of my own. Matthew 5:8 says, “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.”
We are eternally grateful for our salvation. May this result in our grateful worship to Him who saved us.
A @Christadelphians Video: # Summary This presentation explores the fundamental principles of the Christian faith, particularly the doctrine of the Atonement. It delves into the biblical account of the Fall of man, the resulting sinful state of humanity, and the need for sacrifice and forgiveness as outlined in the Old Testament. ### Highlights

When the author of Hebrews makes the negative case concerning the blood of Christ, its significance is far-reaching.

Returning to Hebrews chapter 9, we see the centrality of the death of Christ in His Messianic mission. In fact, the author switches his emphasis from Covenant to Testament to show us that it is only through the death of Christ that we might receive the many promises of God that are made to us in Christ. Join us as we marvel at the love and grace of God seen in the mission of Christ.

Tuesday January 24, 2023 The laws of God tell us how to get along. In fact, modern western society, swims in the waters of Christian laws of morality. Hundreds of years ago in Christian Europe laws were constructed for the state, which were based on the Bible, and from that biblical perspective came the idea that every human, rich or poor, has natural rights. The Magna Carta and the Declaration of Independence state this idea as if it had always been. for full notes: https://www.cgtruth.org/index.php?proc=msg&sf=vw&tid=2751

This week we'll be studying Hebrews 9:11-22, under the theme of "The Shedding of Blood." Many people today like the idea of a loving God, but the moment you start talking about bloody sacrifices, they perceive it as an unnecessary and barbaric holdover from ancient, violent people. But what is blood? Why were blood sacrifices necessary for God's people? What is the role of Jesus' bloody sacrifice, and where does blood fit in regarding us as living sacrifices? This text takes us back to the necessity of blood sacrifices, the Great High Priest's blood sacrifices, and how allowing ourselves to be drained of some life can still mean life for others today.

1. God's justice satisfied in the shedding of Christ's blood-2. God's mercy poured in the shedding of Christ's blood
Two questions today: A listener wonders what his father is doing in Heaven and we discuss why blood is so central to Christianity. Why is it necessary for there to be blood poured out so that somebody might be forgiven?

Selected Scriptures
Hebrews 9:15-22 ESV 15 Therefore he is the mediator of a new covenant, so that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance, since a death has occurred that redeems them from the transgressions committed under the first covenant. 16 For where a will is involved, the death of the one who made it must be established. 17 For a will takes effect only at death, since it is not in force as long as the one who made it is alive. 18 Therefore not even the first covenant was inaugurated without blood. 19 For when every commandment of the law had been declared by Moses to all the people, he took the blood of calves and goats, with water and scarlet wool and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book itself and all the people, 20 saying, “This is the blood of the covenant that God commanded for you.” 21 And in the same way he sprinkled with the blood both the tent and all the vessels used in worship. 22 Indeed, under the law almost everything is purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins. WITHOUT THE SHEDDING OF BLOOD THERE IS NO FORGIVENESS OF SINS. During the time of Moses, he saw to it that he obeyed the commandment of the law. For, under the law almost everything is purified with blood. Thus, he conscientiously ‘took the blood of calves and goats, with water and scarlet wool and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book itself and all the people, saying, “This is the blood of the covenant that God commanded for you.” And in the same way he sprinkled with the blood both the tent and all the vessels used in worship.' [v.20-21] We should note that this quote, ‘This is the blood of the covenant that God commanded for you' is from Ex 24:8. There is a change accorded with Christ's introduction of the New Testament, recorded in Luke 22:20, "This cup (is) the New Testament in my blood, which is shed for you." It is the only Gospel in which the "is" has to be supplied, as here. Thus, Christ has sealed the new covenant with His blood. The Lord's supper is the sacramental sign. In certain respect the covenants God made with humankind are similar to wills. With all wills, the person who made the will must die before the beneficiaries experience any effects of the will. The testator [one who makes the will] was represented by the animals slain in the old dispensation [ from Adam to Christ]. In both dispensations the inheritance was bequeathed: In the old, it's by Christ but being typically present. However, in the new, Christ has come in person and died. For where a will is involved, the death of the one who made it must be established. For a will takes effect only at death, since it is not in force as long as the one who made it is alive. Therefore, Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, so that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance, since a death has occurred that redeems them from the transgressions committed under the first covenant. Jesus' death, that is His blood shed, is the only and final means of redemption for you and me. “The blood that Jesus shed for me.” By Andrae Crouch The blood that Jesus shed for me Way back on Calvary The blood that gives me strength From day to day It will never lose its power It reaches to the highest mountain It flows to the lowest valley The blood that gives me strength From day to day It will never lose its power It soothes my doubts and calms my fears And it dries all my tears The blood that gives me strength From day to day It will never lose its power It reaches to the highest mountain It flows to the lowest valley The blood that gives me strength From day to day It will never lose its power

This do, as often as you drink [it], in remembrance of Me." 26 For as often as you eat this BREAD and drink this CUP, you PROCLAIM THE LORD'S DEATH till He comes. 27 Therefore whoever eats this bread or drinks [this] cup of the Lord in an UNWORTHY MANNER will be guilty of the BODY and BLOOD of the Lord. 28 But let a man EXAMINE HIMSELF, and so let him eat of the bread and drink of the cup. 29 For he who eats and drinks in an UNWORTHY MANNER eats and drinks JUDGMENT to himself, NOT DISCERNING THE LORD'S BODY. 30 FOR THIS REASON many [are] WEAK and SICK among you, and many SLEEP (HAVE DIED). _______________

Why did God ask for the shedding of the blood of so many bulls, lambs, and other animals if only the blood of Jesus Christ could cleanse us from sin? The truth here will unlock some other spiritual principles in your life.

You and I can forgive others without requiring them to shed their blood. So why do some Christians teach that God requires the shedding of blood in order to forgive us? One reason is because of Hebrews 9:22 which says that without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness of sins. But the text does not teach what most people think it teaches. This post gives 10 reasons why Hebrews 9:22 does not teach that the shedding of blood is required for the forgiveness of sins.
In this episode, Brent + Geoff look into the book of Hebrews to discuss the Cross of crucifixion as the method God used to shed Jesus' blood in order to provide remission for the sins of the world. Originally aired in February 2007 on the HopeFM Radio Network
Is the plan of redemption too violent? Is it really just a horrific tale of “cosmic child abuse”? Believe it or not, there are those who profess to be Christians who would say that it is. As always, let’s go back to the Bible and see what God has to say about the penal substitutionary atonement.
