The Henrico Police Division has identified the pedestrian who was struck and killed by a car on West Broad Street in Short Pump Sept. 18 as 63-year-old June Eades Heesen. The crash was reported at about 4:49 p.m. in the 11400 block of West Broad Street. Heesen was seriously injured when she was found and was taken to a local hospital, where she died from her injuries the following day. A 15-year-old Goochland girl reported missing from Short Pump in July has been found safe, according to Henrico Police. Alaina Hendricks went missing in the 11300 block of West Broad Street July 18 with another Goochland teen, 17-year-old Hailey Yost. Yost later was found safe Aug. 20. Police did not provide details about where or how either girl had been located. Police are asking for the public's help finding two teenagers who have been missing for more than two weeks in Short Pump. Henrico Police said 17-year-old Hailey Yost and 15-year-old Alaina Hendricks, both of Goochland, were last seen Thursday, July 18 around 3:45 p.m. in the 11300 block of West Broad Street. A 55-year-old Henrico man was killed Thursday night when the car he was driving was struck while trying to cross the westbound lanes of West Broad Street near Short Pump, according to Henrico Police. Fifth-grade students at one Henrico elementary school recently learned more about lighthouses and their keepers, thanks to an initiative created by a Navy veteran.
