We are thrilled to welcome Riding High Ministries to our church services this Super Bowl weekend. Together, we witnessed something remarkable as Todd took an untrained, unridden horse and guided it through trust and transformation. On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by PK from the Buffalo Sports Collective to discuss the Buffalo Bills, Buffalo Sabres and University at Buffalo football are riding high as we get close to the end of 2024. Most expected the Bills to be in the mix among the AFC top teams going into the season. However, few expected them to essentially have the AFC east locked away before Thanksgiving and be at least arguably one of the top two or three teams in NFL. The guys examine several factors that've allowed the Bills to start the season 9-2 and be very much in play for the top seed in the AFC. The Sabres started the season with just one win in their first six games but have since turned things around rather dramatically, including a three-game California road sweep this past week. PK has a lot of thoughts on the job Lindy Ruff's doing in his second run as Sabres head coach in addition to multiple offseason acquisitions keying the Sabres recent surge. UB football is in on the act as well this season, rebounding from 3-9 last year to 7-4 with an outside of chance of playing for the MAC championship and almost certainly headed towards a bowl game regardless. The guys talk about first-year head coach Pete Lembo being a central figure in UB's rise and Shaun Dolac becoming one of the best linebackers in the nation. That plus Thanksgiving's just a few days away and plenty more. You can follow PK on Twitter @PK_BSC and check out the Buffalo Sports Collective podcast. Major props to Talking Buffalo sponsor, Sonny Red's at 1841 Abbott Road in Lackawanna, just minutes from Highmark Stadium. We consider them THE most underrated spot for wings, pizza and other great food in Western New York plus it's a great place to drink and have a great time. ♦♦♦♦♦ Follow Patrick Moran/Talking Buffalo Podcast Substack: Patrick Moran's Substack Twitter: @PatrickMoranTB Blue Sky: @PatrickMoranTB.bsky.social Instagram: @PatrickMoranTB Facebook: Talking Buffalo Podcast Learn more about your ad choices. Welcome to Steelers Morning Rush, our new daily short-form podcast with Alan Saunders, giving a longer perspective on a single news topic surrounding the Pittsburgh Steelers or the National Football League. Today, it's the high vibes of Steelers Nation after a dramatic 28-27 road win over a rising Washington Commanders squad. The Steelers are now 7-2 as they begin AFC North play with a home date against the Balimore Ravens on Sunday, a game that will put the winner in the driver's seat for the divisional race. But it isn't just Sunday's date with the Ravens that stands in the way of Pittsburgh's 25th divisional title. The schedule that has been talked about ever since it was unveiled this spring is about to rear its ugly head. The Steelers have back-to-back games against seven-win teams followed by a road trip to Cleveland on a short week. Later, they'll face a three-game stretch of at Philadelphia, at Baltimore and Kansas City, with two short weeks of rest. Baltimore is the worst of those three teams currently. Fashioncast®Episode #48, May 21, 2024Rachel Erickson, Riding High in the World of Performance ApparelHold on fashionistas! On this episode we introduce you to manufacturing performance apparel consultant Rachel Erickson. As Founder and CEO of Unmarked Street, Rachel, and her team specialize in fashion consulting to the sports performance market, especially cycling. Enthusiastic about fashion at an early age, with some maternal nudging, Rachel has made fashion more than a career, it's her identity. But of course, there have been challenges along the way. “Burned out” from mind numbing work in corporate apparel manufacturing, after 17 years, Rachel launched Unmarked Street and began blazing a new path as a fashion apparel consultant. The company specializes in consulting for performance wear and cycling in particular, a rare niche market within the world of fashion. And the reason Unmarked Street has been so successful. Sometimes it pays NOT to play to the masses!Erickson is easy to listen to, she's energetic, humorous, articulate, and is knowledgeable about the fashion industry way beyond her niche. It's exciting to hear Rachel discuss a broad range of topics including branding, how to construct apparel for flawless fit, competition, difficult assignments, and sustainability. We especially enjoyed Rachel's discussion of Major League Baseball's ongoing uniform controversy with Nike and Fanatics. Only from a performance apparel consultant, could you receive the “inside-baseball” of such a debacle. After interviewing Erickson, we had a newfound appreciation for the technical side of the business. Understanding the use a performance of specific textiles is as critical to the business as marketing and distribution—nothing can be left to chance. And Erickson tells the story well. Constantly weaving in personal anecdotes, it's clear this is an entrepreneur who loves her work!Lastly, when Erickson was asked to take off her “consulting hat” and reflect on the fashion industry at large, she was particularly insightful about the unwanted side effects of fast fashion placed on her and many others within the industry. It's part of the discussion you won't want to miss!We loved interviewing the very lively Rachel Erickson! Please enjoy!www.unmarkedstreet.com@unmarkedstreet

The BYU Cougars are the fifth-seed at the Big 12 Men's Basketball Tournament this week and Jake Hatch says we should not discount the accomplishments Mark Pope and the BYU men's basketball program made this season considering the level(s) they stepped up in with Brigham Young University's entrance into the Big 12 Conference.Jake then celebrated BYU basketball star Jaxson Robinson's being named the Big 12 Sixth Man of the Year along with his being named to the All-Big 12 Honorable Mention team alongside Dallin Hall, Spencer Johnson and Foussenyi Traore but also questioning why Robinson was on an All-Big 12 Team and Aly Khalifa being snubbed of honors all together. Finally, the show wrapped up with Jake's notes from BYU football's fifth spring practice Friday as true freshmen like Ephraim Asiata and Ryner Swanson make names for themselves and the offensive and defensive lines show equal parts brilliance and that work still needs to be done along with weekend recaps for BYU baseball, softball and men's volleyball. Buckle up for a roller coaster ride with big Billy, the 'man on the road,' whose larger-than-life stories have become the stuff of legend. Our latest podcast episode is peppered with hot takes on Hunter Biden's infamous leaked photos and the seismic shockwaves of political corruption that might just rock the capitol to its core. Rumors of high-level cover-ups and clandestine dealings take center stage, giving us plenty to chew on as we swig our tall boys and share a guffaw or two over the absurdity of it all. When the sun sets and the laughter wanes, our conversation veers into the shadowy realm of dark rituals and child trafficking—a chilling juxtaposition to our earlier jests. Here, we don't just tackle the tough stuff; we confront it head-on, sharing a collective concern for the world our kids are inheriting. But fear not, the mood lifts as we bash the media's iron grip on information and champion the sanctity of personal expression, all while contemplating the mysterious disappearance of a beloved machete, and welcoming back a certain blood-spatter analyst to our screens. As the night winds down, we get real with reflections on freedom of speech and the relentless grind toward authenticity. We're not just here to entertain, but to foster a community that values critical thought and a good, hearty debate. We cap it all off with a dive into the political deep end, examining the Pelosi stimulus hold-up saga, and wrap with an impromptu game of Family Feud that's more chaos than competition. So, pull up a chair, fill your glass, and join us on this wild journey through the highs and lows of current events, personal freedoms, and the unceasing quest for the truth. https://www.thetakeitdeepshow.com
