Het moet interessant zijn voor een zo breed mogelijk wetenschappelijk publiek. En het moet voldoen aan de strenge toetsing door collega's met verstand van zaken. Het moet dus niet alleen kwalitatief goed zijn maar ook aantrekkelijk opgeschreven. Wat levert het voor nieuwe inzichten op, die wetenschappelijk maar eventueel ook maatschappelijk van belang zijn?
