It was double trouble for the Supercars Championship Series, with Will Brown his first Supercars title while spearheading a Red Bull Ampol Racing one-two that left the squad dominating the Teams' Championship. And because it was the Adelaide 500, there was heaps happening. Turn 8 was tearing up cars again, and we think there is a simple fix or two to keep it challenging but to reduce the danger that left two drivers not well enough to race. Zach Bates locked down the Dunlop Super2 Series in a 'future' star studded field when some of the main game teams start looking properly. Todd Hazelwood did the same in Trans Am… and Adam Marjoram won the Super Utes. Harri Jones won the Carrera Cup, but he'd already done that before Adelaide. Then there was George Martin - aka Jorge Martin - getting the job done in MotoGP. But there was no PG this week, so we roped in Melinda Price, and we may keep her. Tell us what you think! In the lead up to the 2024 Vailo Adelaide 500 I was extremely lucky to have the pleasure of chatting again with this year's Bathurst 1000 co-winning driver Todd Hazelwood. We covered everything from that iconic win with good mate Brodie Kostecki to why the Adelaide Street Circuit holds a special place in Todd's heart. Todd also tells Bevo why he's not the same daredevil away from the race track, how he met the love of his life and fellow motorsport fanatic Alice and who wins the races between the two at her parent's go kart track plus much more. Thanks so much to Todd for his time and to the team at PodBooth for putting this great video together. A big thanks also to the Southern Slugs Football Club for their amazing support over the past couple of years. Check out their Facebook page for exciting upcoming overseas tours including a very special Anzac Day trip to Gallipoli in 2025 for over 35 men's and women's.

Brodie Kostecki and Todd Hazelwood dominated the 2024 Bathurst 1000 in the #1 Chiko Camaro. Kostecki was back to his brilliant best, and Hazelwood was the best of the co-drivers. Red Bull Ampol Racing filled the minor spots on the podium in the fastest ever Bathurst 1000, with only one Safety Car at a convenient, for some, 29 laps from home - or one full tank of fuel. Plenty of other stuff went down too. We have a little bit of other news in #NASCAR and #Sprintcars and the change to our shareholders list, with Betty Klimenko coming on board as an equal partner to Bruce and Andrew. 0.35 Listen to the Evolve Upper Limits Mastermind with professional racing car driver, Todd Hazelwood, who explores the natural synergy between high-performance motor racing and a high-achieving business mindset. 1.10 Todd shares his back story and childhood passion for motor racing from a tender age; the sacrifices made between each step, the progression via scholarship, the fundraising and relentless drive to raise funds to race throughout the majority of his youth. 8.10 How do you find that extra gear to do the things you love? 9.20 Races are not won on the racetrack – they're won in the workshop. Preparation is KING when determining how you can be better than your opponent. 13.10 How does one go from hobby to obsessive life goal? Todd speaks with Nick about how to build momentum from that lightbulb moment. Avoid negative talk. Make your obsession your life; let nothing get in the way of your winning spirit. Have a goal and do not sway from achieving it. Value the support of your people, your family are a priority. 16.10 Inspire your team with your own unwavering passion for success. Motivate and support each other; no one has the finger pointed at them. You only get a sore neck by looking backward. 20.50 Your staff can see your commitment and are reassured; in motorsport, no one is higher on the chain. Spinning spanners on a race car involves sacrifice when you're essentially part of the `moving circus' on the race circuit. 24.00 Setbacks; how does Todd use mental toughness to overcome adversity and create trust in his preparation? 27.56 Bathurst; Mental prep and mindset before and during one of the world's most famous racing events. Hydration and physical prep begins 2 weeks before race day – it's the most expensive weight loss regime on the planet. You can't expect to drive the wheels off your car if you're not mentally and physically prepared for the unexpected. 32.22 The business of motorsport is about winning – but it's not everything. Winning on track is not the same as winning off track – where you are heavily reliant on your people – you have to look after your people who are so committed to you and your dream. Without the support – the fans – you don't have a sport. How can you make everyone feel valued and valuable in your professional world? 36.35 Having someone who can support you in both good times and bad is priceless. Surround yourself with successful people. 38.15 Nick shares his views on holistic and physical health. Todd shares his physical health commitments within the motor racing business and leading into race meets. Be your own self-critic. Are you fit enough, are you strong enough, are you smart enough? Raise the bar – and imagine what that success looks like. 42.30 Todd believes success is 80 percent mental toughness and 20 percent physical/skill based. 47.00 Appreciation for those who help you achieve success – show it, value it, value them. 52.30 The three elements to success according to Todd; Communication is super key… followed by passion and anchored by hard work. Make your passion greater than your ability. 56.33 Inspired? Hit up upcoach.com.au for more!
