Special Stage: Highs and lows of Queensland, and WRC Rally Poland

Play Episode Listen Later Jul 3, 2024 45:40

There were crashes galore and mind-numbing speeds – what a weekend we had in rallying! In the Queensland sunshine, Scott Pedder took his first Australian Rally Championship victory in 10 years, while his co-driver, Glenn Macneall, broke a startling drought of his own. On this week's Special Stage Rally Podcast, we discuss what was a horror weekend for Toyota Gazoo Racing Australia, with all three of their GR Yaris' going off the road with varying degrees of seriousness. The pace of this year's ARC has risen remarkably and we dissect what this means for the remainder of the series, which still has three rounds to run! Over in Europe, Rally Poland saw a thrilling battle for victory between the Toyotas of Kalle Rovanpera and Elfyn Evans, and the Hyundai of Andreas Mikkelsen. There was also the stunning Rally1 debut of Latvian young gun, Martins Sesks. The action continues this week as we preview the fast and yumpy Rally Estonia, the fourth round of the European Rally Championship.  While you may be suffering from the winter blues, we've got all the rally action covered on another bumper episode of the Special Stage Rally Podcast.  Special Stage is produced for the Motorsport Podcast Network by RallySport Magazine >> https://rallysportmag.com/ Learn more about your ad choices.
