However the organisations which invest heavily into the sales leadership development can experience quantum leaps in terms of engagement and performance, compared to their competitors. In this episode, it is a privilege to be joined by Tony Cross, the Chief Executive Officer at Growth Matters International, as Tony unpacks strategies to drive sustainable results, to make others successful, and to continue his mission of helping millions of people in the profession of sales by enabling a million Sales Managers. Send us a textIn this episode, we sit down with Tony Cross, a passionate educator, and Principal at the Byron Bay Community School. Tony's journey to teaching began far from the beaches of Byron—he grew up in the rural town of Goondiwindi, Queensland, where childhood freedom shaped his values and perspective on life. After studying at UNE University in Armidale and then moving to Sydney for work, Tony made a life-changing decision in 2017 to call Bangalow home. Tony opens up about the moment he realised he wanted to be a teacher, sharing insights into why the profession is so rewarding. Today's guest is an individual who always brings a smile to your face when he enters a room, with his positive force, uplifting spirit and sincere love for people! Rev. Tony Cross & I will talk about an organization that almost everyone is familiar with, but probably few know all the good work that it does, not only in our community but also in so many others. Goodwill of Middle Georgia and the CSRA , for most people, brings to mind the organization that you can donate items to and probably the stores where you can get great prices on nice stuff. But it is so much more! We'll talk about the organization's beginnings, its amazing growth and how Goodwill has made a difference in so many lives. With a mission of offering everyone an opportunity to fully develop their potential, Goodwill supports education and workforce development programs in our communities. We'll discuss growth plans for the Lake Area that will mirror those already established in Augusta & Macon, which includes providing education & training with a local Helms College Campus in the areas of hospitality, culinary arts and health care, three areas where we desperately need good, well-trained employees. We'll talk about Rev. Cross' role as the Spiritual Leader of our Goodwill organization and the important role he plays in the "whole person approach" to overall development and education. We'll talk about some real life success stories that Goodwill has been instrumental in, changing lives by giving people a chance, or in some cases, a second chance! You'll get a preview of what is coming to our area and how you can be a part of it! Guest - Goodwill Industries - Rev. The Sales Management. Simplified. Podcast with Mike Weinberg
This may be Mike's all-time favorite sales management conversation as he hosts his favorite international sales management experts, Tony Cross and Alan Versteeg. If you believe in the fundamentals and appreciate the blunt truth about sales, this episode is for you! Tony and Alan's specialty is sales management execution, and triggered by Mike's questions, they hold nothing back and provide more tweetable one-liners than you'll be able to capture. Buckle up as these three make the strong case that executing the fundamentals well (particularly accountability and coaching) drives exponentially more sales results than anything else, and specifically more than simply “enabling” sellers. Take a listen as Mike and his guests address… How it feels like the lunatics are running the asylum as sales leaders have been blinded by shiny, new, fancy toys and ignoring the fundamentals Why sales managers were often more effective decades ago when they were “in-field” and laser-focused on coaching sellers That after all the hype and major investment in enablement, there has not been a proportional increase in sales effectiveness; in fact, the opposite has occurred The problem with “execution” often lies with senior executives who have lost sight of the sales leader's primary job and highest-value activities Mike and his guests also preview a special one-day event they are co-hosting in London on September 14. Sales leaders in UK, be sure to check out Sales Execution Simplified. All of Mike's previous trips to Europe have been private events hosted by his clients. This is the first time he is doing a session with public availability for sales leaders! More info here: https://event.growthmattersintl.com/ses22/

All hail the Roly-Poly Regent of Raspberries, the Moon-Faced Monarch of Mirth, the Spherical Sovereign of Song! (Alright, that's enough – Ed.) This week Tyler is joined by Tony Cross to talk about Harry Secombe, focusing on his two volumes of memoir Arias & Raspberries and Strawberries & Cheam. The emphasis is on the pre-Goons days, particularly his wartime service and post-war pursuit of fame as a fledgling comedian and variety turn. It's a warm appreciation of the man who would go on to become Ned of Wales and one of Britain's best-loved entertainers. Features stories such as Jimmy Edwards and a case of mistaken identity, a troublesome kidney stone, that fateful first meeting with Spike, Harry as a young shaver belting out hymns from the outdoor thunderbox and his time touring Italy to entertain the troops. Some honourable mentions along the way for Bill Hall, Peter Sellers, Muir & Norden, Vivian Van Damm, Bruce Forsyth and Tony Hancock. And we ask: Why hasn't there been a definitive Secombe biography?
