Fear is a normal part of growth—especially when you're running a podiatry clinic. When you're working long days, carrying the pressure of patients and payroll, and still not seeing the income or freedom you expected, change can feel risky. But staying the same has a cost too: more hours, more stress, and the same results. In this episode, we'll unpack why fear shows up, why it doesn't mean “stop,” and the plan that helps you move forward anyway.
You're caught between two terrors: gaining weight and staying exactly where you are forever. You've spent years in a disordered mind with disordered thoughts creating disordered behaviors. You'll do anything to break free, but you're trying to HAVE recovery while still BEING the trapped version of yourself. Today we're flipping the script with the Be-Do-Have formula that makes recovery inevitable. In this transformational episode, you'll discover: Why most people have recovery backwards (and why it keeps them stuck) The science-backed Be-Do-Have formula that doubles success rates How to BE recovered before you feel recovered The identity shift that changes everything automatically Why staying where you are is actually scarier than changing How to stop starving for your old life and start living as your new self For the woman ready to stop settling for survival and start choosing to thrive. THE BACKWARDS APPROACH THAT KEEPS YOU STUCK Most people think: "When I HAVE food freedom, then I'll DO recovery behaviors, then I'll BE recovered." Research from Stephen Covey and modern neuroscience proves this backwards. The truth: You must BE the person you want to become, DO what she does, then you'll HAVE what you want. Dr. James Clear's identity research shows: People who say "I am someone who nourishes my body" have 40% higher success rates than those who say "I want to eat better." THE BE-DO-HAVE FORMULA IN RECOVERY BE: The woman who trusts her body completely DO: Eat without negotiation, rest without guilt, take up space HAVE: Food freedom, body peace, mental clarity BE: The woman who values nourishment over control DO: Choose pasta at dinner, have birthday cake, skip gym when tired HAVE: Energy, joy, presence in your own life The scary part: You start BEING her before you feel ready, before you see results, before it feels natural. THE SCIENCE BEHIND THE FORMULA
You keep thinking about making the change. Setting the boundary. Starting the thing. Having the hard conversation. But somehow, you keep ending up back in the same place. Not because you don't care. Because some part of your current life still feels safer than the unknown. This episode is an invitation to stop overthinking and start getting honest about what your comfort zone is protecting you from.Journal prompts:What is the one thing you keep circling back to but haven't fully committed to yet? What is it that you want to feel, create, or do?If you fully committed to that decision or vision, what are you afraid of? What do you think you'd be risking? If you just stayed where you are, claiming it might get easier or a sign will come, what feels safe and comfy cozy about right now?The journaling prompts in this session will help you uncover what you've been avoiding, what you're afraid could happen if you actually moved forward, and what staying where you are has been giving you emotionally.Because sometimes the hardest part isn't making the change. It's admitting that a part of you still feels safe staying the same.Resources Mentioned:The Should Session: To Stop you from bringing work stress home! In this episode, I'm closing out The Next Step series by talking about what I believe is the biggest bottleneck for so many aspiring bookkeepers and business owners: belief. We've already talked about skills, systems, and scaling throughout this week, but today we're getting honest about the fears, perfectionism, and self-doubt that keep people stuck even when the opportunity is right in front of them. I share how fear of failure, thought spirals, and caring too much about what other people think can quietly keep you playing small. We also talk about the hidden cost of inaction, why permanent preparation is still doing nothing, and how your beliefs shape your thoughts, actions, and results. I walk you through the four self-reflection questions I believe can completely shift the way you think about your future and what's actually possible for you. If you've been feeling stuck between wanting more and being afraid to take the next step, this episode is for you. Listen to the full episode and decide what your next step will be. I'm delighted to welcome back Lisa Dennis, an expert in buyer-focused value proposition strategy and key account management. We're discussing what differentiates key accounts from regular ones and exploring why so many organizations struggle to clearly define them. Lisa shares her insights on aligning with customer priorities, avoiding common pitfalls when transitioning from selling to managing strategic accounts, and developing account plans that stay relevant amidst dynamic business shifts. You'll also hear practical methodologies for effective stakeholder engagement, the importance of speaking the buyer's language, and actionable dos and don'ts for successful key account management. Outline of This Episode [00:00] Key account managers matter more [01:14] The importance of aligning with customer priorities [02:43] Mapping strategic priorities, pressures, and buyer language [04:46] Difference between mapping org charts and mapping influence [07:50] Making account plans about customer context [10:35] Lisa's top do's and don'ts in key account management [13:16] Reframing messaging for better client engagement Key Accounts Beyond the Dollar Value Most organizations struggle to clearly define what differentiates a key account from a regular account. A key account is best characterized by strategic alignment plus mutual value creation, according to Lisa. Instead of focusing solely on the revenue potential, the emphasis should be on relevance to the customer's priorities—on managing the alignment between the customer's needs and your company's unique value. This means adopting a mindset where the salesperson becomes a partner, helping the client realize outcomes that matter most to them. It's not about pushing solutions, but about understanding how those solutions fit into the client's broader strategic aspirations. Staying Stuck in Sales Mode Transitioning from selling to managing a key account can be challenging. One of the most common mistakes is remaining in a sales mentality—selling products and solutions instead of managing outcomes. Many continue to focus on a single stakeholder rather than the entire buying team, leading to missed opportunities for deeper engagement and sustainable growth. A static account plan that doesn't drive meaningful conversations also impedes progress. The solution is a shift from "sales mode" to "value alignment mode," a deliberate approach that centers around the customer's defined value and changing needs. Speak the Buyer's Language Developing an effective key account strategy begins with understanding the customer's business—how they make money, their strategic priorities, and the risks they face. Mapping these priorities to the buyer's language enables personalized conversations that speak directly to what matters most to each stakeholder. Instead of selling into "white space," the focus is on mapping capabilities to desired business outcomes and activating engagement through account-based marketing. Stakeholder Mapping: From Org Charts to Influence Networks Traditional stakeholder mapping often starts and ends with an org chart. But true influence is what counts. Understanding who can sway decisions, who holds economic or technical buying power, and who sits in the executive suite is essential. Gaining access to senior decision makers requires leading with insight, speaking in business terms, and tying conversations directly to their strategic initiatives. In this episode, Danielle unpacks something that comes up constantly in her work with clients: the tendency to invalidate our own pain by comparing it to someone else's. To stay in situations that are harmful - not because we can't leave, but because leaving feels harder than staying. To choose the familiar difficulty, the 'comfortable discomfort', over the unfamiliar one, without ever consciously naming it as a choice.Because here is the truth: everything is hard. Staying is hard. Leaving is hard. Fighting for your children is hard. Giving up is hard. The question is never whether something is hard. The question is which hard you are choosing - and whether that choice is actually serving your children. In this episode Danielle covers:Why "someone always has it worse" is both true and completely irrelevant to your situationThe conflict avoidance trap - why staying stuck can feel safer than moving forward, and what that safety is actually costing youThe "choose your biggest problem" framework - and why naming your choices changes everythingThe difference between feeling your feelings and living inside them indefinitelyThis episode also contains a moment of personal honesty from Danielle about her own experience of suicidal ideation during the hardest period of her post-separation journey - and why she is sharing it.If you have been feeling like your situation isn't bad enough to justify the way you feel, or if you have been waiting for things to get bad enough before you act, this episode is for you.As always, this episode is not legal advice and not therapy. If you are experiencing thoughts of suicide or self-harm, please seek support. • Lifeline: 13 11 14 • 1800RESPECT: 1800 737 732.Explore the supports offered by Danielle Black CoachingThe Post-Separation Parenting Blueprint™

Returning to the April emphasis of Divine Reset, this session delivers a timely and encouraging word: starting over is not failure—it is mercy.Drawing from Isaiah 43:18–19, Lamentations 3:22–23, and Philippians 3:13–14, Overseer Azizah Morrison teaches that God is the giver of new beginnings, and that forward movement often requires releasing what did not work, letting go of regret, and embracing the grace to begin again. This lesson confronts the subtle ways believers remain stuck—rehearsing the past, holding onto disappointment, and hesitating in moments that require renewed faith. It calls listeners into a decisive response: to release what is behind and reach forward into what God is now doing. The accompanying prayer invites believers to receive fresh strength, renewed clarity, and the courage to move forward—marking this moment as a true reset, not just in thought, but in action.

My client had done everything … yet hadn't actually done anything.Sound familiar? There are sneaky ways we keep ourselves busy that feel productive, but in reality, they keep us stuck in the exact same place. In this episode, I break down the four biggest ways we fool ourselves when trying to lose weight. We'll uncover . . . Why these patterns can be so commonWhat's really driving themAnd how they quietly reinforce a self-defeating beliefMost importantly, I'll help you identify whether you're doing this — and what to do instead. If you've ever felt stuck in the start-over-on-Monday cycle, this episode is for you. Here's the link I mentioned in this episode . . .
In this episode, leading UK psychologist Wendy Dignan talks about staying stuck. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
"Maybe I'll just give it more time. I'm not ready. I'll see how I feel in a few months." It sounds responsible. It sounds patient. It even sounds spiritual. But what if "wait and see" isn't neutral? What if staying stuck is costing you more than you realize? In today's episode, we are having an honest conversation about the real price of staying stuck after child loss. Time alone does not rebuild what grief has fractured, and today, we explore how to recognize when the Holy Spirit is telling you that you've stayed at this mountain long enough. I'm talking about the mountain of pain that you bear every day. I want to help you move to a place where remembering with more love than pain is possible. You'll be invited to look honestly at whether waiting is protecting your heart… or keeping you from what the Holy Spirit has for you. In This Episode, We Discuss: The Illusion of Safety: Why we mistake "standing still" for "staying safe" and how it leads to isolation. The Four Questions of Discernment: A gentle self-check to see if waiting is shrinking your world or keeping you behind a heavy mask. Deuteronomy 1:6: Understanding God's perspective on when it is time to break camp and move forward from the mountain of pain. Fear vs. The Holy Spirit: How to distinguish between the scream of fear and the gentle whisper of God's "more" for your life. The Power of the Group: Why 14 moms have already decided to stop waiting and start walking together on March 5th. If you've been circling the same emotional ground and wondering whether anything will actually change, this conversation will help you name what's really happening — and challenge you to consider your next brave step. Press play, and let's talk about what waiting may be costing you… and what God might be inviting you into instead. ✨ YOUR INVITATION: THE GRIEF ROADMAP ✨ "I've stayed at this mountain long enough." If those words are echoing in your heart today, I want you to know that you don't have to navigate the path forward alone. The Grief Roadmap isn't just a course—it is a 12-week, intimate small group mentoring experience designed specifically for the mom who is tired of just holding it together...and ready to finally untangle the hidden layers of her loss. This is your safe space to exhale. It is a community of moms who truly get it—who understand the silence, the questions, and the weight of the "what-ifs." Together, we walk through a structured, faith-based journey to move from being paralyzed by pain to being held by hope. What's Waiting For You Inside: 12 Weeks of Mentoring: Direct guidance from me, your Grief Mentor, as we walk this path step-by-step. A Community That Understands: Stop explaining your pain and start being understood by women who speak your language. A Proven Path: We don't just talk about grief; we process it using the tools you need to breathe again.
The Myth of Time Healing: Contrary to popular belief, time alone does not heal betrayal wounds. Assessment responses reveal people still struggling 15, 35, even 40+ years after their betrayal, with statements like "feels like it happened yesterday" and "I'll never trust again." The Critical Difference: Betrayal recovery requires deliberate, intentional healing—you can't count on time or a new relationship to fix it. The Problem with Traditional Approaches Wrong Tools at the Wrong Stage: Even excellent therapeutic tools can backfire when applied at the inappropriate stage of recovery: Stage 2 (Shock & Trauma): Clients need nervous system regulation, not gratitude exercises or trust-building Stage 4 (Rebuilding): Clients may not need the same interventions that worked in earlier stages Why Coaches Struggle: Practitioners often dread seeing betrayal clients because their proven methods aren't working—but it's not the tools, it's the timing. Someone who's been betrayed isn't starting at the same place as other clients. The Waitlist Initiative A new waitlist has been created to connect people struggling with betrayal to properly certified coaches and practitioners. The response has been overwhelming, with heartbreaking stories of: PTSD symptoms 30 years post-betrayal Closed-off relationships due to family betrayals from decades ago Lives that "haven't been the same since" Understanding the Stages Stage 2: Shock and trauma—nervous system completely dysregulated Stage 3: Survival mode—functional but flat, no joy. This is where most people get stuck because: It feels better than the chaos of Stage 2 It's the "familiar known" Fear of the shakeup change would create Intentionally ignoring intuition due to lack of bandwidth The Stage 2-3 Loop: Many people bounce between shock/trauma and survival, like being thrown down a ravine, climbing up, then being thrown down again. Stage 4 & 5: Hopeful, growth-oriented, forward-moving—but most people don't even know these stages exist. Why People Stay Stuck Lack of awareness: They don't know Stage 4 and 5 exist Familiar vs. good: We choose the familiar known over the unfamiliar unknown, even when it's not serving us Fear of disruption: New boundaries and standing up for yourself creates a shakeup Bandwidth concerns: Mental, emotional, physical, or financial limitations Comparison trap: Stage 3 seems "good enough" compared to Stage 2 The Cost of Staying Stuck Post Betrayal Syndrome symptoms persist when you ignore your intuition and stay in Stage 3: Physical illnesses and conditions Mental and emotional symptoms Your body communicates through its weakest link Over 100,000 people tested show consistent symptom patterns The Reframe The Weight Loss Analogy: Two friends, both 30 pounds overweight and "fine." One loses the weight and transforms—feels amazing, confident, energized. The other declines help, saying "I'm okay." The Truth: If you knew for even a minute what Stage 5 felt like, you wouldn't waste another minute in Stage 3. The Path Forward Healing requires moving through all five stages with the right support and tools applied at the right time. The goal of the PBT Institute certification program is to get the Five Stages framework into as many qualified hands as possible—because it's not about one person, it's about every certified practitioner reaching everyone in their sphere. Most Common Betrayal Types From the waitlist responses: Family betrayal Partner betrayal Note: Early, unhealed betrayals (often in childhood or early relationships) frequently underlie later betrayal experiences—it's often not where you think it started. Bottom Line: Just because something is familiar doesn't mean it's good. There's something so much better waiting in Stages 4 and 5—but you have to move through the process deliberately and intentionally to get there. Sometimes self-awareness helps us grow… and sometimes it quietly gives us permission to stay exactly where we are.In this episode, we talk about the subtle ways insight can turn into self-justification—whether it's personality types, triggers, habits, or even love languages—and how awareness is meant to become a starting point for transformation, not a comfortable resting place. We share stories from our own marriage about conflict avoidance, travel differences, stress habits, and learning how to let understanding lead to maturity rather than excuses. If you've ever heard the phrase, “That's just how I am,” this conversation will help reframe awareness as an invitation to grow—one small, intentional step at a time. 881. We're all under pressure to move faster, ship earlier, and do more. But as Rachel Cooke explains this week, "speed" often looks a lot more like chaos when the foundation isn't there. If your team is missing deadlines or burning out, the issue probably isn't a lack of effort—it's a lack of the "unsexy" structure that makes agility possible.Rachel looks at how to spot the difference between true agility and "panic with better marketing." She shares how to talk to leaders about conflicting priorities, how to stop casual executive brainstorming from turning into accidental team directives, and why establishing operating rhythms is the only way to kill the constant "fire drill" culture. This episode reminds us that staying stuck has a cost, emotionally, spiritually, and mentally. But moving forward requires trust, surrender, and courage. Lulu and LA share their personal healing experiences and journey with you to share how freedom begins when we stop clutching what God already healed us from. We delve deep into healing, mindset, faith, and releasing the crutches we've held onto for years. IT'S TIME TO HEAL![Background Music: All Rights Reserved by DJ D'Vine. COPYRIGHTED. I've been noticing this pattern with the therapists I work with. Incredibly capable people with clear ideas for what they want to build - programs, offerings, shifts in their practice. They can describe it in detail. But when I ask what's stopping them, the answer is always some version of "I'm stuck."In this episode, I'm not giving you productivity tips or telling you to just start. I'm naming the quiet problem that nobody talks about: the kind of stuck that doesn't look like stuck at all. Because this type of stuck comes with a cost that accumulates slowly, and most of us don't see it until we're years in.If you've been sitting with an idea for months (or years), if you keep researching instead of building, if you're waiting for more certainty before you commit - this episode is for you.HERE ARE THE 3 KEY TAKEAWAYS FROM THIS EPISODE:1️⃣ Staying Stuck Is Not Neutral - It Has a Real Cost – We believe taking action equals risk and staying stuck equals safety. But staying stuck erodes self-trust, creates ongoing frustration, causes decision fatigue, and leaves you feeling behind without knowing why. You're still on a trajectory - you're just not choosing it consciously.2️⃣ Research Mode Is False Movement – When your version of stuck looks like productivity (taking courses, reading case studies, studying how others did it), it's especially dangerous. It feels like you're making progress. You're not. At a certain point, researching stops being preparation and starts being avoidance. You already have enough information to start.3️⃣ You're Already Choosing Your Hard – Moving forward is hard. Staying stuck is also hard. Nothing worth doing is usually easy. The question isn't how to make it easier - it's which version of hard you want to choose. The uncertain pain of starting, or the familiar pain of staying where you are?YOU'LL ALSO HEAR:The specific Tuesday afternoon I spent three hours researching my program instead of building it (and the resignation that followed)Why high-integrity professionals get stuck in this particular patternThe difference between familiar pain and uncertain pain (and why we keep choosing familiar)How to identify which type of stuck you're experiencing (they're not all the same problem)Why compassion doesn't mean pretending there's no problemThe real cost of decision fatigue when you circle the same choice for monthsHow "not choosing" is still a choice with consequencesWhy clarity rarely arrives before commitmentRESOURCES MENTIONED IN THIS EPISODE:Therapists Rising:The Incubator: therapistsrising.com/incubatorInstagram: @dr.hayleykellySUBSCRIBE & REVIEW:If this episode helped you see the pattern you've been stuck in - or gave you permission to name what's really happening - please take a moment to subscribe and leave a review on Apple Podcasts!Your reviews help more therapists find these conversations and build the businesses they actually want without staying stuck in research mode for months. Thanks for being here. See you next week.

Many high-achieving people look successful on the outside while part of them remains frozen in childhood survival patterns. Through the Biology of Trauma® lens, I share how trauma disrupts the natural flow and movement of life—and the healing roadmap that takes us from stuck to truly alive. If we've ever wondered why we can reach every external goal and still feel disconnected from our own life, this episode explains why. I share Elena's story, a 45-year-old Chief Operating Officer whose autoimmune diagnosis revealed what her body had been holding for decades. When her thirteen-year-old daughter had thoughts of suicide—and felt she couldn't talk to her mom—Elena finally understood: a part of her had been frozen since before she could walk. We'll explore how nervous system dysregulation shows up as professional success masking emotional unavailability. We'll see how trauma stops our natural movement through life—and discover the six-step roadmap from survival to authenticity, belonging, and flow. In this episode you'll learn: [00:00] Why successful people can still be frozen in survival patterns from childhood [02:15] How Elena's birth trauma created a freeze response before she could walk [06:40] The moment her daughter's crisis revealed decades of emotional unavailability [09:10] Trauma defined: the biggest disruptor of movement in our life [12:45] Why everything inside us is movement—and what happens when trauma stops it [16:05] The healing destination: authenticity, belonging, and flow as what it means to be alive [19:50] Why state shifts matter more than neuroplasticity on your healing journey [24:05] How neuroplasticity wires in whatever state you're in—including overwhelm [26:30] The six-step roadmap: from "I am alive" to connection with others [28:15] How Elena broke the generational cycle with her daughters Main Takeaways: Trauma Is the Biggest Disruptor of Movement: Trauma isn't just an event—it's the shock that stops us. It disrupts movement at every level: physical, emotional, relational, and through our life stages. Successful and Frozen Can Coexist: High achievement doesn't mean our nervous system is regulated. Elena built an impressive career while part of her remained that terrified little girl, hiding and staying still to survive. State Shifts Come Before Neuroplasticity: Whatever state we're in is what neuroplasticity wires in. If we're frequently in stress and overwhelm, our brain builds pathways that make that pattern automatic. We must shift our state first. The Destination Is Authenticity, Belonging, and Flow: These three elements define what it means to be truly alive—free to be ourselves, grounded in connection, and moving with ease through life. You Can't Skip the Sequence: The roadmap follows a specific order: recognizing we're alive, choosing to live, shifting our state, being here, wanting to be here, deserving to be here, and finally connecting with others. Each step prepares us for the next. Healing Breaks Generational Patterns: When Elena addressed her frozen patterns, her daughters noticed changes they never expected. The "resting bitch face" disappeared. Presence replaced absence. Notable Quotes: "Trauma becomes the biggest disruptor of movement in our life." "I can still see myself as a little girl, hiding with my dolls, quiet, still and absolutely terrified." "Whatever state we are in is what neuroplasticity wires in." "Being in calm alive can actually become a habit. Imagine that." "Your body's decision to freeze wasn't a failure—it was survival. But you don't have to stay frozen." "My 12-year-old girl didn't realize that I had grown up and that I am alive—which means that she did it. She made it. We're alive." Episode Takeaway: Frozen doesn't mean broken. Elena's story reveals what happens when trauma stops our natural movement through life—not just physical movement, but emotional presence, relational connection, and our ability to truly arrive in the life we've built. Her freeze response began at birth, reinforced through childhood, and showed up decades later as professional success masking emotional unavailability. Her daughters felt it. Her body felt it. Her autoimmune diagnosis confirmed it. The healing roadmap offers a way forward. First, we help that frozen part recognize we're alive—that survival happened. Then we consciously choose to live, rather than simply existing because we had no choice. We learn to shift our state into calm and aliveness, practicing until it becomes our new default. And finally, we move through the deeper work: being here, wanting to be here, deserving to be here, and opening to genuine connection with others. Neuroplasticity works for or against us depending on our state. If overwhelm has become our habit, our brain has built pathways that take us there automatically. But when we build the habit of calm aliveness first, neuroplasticity starts working in our favor. The destination isn't perfection—it's authenticity, belonging, and flow. Movement is possible. Coming home to ourselves is possible. Resources/Guides: The Biology of Trauma book - Available now everywhere books are sold. Have you ever wondered what your hesitation is really costing you? In this episode of She Got Activated, I'm pulling back the curtain on something most Christian women never stop to consider: There is a price you pay every time you shrink back from the thing God keeps nudging you toward. And it's not the cost you think. I'm breaking down: ✨ The hidden identity-drain that happens when you delay ✨ Why your nervous system starts labeling your calling as "danger" ✨ The emotional and spiritual toll of staying in the same cycle ✨ How your future self is impacted by the decisions you don't make ✨ What it actually means to trust God with your next step This isn't a shame episode — it's a wake-up-and-rise-up episode. A holy invitation to stop circling the same mountain and finally move toward the woman God designed you to be. If you're feeling the pull toward more — more peace, more purpose, more confidence, more impact — this episode is going to hit in the best way.

Selective obedience is the dangerous pattern of following God's commands partially while justifying compromises in areas that seem inconvenient. King Saul's story in 1 Samuel 15 demonstrates how partial obedience is actually disobedience in disguise. When God commanded Saul to completely destroy the Amalekites, Saul obeyed mostly but spared the king and best livestock, leading to his rejection as king. God desires full obedience because it demonstrates our love for Him and prevents the consequences that come from compromise. Every act of disobedience begins with a whisper of justification, but God's commands are not burdensome - they are freeing when followed completely.

One of the ideas that really makes my clients bristle is the possibility that their self-sabotaging behaviors are guided by their system's well-meaning intention to keep them safe. They question, "How is it possible that my subconscious mind thinks it is trying to keep me safe when all it is doing is making my life harder?" That is a great question because it feels counterintuitive that our desire to be safe is actually holding back our progress. This week in the podcast, we explore why the subconscious mind gets in the way in trying to keep us safe AND the first step to overcoming this common issue. I believe that this is one of the most important concepts in all of tapping and if you aren't doing it, you are slowing your progress and also limiting your tapping results. Support the podcast! It's not failure, it's feedback.” “Being stuck is not a character flaw, it's a signpost. It tells you it's time to pause, reassess and adjust. The worst thing you can do is retreat into silence.” “Sketch, one idea, call one curator - progress returned.” “Isolation magnifies stuckness, community dissolves it.” “You don't have to untangle the whole knot at once. Just start pulling on one thread. Movement generates momentum. Momentum generates confidence.” PODCAST HOST BIO With over 30 years in the art world, Ceri has worked closely with leading artists and arts professionals, managed public and private galleries and charities, and curated more than 250 exhibitions and events.
