Those are some of the ponderings included in a recent story on next year's trends in T: The New York Times Style Magazine. We put the co-hosts of ‘Fanti,' Tre'vell Anderson and Jarrett Hill, to the test. They are also the co-authors of ‘Historically Black Phrases.' Tre'vell's recent book is titled ‘We See Each Other.' Then, Omkari Williams tells us about her new book ‘Micro Activism: How You Can Make a Difference in the World Without a Bullhorn.' WE SEE EACH OTHER is a personal history of trans visibility since the beginning of moving images by Tre'vell Anderson. A literary reckoning, it unearths a transcestry that's long existed in plain sight and in the shadows of history, and further contextualizes this present moment of increased representation. Though there have been trans memoirs and histories, there has never been a book quite like this, nor a conversation like this on Perspectives. Tre'vell says, "I don't remember exactly when I was taught to hate myself." As the narrative unfolds, Tre'vell knits together the history of trans people on screen with stories of their life growing up and their formative experiences as a Black, trans journalist.

Just because we're on a hiatus doesn't mean we've run out of things to say! In this week's minisode, jarrett shares his thoughts on You People and Tre'vell …sorta…explains why they're not in a particular rush to see it. The two also react to the horrific behavior of the Memphis Police Department's so-called Scorpion unit and their killing of Tyre Nichols. Plus, Tre'vell has an honorable mention that should bring some joy to word nerds.Mentioned In this Episode:Tyre NicholsYou PeopleThe Future is BlackQueerty Award - VOTE FANTIWe See Each OtherDIS/Honorable Mentions Tre'vell HM: Black CrosswordGo ahead and @ usEmail: FANTI@maximumfun.orgIG@FANTIpodcast@Jarrett Hill@rayzon (Tre'vell)Twitter@FANTIpodcast@TreVellAnderson@JarrettHill@vivalapalma (Producer Palmira Muniz) @Swish (Senior Producer Laura Swisher)Palmira Muniz is ProducerLaura Swisher is senior producer Music: Cor.eceGraphics: Ashley NguyenFANTI is produced and distributed by MaximumFun.org
