Welcome back to the show! This is a special episode brought to us by our Queer News contributor Darian Aaron, Senior Director of Local News: U.S. South for GLAAD. This episode digs into GLAAD's newly released 2026 HIV Stigma Report with a powerful intergenerational conversation taking root down South.   While Gen Z is the most out generation in history, GLAAD's latest report reveals a startling knowledge gap: only 31% of Gen Z feel knowledgeable about HIV, compared to 60% of Gen X. To bridge this divide, four generations of Black Southerners, Baby Boomers, Gen X, Millennials, and Gen Z, gathered at the ArtsXchange in East Point, Georgia, to put real faces, history, and radical honesty behind the data.   Darian was joined by Jerrell Hardnett, Associate Director of Education & Advocacy at GLAAD and author of the report, alongside Black Southern advocates to unpack what it takes to break historic silos. They discuss the systemic failures of sexual health education, the promise of modern prevention like PrEP, and why sharing stories of thriving, joyful lives today is the ultimate antidote to lingering epidemic-era shame.   As GLAAD CEO Sarah Kate Ellis notes in the report: "Ending HIV stigma is possible. Lachi is so much more than a visionary. She is the vision. In addition to her work in the music industry, Lachi is an author, champion of disability cultures, and a media personality. She has spoken on national and international stages advocating for new ways to converse about stigmas surrounding disabilities. Lachi is also the co-founder of R.A.M.P.D. aka Recording Artists and Music Professionals with Disabilities. RAMPD "works to make the highest levels of the music industry more disability inclusive."   Lachi talks with Anna about her loss of sight, overcoming adversity and how she's breaking down stigmas in her own way. They also discuss her singles Life on Hard and The Bag as well as the journey to virality and a grammy nomination. Later, join Anna for an exclusive interview with educator and politician Dr. Everton Blair . Dr. Everton Blair is on a historic campaign for a position in congress in Georgia's 13th district. Should he win, he would be the first openly out gay man to win the seat in Georgia. The polls are currently open and this week marks the last week of early voting. Dr. Blair was an educator first and the "first Black and youngest-ever member elected to the Gwinnett County Board of Education." During his time working for Gwinnett County, he increased services for students, raised teachers wages, and took the lead for Metro Atlanta's COVID response team. Dr. Blair converses with Anna about his love for math and teaching, the work he's done for Georgia's largest school system and how that inspired him to run for congress, the shade between congressmen, and the future of AI data centers and the detrimental effect it has on Black and Brown communities.   Dr. Blair fights for "a people-first economic agenda that puts money in the pockets of regular people, and puts an end to the loopholes that allow greedy corporations to pick our pockets" Improving schools and raises for educators, the strengthening of LGBTQ+ rights, the abolishment of ICE, and affordable housing.   Want to support this podcast?

Then, in the early days of mobile, he led m-Qube through each company phase from figuring out product market fit to the hypergrowth years and eventually an acquisition by VeriSign. Beyond the exit, m-Qube is legendary for its "alumni network," having produced a generation of founders and executives who have gone on to build many successful companies in Boston and beyond. Jeff also spent years as a VC with Bain Capital Ventures, where he sat on the board of LinkedIn for three years leading up to their IPO. He later joined a portfolio company as the CEO of Skyhook Wireless which was acquired by Liberty Media. Today, Jeff is the CEO and Co-Founder of Hometap which has a very meaningful mission: making homeownership less stressful and more accessible. Emma-Jean Thackray is a musical polymath whose creative approach was shaped by playing in brass bands as a child in West Yorkshire and studying jazz composition and performance at university. Her 2021 debut album 'Yellow' topped the UK Jazz Albums Chart and won Jazz FM Album of the Year. Her second album, 'Weirdo', followed in 2025 and was nominated for that year's Mercury Prize. Entirely written, recorded, performed and produced by Emma-Jean, the record ultimately became a deeply personal grief diary following the sudden death of her partner.
