Award-winning journalist and Zionist Yardena Schwartz returns to Grace for Impact to cut through the noise on two competing narratives: Nicholas Kristof's largely unsubstantiated NYT op-ed alleging systematic Israeli prisoner abuse of Palestinians, and the just-released 300-page Civil Commission report documenting Hamas's fully substantiated crimes against women and children on October 7th. She also makes a compelling case for why West Bank annexation would be, in her own words, the unraveling of the Jewish state. For more, you can follow the show on Instagram @GraceforimpactpodcastProduced by Peoples Media Hosted on Acast. With America In Major News Views & Headlines Changing Everyday, This Book is Particularly Intriguing Now!!In 1974 John Egerton published his seminal work, The Americanization of Dixie. Pulitzer Prize-winner Cynthia Tucker and award-winning author Frye Gaillard carry Egerton's thesis forward in The Southernization of America, a compelling series of linked essays considering the role of the South in shaping America's current political and cultural landscape. They dive deeper, examining the morphing of the Southern strategy of Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan into the Republican Party of today. They find hope in the South too, a legacy rooted in the civil rights years that might ultimately lead the nation on the path to redemption. Tucker and Gaillard bring a multiracial perspective and years of political reporting to bear on a critical moment in American history, a time of racial reckoning and democracy under siege.Frye Gaillard is an award-winning journalist with over 30 published works on Southern history and culture, including Watermelon Wine; Cradle of Freedom: Alabama and the Movement that Changed America; The Books That Mattered: A Reader's Memoir; Journey to the Wilderness: War, Memory, and a Southern Family's Civil War Letters; Go South to Freedom; A Hard Rain: America in the 1960s, Our Decade of Hope, Possibility, and Innocence Lost; and The Slave Who Went to Congress. A Hard Rain was selected as one of NPR's Best Books of 2018. Writer-in-residence at the University of South Alabama, he is also John Egerton Scholar in Residence at the Southern Foodways Alliance at the University of Mississippi. He is the winner of the Clarence Cason Award for Nonfiction Writing, the Lillian Smith Book Award, and the Eugene Current-Garcia Award For Distinction in Literary Scholarship. In 2019, Gaillard was awarded the Alabama Governor's Arts Award for his contributions to literature.Cynthia Tucker is a Pulitzer Prize-winning syndicated columnist who has spent most of her career in journalism, having previously worked for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution as an editorial page editor and as a Washington-based political columnist. She has also been featured as a political commentator on television and radio. Tucker's work as a journalist has been celebrated by the National Association of Black Journalists (who inducted her into its hall of fame), Harvard University, and the Alabama Humanities Foundation. She spent three years as a visiting professor at the University of Georgia's Grady College of Journalism and is currently the journalist-in-residence at the University of South Alabama.© 2026 Building Abundant Success!!2026 All Rights ReservedJoin Me on ~ iHeart Media @ https://tinyurl.com/iHeartBASSpot Me on Spotify: https://tinyurl.com/yxuy23baAmazon Music ~ https://tinyurl.com/AmzBASAudacy: https://tinyurl.com/BASAud

When the Supreme Court handed down its decision in Dobbs v. Jackson, the landmark case overturning Roe v. Wade, it marked a turning point in the lives of millions of Americans. It was also the culmination of a decades-long movement whose grievances were embodied by the man who wrote the court's opinion: Samuel Anthony Alito Jr.Prize-winning journalist Peter Canellos will tell us about his new book:‘Revenge for the Sixties: Sam Alito and the Triumph of the Conservative Legal Movement.' It is the first-ever biography of the most pivotal Justice on the Supreme Court whose decisions, like the overturning of Roe, will drive the reshaping of America.
Born into one of the most storied families in American history, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was fourteenyears old when his father was assassinated. He has since spent his life grappling with the weight of his family's legacy. Like his martyred father, RFK Jr. longs to be a hero, but he has struggled with his demons. "I knew daddy was watching me, and that he loved me," he wrote in a diary entry, "But I also felt I was disappointing him."Those thoughts were set down in his diary when he was serving out a monthlong prison term in Puerto Rico for civil disobedience. The experience changed his life. Alone in his cell, he was forced to grapple with his personal conflicts-his addictions to drugs and women-but also to question everything that he and his family once held sacred, including their allegiance to the Democratic Party, which had sustained the Kennedy family for generations.RFK Jr. became disillusioned with many of the party's leaders even as he committed himself to carving out a distinct identity as a public servant. He would vow to step up his environmental crusade, later establishing himself as a public health critic with controversial views on vaccines. He became a political maverick. But even now, in his seventies, and after an unexpected pivot into the national spotlight as a political and cultural figure at odds with both the Democratic Party and his family, RFK Jr. is still fighting to live up to the legacy of his father. This timely release marks the one-year anniversary of RFK Jr.'s appointment as Secretary for Health and Human Services, reflecting on his impactful first year in office. It uncovers the personal struggles, family pressures, and political milestones that have shaped his extraordinary and often contradictory life.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/arroe-collins-unplugged-totally-uncut--994165/support.

Send us a textThis episode of our podcast is a tribute for a giant figure in the history of North Carolina. Governor Jim Hunt served for 16 years and he led the way in education reform in our region of the country. The modern North Carolina owes much to his leadership in the state. It also is a tribute to one of the great reporter of our time, journalist Peter Arnett. He had a distinctive voice that you recognized from the moment he spoke his first words in any report. He was on the front lines of war zones, revolutions, and manhunts all over the world from war torn regions of the Middle East, to Africa, South America, and Europe. He won two Pulitzer prizes. He passed away at age 90. This episode is also dedicated to three friends: Dr. Fred Paul Norman, who helped me lose 100lbs and is the founder of the Myrtle Beach Diet Center in the community where we record these shows, Gerry McDaniel who was an activist in our community for years and former Vice President Dick Cheney who we forgot to mention in our 2025 wrap up episode despite having done two shows when he passed away earlier this year. With America In Major New Administration & the Political News View Headlines Changing Everyday, This Book is Particularly Intriguing Now!!In 1974 John Egerton published his seminal work, The Americanization of Dixie. Pulitzer Prize-winner Cynthia Tucker and award-winning author Frye Gaillard carry Egerton's thesis forward in The Southernization of America, a compelling series of linked essays considering the role of the South in shaping America's current political and cultural landscape. They dive deeper, examining the morphing of the Southern strategy of Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan into the Republican Party of today, the racial backlash against President Obama, family separation on our southern border, the rise of the Christian right, the white supremacist riots in Charlottesville, the death of George Floyd, and the attack on our nation's capitol. She spent three years as a visiting professor at the University of Georgia's Grady College of Journalism and is currently the journalist-in-residence at the University of South Alabama.© 2025 Building Abundant Success!!2025 All Rights ReservedJoin Me on ~ iHeart Media @ https://tinyurl.com/iHeartBASSpot Me on Spotify: https://tinyurl.com/yxuy23baAmazon Music ~ https://tinyurl.com/AmzBASAudacy: https://tinyurl.com/BASAud

Award-winning journalist and news anchor Elex Michaelson dreamed of working in the news business since he was a kid. Well, that dream became a reality due to his incredible work ethic, talent, determination, and undoubtedly good-natured personality. But don't let that nice-guy persona fool you. Elex is tough. He can interview CA Governor Gavin Newsom in the morning and President Donald Trump in afternoon, and both will leave feeling like they got a fair interview, largely in part because they did. Elex's skill is that he knows how to ask a pointed question without picking a side, giving his guest the room to answer. And I'm honored to welcome one of the best newscasters in the business and my friend, Elex Michaelson, to our show today. Elex has been the anchor of various nightly newscasts at @FoxLA and host of #TheIssueIs, a smart political round up of the local, state, and national issues of the week. The show's success is largely due to Elex and his A-list Rolodex, including former CA governor Arnold Schwarzenegger (Arnold actually took Elex to the gym to give him work-out tips since), senators, legendary attorneys (Gloria Allred was on Elex's show with my husband, @JohnKobyltRadio, and he got the two to dance on LIVE TV). Then there was the time he traveled with Newsom to China, interviewed Kamala Harris, and so much more. Elex has a way of getting people on opposite sides of the political spectrum to find common ground, and everyone leaves with a handshake and feeling like they got their point across successfully. And ultimately, that benefits the viewer. Before #Fox11, Elex worked for @ABC7LA, and he told me about the time he covered the Democratic National Convention and how he scored interviews with Bernie Sanders, Hillary Clinton, and Donald Trump. And that's all Elex's hustle. Then there's his mother's cookies. Crystal Michaelson brings them to every taping of #TheIssueIs, something everyone looks forward to. The two are close, and there's a story behind that, too. So what does Elex do in his off time? We'll ask. Where does he get his cool socks? Well ask that, too. His favorite music? We've got a list. Elex, thanks for having me on your show, too. Enjoyed every minute. It will be weird to turn on the news every night and NOT see Elex, but he won't be far. And his new venture is sure to be exciting. Because he'll make it that way. Please join me in welcoming Elex Michaelson to my show, #DeborahKobyltLIVE on all video and audio podcast platforms. I'm your host, #DeborahZaraKobylt, and it's my pleasure to welcome you here.
