Rebuilding Entries!: Listener David: Sorry I didn't make it into the first round, I always seem behind when you guys announce an entry show. Here are my plans to rebuild my pistol collection with $5,000. I am assuming no shipping, tax, or transfer fees on any of these. Most of my pricing is an average from Gunbroker, picking the first 2 or 3 completed and roughly averaging them together. I want to bookend with not really cheats this time. First up is a Mac-5 mp5 clone as a large format pistol. Atlantic firearms has them for $1,010 but I paid $975 for mine last year. Roller delayed 9mm is sweet. Next up is a blued Smith & Wesson Model 25 in 45 Colt with a 6 inch barrel. The less known Irish twin of the 29. $775 For carry, I would pick up another Hellcat Pro in 9mm. $550 For backup carry, I am adding an LCP Max in .380 $300 Next up is a Tisas 1911. These are on Gunbuyer.com for $320 To scratch my big bore itch, I picked a Ruger Super Blackhawk Bisley in 44 Magnum with a 7.5 inch barrel. $800 on gunbroker. I suppose for "big-ish" bore? A Hi-point JXP in 10mm. Just bought one for $129 from RK guns on sale but I see $150 would buy one quite easily. Next, but not growing a man-bun for it, a CZ75B in 9mm. $550 My last choice is a bit of a cheat, I would buy a build kit from Maf-arms.com (shout out to Matt) for a G19 clone for $221.33 and since the frame would cost roughly $3 to print, that leaves me just over $300 for a 3D printer. Also the BB19 from Broken Bullets is the best grip for the 3D printed Glock, change my mind! To be honest, I am pretty happy with what I have now, so many of these would be re-buying old friends. There are a couple of things I would probably do differently, but it's minimal. Thank you all for the show. ======================================================================== Listener Russell: Hi, I've been listening for about a year. I found the idea of rebuilding my collection super intriguing. I've bought and sold/traded so many. I think now I know exactly what I'd need bare minimum in a collection. So first, I'm replacing my edc. A Shield Plus in 9mm for $420. No doubt absolutely the best all around carry gun I've ever had. Then I'm replacing my Bodyguard 2.0 $400. The most fun gun I've ever bought. It's crazy how usable it is for the size. Now the rest I don't currently own but these are what I'd get if I had to start over. For home defense id get: A Smith&Wesson M&P 2.0 with the 4.6” barrel in 10mm $625.

There are currently a couple on gunbroker with a buy now price around $3500. With the remaining $1500, I would buy 15 Altors in 9mm at about $100 each. I would also like a bandolier so I can carry all of the altors. I'm thinking a cartridge belt style that just holds the barrel in place. It would leave the “trigger” exposed, but those are 15 risks that I'm willing to live with. On a more serious note, I think I'd start with an HK CC9 with an optic $750. Then a Steyr M9A2 for $500. That's one thing from my current collection that I'd have a really hard time parting with. Next would be a Walther PDP Pro-X with an optic $1200. Then I'd have to get a 22, and I think the Ruger MK4 22/45 with a suppressor would be a great option $700 (with inexpensive suppressor). That leave me with $1850. I think with that money I would buy 18 9mm altors……jk. With that I'd look for a quality 1911 and maybe a CZ 75 variant. And I can go higher or lower on either depending on the one that I find first. Then back to Buds to wrap things up with a S&W Bodyguard 2.0 and a S&W 642 for all my pocket carry needs. $400 and $450, they zero me out. But really, if I have nothing but $5K in my hand? Listener Chuck: Episode 455, just some thoughts "J-frame good" -- that it is, though I'm pretty much stuck on the 6 round Taurus 856 now. If I have to go small, I'll run with a snub as long as I can, probably an LCR. The LCP I find to be a miserable thing to shoot. Don't like it. Specialized for when anything else is too big. In years past I picked up both a Kahr CM40 and CM9. The .40 is, surprisingly, not horrible to shoot. Handgunhero shows them as almost exactly the same size (in profile, I know they're thicker) as the LCP. —-------------------------------------------------- Listener G: Howdy, I've been a listener for a while and have participated in a few of these in the past and I really enjoy when yall do them. What follows is my list of 4 pistols (yes I followed the rules, unlike some of the hosts….). My first is a beautiful Italian race gun that I found out about from LifeSizePotato (praise be upon him). 6” 45acp Pardini GT The next two are from C&Rsenal. And I can't wait till they get fully switched to the new format and resume releasing episodes again. I currently have an Othais and Mae sized hole in my heart. Lancaster 4 barrel This one is just neat, a neat mechanism and a neat form factor. Frommer Stop in 32acp(frommer) This one is one of favorite guns of all time. Who wouldn't love a small, long recoil pistol. Calico M100 pistol. Lastly is ‘Space Balls: The gun' Honestly I want this because I love Mel Brooks movies and also because I want to have something terrible to point at whenever someone asks me what I spent my winnings on. Just for the sheer pleasure that I would get from the other person's confusion. P.S. thank yall, I really enjoy y'all's podcast. Also Mr. Beard should probably get some sleep from time to time. Springfield Armory NHS is high on my list but it may be a bit far for a day trip. Thank yall. —--------------------------------------- Listener Myles: Hi Ryan, I am glad you did this view feed back subject. So my picks for this might not be outrageous but would require me to move. 1) AMT Automag in 44 magnum. Just because. 2) a custom Magnum Research BFR with 3” barrel in 30 carbine. I cast fireball. 3) for my one none handgun the dainty little Lady's Home Companion. Nothing say stay off my lawn like 12 round of 45-70. —------------------------ Listener David: If I had unlimited money, here are the guns I would get. I have two rifles. They are kinda cheats I suppose, but I don't care. First, I would go to London and get custom fitted for a Holland & Holland double rifle in 700 Nitro Express.

We thought it would be a great time to review some listener emails to our lottery episode! Listener Chris: Greetings all y'all from the Secret City, If I somehow managed to win a $10 Million lottery my three gun choices would be: 1) The Mars Automatic Pistol in .45 Mars Long Case. 2) Suomi KP/-31 (Or a PPSh-41, I'm not picky) 3) and finally so I could commute to my own personal range and land of general tomfoolery I would have a Vespa 150 TAP. I may not be fast but the road ahead will always be clear. Thank you all for the years of entertainment and laughter. Keep your sticks on the ice. —————— Listener Chuck: "If I won the lottery, there would be signs..." Assume I'm some place where all this cool stuff is legal. Or, I'm rich, I can buy a measure of privacy. 1) The Anderson Wheeler modern clone of the break top Webley, 7 shot .357. I have no idea if any of those were ever actually made. (That's actually about it. Not thinking of anything else exotic right now.) —————————————— Listener Phil: Hello, My Neuvo-Riche Millionaire List Smith & Wesson .357 Registered Magnum, 3 ½” or 4”, like-new condition. Hamilton Bowen M1917 Redhawk in .50AE. Essentially a Redhawk done up in a manner reminiscent of the Smith 1917. Lugerman P-2020 Luger in .45 ACP. Cheat Pick- Colt Bulldog, model 1877 Gatling gun, all brass, 45-70. With all the furniture, boxes and doo-dads and what not. I would call it Rooster. And if I were to win in real life, I dream about a bank of CNC machines as seen in the TFB video of the Manhurin factory and a group of talented individuals who then go down my list of small- batch runs of Mauser C96, Terriers, Merwin & Hulbert, HK M13, P08, 1917's, Smythons, Trejos. Meanwhile I'll be scouring the country for plans to that Detonics Top-Break! Ah, dreams ——————————— Listener Rob: Here are my selections , Sticking to handguns unlike some folks, but may have lost count a little Purchase the custom s&w revolver Jerry Miculek used to set record of 6 plates in 1.88 seconds. Would likely take big sum of money to the family, would own for one year, train and take classes extensively to see how close I can get to the record. (Likely not close at all, but the chase would be fun) Then, put for auction and market the hell Out of it with all proceeds to promote youth shooting sports along with anything the JM family wants to support, in equal parts.
