这期节目,我想分享一位在华语世界或许略显小众,但绝对值得你用心聆听的伟大音乐人——ANOHNI(曾以 Antony and the Johnsons 的名字为人所知)。
Eleanor Barraclough explores the hidden histories of the Viking Age by focusing on the real lives of Norse individuals through everyday objects rather than modern myths. A primary example is a 1200 AD runic message discovered on a sliver of wood in Bergen, Norway, from a woman named Gytha who writes "Gytha says that you should go home" to her husband while he was drinking in a tavern. While Gytha's message is clear, her husband's attempt at a response on the other side is completely unintelligible, likely due to his inebriated state. These spiky runes were often carved into hard surfaces like wood, stone, or even bone to serve as private, personal communications. Barraclough, who has a background in Old Norse language and literature, derived the title of her book, "Embers of the Hands," from an Old Norse kenning for gold which she repurposed to symbolize precious human stories found in historical ephemera. The Viking Age itself is traditionally marked by the shocking 793 AD raid on the rich monastery at Lindisfarne, also known as Holy Island, which sent terror-filled shockwaves across Europe. This era is characterized by a vast diaspora reaching from Arctic Scandinavia to the North Atlantic and eastward down Eurasian waterways to the Islamic Caliphate. 1/81600 SCANDANAVIA
Valentin has been in Carly's attic for months. His phone call to Anna's clinic was a mistake, Cullum caught it, and now Brennan is in Carly's bedroom. Meanwhile, Chase shows up to Willow's office with flowers and Michael is on his way out the door when it happens. He sees enough. Shannon has thoughts. Brook Lynn is carrying serious guilt about Jordan's accident and it is starting to show. Alexis gives her a reality check about the adoption line, Trina delivers a package at the worst possible moment, and Brook Lynn's reaction says everything. Brick visits Jordan and makes no attempt to hide how he feels about her. Curtis is building a case against Isaiah, and the paint from the accident scene is pointing toward a German vehicle. Rocco keeps ending up near Cullum's room during his community service hours, Britt pulls him out, and what she does next is what Shannon and Amanda cannot stop arguing about. Joss is gathering intel she was never supposed to have, Dante tells her he already knows she is WSB, and her visit to Nina is one of the most awkward scenes of the week. Nathan pushes Lulu to send Rocco out of town and Lulu is not having it. Lucy arrives at Bobbie's while Ava is already there with Jenz, inserts herself into a vacation plan, and later tries to provoke Ava directly. Ethan turns down Sonny's loyalty test and makes clear he has his own reasons for wanting Jenz handled. Kristina and Lucas plan the Marco Rios Tennis Center, James and Nathan have a moment at the Metro Court that leaves more questions than answers, and the Savoy is buzzing ahead of Michael James Scott's performance next week. We also get into our Port Charles Pipeline, listener mail about the fan trip conversation, and a preview of Thursday's Port Charles 411 on Lucy Coe. New episodes every Monday and Thursday. Vijit Nair, VP of Product Management at Corelight, joins Sean Martin on the floor of RSAC Conference 2026 for a conversation about what it takes to move security operations from AI-assisted to AI-autonomous. Corelight is the fastest-growing company in the network detection and response (NDR) space, and Nair has spent six years helping build the platform from early network monitoring to its current position as a Gartner Magic Quadrant Leader. The company's open NDR platform transforms raw network traffic into high-fidelity, unopinionated evidence -- and that evidence is now powering the next leap: agentic triage. Corelight's newly launched Agentic Triage product moves beyond the "level one" AI assistant model -- where a system answers questions but takes no action -- to a "level two" agent that actually investigates and triages alerts. It identifies the riskiest entities in an environment, collects all associated context and data, runs a full investigation cycle, and delivers a verdict with full evidence attached. Nair calls it "bringing the receipts": analysts see not just the conclusion but every step of the reasoning. Early results show a 10x increase in investigation speed and 60-70% of alerts being automatically triaged. The network is having a resurgence as an essential visibility layer, and Nair explains why: attackers have adapted to EDR. Nation-state-style campaigns like Volt Typhoon and Salt Typhoon operate in the network layer, targeting unmanaged devices, routers, firewalls, and VPNs that endpoint tools cannot see. Corelight almost always finds something in the first 30 days of a pilot deployment -- from shadow IT and shadow VPNs to active red team attacks using tools like Sliver-based C2 frameworks. On the question of SOC adoption, Nair pushes back on the assumption that hesitation comes from the top. The hunger for AI-powered tools runs from CISOs all the way down to the analysts dealing with alert overload and understaffed teams. A recent customer put it simply: "This is amazing. Please don't take it away from me." Nair frames the path to full autonomy as a spectrum -- from human-controlled to fully agentic -- and draws the comparison to Waymo: the journey is measured and incremental, but the destination is inevitable. The saga of Jeffrey Epstein is ongoing and ever-present in the news. And there are powerful lessons to be learned. But the talking heads are mostly just spinning their wheels. So, if you're seeking some straight talk and inside scoop about all of it, you've come to the right place. This is a 2-part episode, as there is much ground to cover. The title, of course, is an homage to the great Beatles song. But in truth, Ms. Maxwell does indeed wield a hammer. The Trump folks want to use it to do damage control and she's looking to dig a tunnel out of the federal bureau of prisons. It remains to be seen whether Ghislaine Maxwell will be the extinguisher or the accelerant to this dumpster fire of a case. IN THIS EPISODE: Preamble: Ghislaine is talkin' to the feds, but to what end? Thoughts on whether Epstein took his own life, through the lens of the suicide and mental health epidemic in jails and prisons; The non-prosecution plea agreement that Ghislaine Maxwell says requires dismissal of all her charges; What this really shows is the importance of well drafted plea agreements; Statistical analysis of the “trial penalty”; Fighting the dreaded appeal waiver in plea agreements; Pleading “straight up” when the government is offering you a terrible plea agreement. Stay tuned for PART II!

This episode invites you to align your desires with a higher purpose and find joy in bringing happiness to others, deepening your spiritual connection along the way.Dedicated to my dear friend Rabbi Yaakov Wohlgelernter who opened my eyes and shared this Torah with me.May the inspiration that results from this episode be a merit to a Refuah Sheleimah for Elka Devorah bas Miriam Rivka Chana._____________Recorded from a live audience presentation in the TORCH Centre - Levin Family Studios (B) in Houston, Texas on March 25, 2025.Released as Podcast on March 27, 2025_____________DONATE to TORCH: Please consider supporting the podcasts by making a donation to help fund our Jewish outreach and educational efforts at https://www.torchweb.org/support.php. The Exodus was for good. When the Jewish people left Egypt, they did not return. Pharaoh pursued them (to his detriment) but the nation never turned back. When Moshe initially requested from Pharaoh permission for the nation to leave, it was not supposed to be permanent. It was only supposed to be a 3-day excursion into the wilderness to have a festival of sacrifices to God. What changed? In this Parsha podcast we explore the counterfactual 3-day Exodus. We also discover a brand new insight that each one of us shares some quality with Moshe. Happy Monday! Sam and Emma speak with David Austin Walsh, postdoctoral associate at the Yale Program for the Study of Antisemitism and college fellow at the University of Virginia, to discuss his recent book Taking America Back: The Conservative Movement and the Far Right. First, Sam and Emma run through updates on the Harris campaign's momentum, Trump's email problem, the DNC, Ilhan Omar's race, Trump's tough few weeks, Biden's medicare drug price negotiations, consumer protection policy, Israel's continuing genocide in Gaza, Ukraine's counter-invasion, and dropping violent crime rates in 2024, before basking in Trump and Vance's beautifully poor handling of the “weird” allegations. David Austin Walsh then joins, diving right into the major role of one William F. Buckley in shaping American conservatism in the second half of the 20th Century, presenting himself (and all of his bigotry) as the “rational Republican.” Stepping back, Walsh explores how Buckley, the founder of the National Review, came to be the resectable staunch anti-communist and anti-labor aficionado that just happened to have close ties to full-on Neo Nazis, looking at the roles of folks like Merwin Hart, Charles Lindbergh, and Russell Maguire in shaping the more explicitly racist antisemitic strands of Buckley's war on communism, before Barry Goldwater's major loss in 1964 (and the rise of the Civil Rights Movement) saw him begin to push away the electoral risk of rhetorical extremism. Expanding on this, David explores how Buckley's goal of obscuring the bigotry behind the policies of his party became a fundamental element of the conservative political apparatus in the decades that followed, with lines being drawn between the intellectual race science of the Bell Curve and the explicit eugenics of William Shockley, and other major talking heads like Rush Limbaugh and Tucker Carlson becoming media darlings while pushing the line of “respectability” further and further. After briefly touching on the important role of the “crackpot” extremist bigots in Buckley's political charade, Walsh steps back to analyze the role catholicism and theocracy have played in the background of this evolution, and wraps up with a brief assessment of the Right's willing embrace of reactionary populism over recent decades. And in the Fun Half: Sam and Emma dive deep into reports of the major disarray within the Trump campaign in the wake of Harris replacing Biden on the Democratic ticket, before taking in Dr. Tanya Haj Hassan's reflections on medical care in Gaza and the unmatched horrors facing Palestinians. The MR Team also has an expansive conversation on Harris' approach to Gaza, how her public stance on the genocide influences Biden and Bibi (if at all), and what they'd like to see from her moving forward, plus, your IMs!
