I've been looking forward to the next HGR episode…hint hint! I bet both of you are pretty busy.   Here's hoping y'all get some free time for a new episode!   I'm currently on hometime in Commierado. The state of the 2nd isn't good here. Commierado's legislature is again passing more gun control.   I really do wonder if they've ever read the Constitution and the Bill of Rights?    In regards to our previous emails, Ryan, I don't have any updates on Tisas USA, as far as their operations go. I did learn some interesting information about theirs new CEO. Are y'all familiar with Classic Firearms on YouTube? Kaya, formerly of Classic Firearms, is more the CEO of Tisas' new US operations.    I'll keep y'all posted as I find out more information.    As for new additions to my growing armory, I recently picked up an H&K VP9 in 9mm. It came with 11 mags, and a Holosun 507…. for $700.    Weerd, could you please suggest a good recipe for whiskey sours? Thanks!   Sincerely, Nate   PS Ryan here's an attachment for something you're in dire need of   Weerd:   Oddball:   David:   Drink Segment:   Old Crow Boubon   Whiskey Sour:  2oz Whiskey (Rye is classic) 1oz Lemon Juice 0.5 Oz Simple Syrup (adjust to taste)   Cinnamon Challah Ingredients 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour 2 eggs and 1 more for egg wash 2  ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast 1 packet 3 tablespoons brown sugar ⅓  cup olive oil 1 teaspoon salt ⅔  cup warm water Filling ¼ cup canola oil ¾  cup brown sugar 2 teaspoons cinnamon Instructions Add the flour, brown sugar, and salt to a mixing bowl. Proof the yeast in the water with a pinch of sugar. Add the yeast, eggs, and oil to the flour. Mix into a dough and knead for 7 minutes or until fully developed. Cover and allow to rise for 1 hour in a warm place. While the dough is rising, make the filling a medium sized bowl. Add the oil, sugar and cinnamon. Mix. Separate the dough into 3 pieces. Roll each one into a square with a rolling pin. Spread the cinnamon-sugar mix on the dough, leaving a 1/2 inch around the edges. Roll each square. Pinch the ends and stretch each strand to about a foot long. Braid them up! Place on a non-stick baking surface and cover for 30 minutes. Preheat the oven to 375°F Brush the challah with beaten egg. Bake for 30 minutes. My first ambulance ride to the ER.  Serious dehydration and quite low potassium. Blood sugar spiked but all better now.    -Bangor trip with the family; our youngest whooped us in bowling. SUCKED!!! -ALL the 007 Movies on Netflix!!   Weerd:   Daniel: -S&W Night Guard 396 and more .44 Specials   David:   Drink Segment: Backwoods Bastard   Food Segment:  Leg of lamb Ingredients 7-8 lb leg of lamb 1 Tbs Black pepper 2 Tsp Salt ½ Tsp Crushed rosemary 2-3 cloves of Garlic Olive oil Recipe Rinse and pat dry the leg of lamb, and place on a rack in a roasting dish, meaty side up. Mix salt, pepper, and rosemary, then coat the surface of the lamb with about half the mixture. Sliver the garlic and coat it with the remaining spice mix. Poke holes in the roast and insert slivers of garlic. Coat with olive oil. Preheat the oven to 450F. Put the roasting pan in and immediately lower the temperature to 325F. Cook until the internal temperature reaches 125–130°F for medium-rare. Evacuation plan, Bunker plan, Medical Emergency plan, Fire plan, etc. Mental preparation: security team members need to give themselves permission to do bad things to bad people. If anyone can't, they should be relegated to a support role. There is no shame in this. Build good mental habits. Primary and secondary members assigned to provide information to Law Enforcement/911 Name and location of incident Physical description of shooter(s) Location of the shooter. Number of shooters, if more than one. Number and type of weapons held by the shooter(s) IE: handgun, shotgun, rifle? Number of potential victims at the location. How many people are present? Identifiable entrances and exits. Are the doors numbered? Law Enforcement Response - what to expect They are not there to treat wounded, they are there to end the threat. The initially responding officers will shout commands and may physically move or restrain people other than the shooters as needed. Once the threat is ended, additional first responders will enter to provide medical care. How to Survive the Incident Run, hide, fight Once they arrive, follow LEO instructions, keep hands visible, avoid quick movements. OODA loop: Observe, Orient, Decide, Act Legal defence: If force was used (up to and including deadly force) protecting members, there's a good chance that person or persons will be taken into custody. The family of the attacker may sue the defenders and victims. After an event: If LEOs haven't arrived, clear the scene Once LEOs arrive, see above Try to avoid disturbing the crime scene within reasonable limits Medical care. As with a depressurized airplane, check yourself first, then others Media: Primary and secondary security team personnel assigned to interact with media and run interference between them and traumatized/injured members. Subgun -- was the Thompson available yet?  Shotgun:  not expert at all, but a 12 gauge pump with a big bayonet seems like a good thing to have on hand.  Trench Broom.    I think I'd also want a big old Bowie style knife as well.   World War, round two, the rematch.  handgun.  More good options by then, but I think I'll stick with the 1911, this time in A1 configuration.  Rifle, Garand, seeing as I probably couldn't get a Sturmgewehr.    Subgun -- "Grease Gun" .45.  Shotgun -- whatever 12 gauge pump is available, bayonet not needed, as we're not doing trench warfare.  Big Bowie knife again -- too useful, less likely to be used in combat.   Alternate history what if:  What if low residue smokeless powder had been developed and introduced 50 years earlier, in the 1840s instead of the 1890s.  Would we have seen early introduction of auto loading firearms, or would revolvers and manual repeaters continue to dominate into the 20th century?  I suspect "yes, eventually, but not an immediate slamdunk."  It would have made the US Civil War interesting. —--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------   Listener Russell: Hi gents,  There is one movie where the gun mistakes bother me so badly. It's the movie Standoff staring Laurence Fishburne and Thomas Jane. There is a scene where they discuss the attributes of each other's weapon. Fishburne's character brags about being armed with a 45. The gun is a Beretta 92! Jane's character is armed with a single shot shotgun in 20ga. Which Fishburne's character says isn't very powerful and has no range. Funny… The majority of the movie takes place in a house. Even worse this “20ga” is being loaded with RED shells. This scene ruined the entire movie for me. If they would have left out or changed the dialogue about the guns. Takes place in the Civil War. Lots of metallic cartridge guns. Not even hiding it. Tuco shoots from the bathtub. Not going to do that with black powder. Also, Blondie unloaded Tuco's gun before the showdown. The Army has Gatling guns. I think they were 45/70s.   —-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------   Listener David:   WW1 Loadout: I figure the best way is to split these over multiple emails. So sorry if that makes for a ton of reading! I am assuming logistics for all the crazy calibers are all solved. My main rifle is an M1917 Enfield, officially the "United States Rifle, cal .30, Model of 1917". Guess the guys got paid by the character to name stuff back then. For a carbine-ish choice, I am picking the Short Magazine fed Lee Enfield Mark 3. That just seems like a super handy gun to have inside cramped trenches. My shotgun is an M1897 trench gun with a sword bayonet. If the buckshot doesn't do the trick, I get spear practice (you know, as a little treat.) The machine gun splits into light and heavy. For light, I am picking the Madsen light machine gun and the Gatling gun gets the nod for heavy work. My pistol choice is nothing fancy, the P08 Luger,     WW2 Loadout: Here is my idea for the WW2 load out.Same as before, magic logistics mean plenty of parts and ammo. My WW2 rifle is the M1941 Johnson rifle. Mainly because the Garand is too heavy for anyone to choose on purpose to schlep around. I am swapping a submachine gun for the carbine. That would be the PPSh-41 because I am achieving peace through overwhelming rate of fire. My shotgun is the Browning Auto 5. It's WW2, why are we racking slides like unwashed peasants? Machine gun again gets split into light and heavy. Light this time is the M1918 Browning Automatic Rifle, Heavy duty goes to the venerable M2 Browning because to Hell with you and whatever you are hiding behind! My sidearm choice is the Roth-Steyr M1907. Maine Friday Dinner- Teagan Wright   Main Topic:    We figured we would talk about some plot points in movies that include guns, but would ruin the plot if they happened. Plus some other gun mistakes!   Fifth Element “Anyone else want to negotiate?”   -Few times this was done right   Law Abiding Citizen:   -Clyde Shelton, given his background, probably wouldn't have opened the door to Clarence Darby not being armed.   -Don't DA's have investigators that are armed? Why wouldn't actual DA's have the ability to be armed in the performance of their duties? (Yes i know, this DA went a little bit above and beyond what most do)   Patriot Games: -When Jack Ryan has the H&K P9S 9mm….just shoot Sean Bean while you're in the middle of it; he was in the middle of an attack, could have had a second gun. I doubt the UK Govt would have cared, but then the credits would have just rolled after 15 mins of a movie.   -After threats are made against Jack & his family, why didnt he ask them for at least a pistol? Jim Greer is a higher up at the CIA, I'm sure he could have pulled some strings to allow Jack to have something other than the over/under shotgun that he apparently doesnt tell his wife where the shells are.   Clear & Present Danger:   -After Escobedo gets nailed by Cortez's henchman, Jack is about to get shot by his henchman with an Uzi. Chavez nails the henchman, a fight ensues with Cortez, who then escapes. WHY DIDNT JACK PICK UP THE HENCHMANS FULLY LOADED UZI?!   -Scene where Clark shoots the guard with a suppressed Glock. Muzzle flash looks like ported barrel. Would the suppressor still have worked?   Sum of All Fears:   -”SHOOT HIM RYAN BEFORE HE FIGURES OUT WHAT IM SAYING” (What if those two called in reinforcements? They didnt know if they had a radio or not)   Die Hard With A Vengance:  -Why not just let Zeus just keep the Model 60 .38 Special, hes chasing a bomber FOR them.   -SWAT: -Dont pull the bus over until SWAT or other PD gets there. Here are my plans to rebuild my pistol collection with $5,000. I am assuming no shipping, tax, or transfer fees on any of these. Most of my pricing is an average from Gunbroker, picking the first 2 or 3 completed and roughly averaging them together. I want to bookend with not really cheats this time. First up is a Mac-5 mp5 clone as a large format pistol. Atlantic firearms has them for $1,010 but I paid $975 for mine last year. Roller delayed 9mm is sweet. Next up is a blued Smith & Wesson Model 25 in 45 Colt with a 6 inch barrel. The less known Irish twin of the 29. $775 For carry, I would pick up another Hellcat Pro in 9mm. $550 For backup carry, I am adding an LCP Max in .380 $300 Next up is a Tisas 1911. These are on Gunbuyer.com for $320 To scratch my big bore itch, I picked a Ruger Super Blackhawk Bisley in 44 Magnum with a 7.5 inch barrel. $800 on gunbroker. I suppose for "big-ish" bore? A Hi-point JXP in 10mm. Just bought one for $129 from RK guns on sale but I see $150 would buy one quite easily. Next, but not growing a man-bun for it, a CZ75B in 9mm. $550 My last choice is a bit of a cheat, I would buy a build kit from Maf-arms.com (shout out to Matt) for a G19 clone for $221.33 and since the frame would cost roughly $3 to print, that leaves me just over $300 for a 3D printer. Also the BB19 from Broken Bullets is the best grip for the 3D printed Glock, change my mind! To be honest, I am pretty happy with what I have now, so many of these would be re-buying old friends. There are a couple of things I would probably do differently, but it's minimal. I found the idea of rebuilding my collection super intriguing. I've bought and sold/traded so many. I think now I know exactly what I'd need bare minimum in a collection.       So first, I'm replacing my edc. A Shield Plus in 9mm for $420. No doubt absolutely the best all around carry gun I've ever had. Then I'm replacing my Bodyguard 2.0 $400. The most fun gun I've ever bought. It's crazy how usable it is for the size.      Now the rest I don't currently own but these are what I'd get if I had to start over. For home defense id get: A Smith&Wesson M&P 2.0 with the 4.6” barrel in 10mm $625.

Visit us at https://www.patreon.com/handgunradio Week In Review:  -Cleaned out the garage and had a nice date with a lady up at the home near me. - Cabot Guns Cloak -Listener G: -For my $5000 handgun collection reset, I would start with a Pardini GT45 (all praise the one and only LifeSize Potato). There are currently a couple on gunbroker with a buy now price around $3500. With the remaining $1500, I would buy 15 Altors in 9mm at about $100 each. I would also like a bandolier so I can carry all of the altors. I'm thinking a cartridge belt style that just holds the barrel in place. It would leave the “trigger” exposed, but those are 15 risks that I'm willing to live with. On a more serious note, I think I'd start with an HK CC9 with an optic $750. Then a Steyr M9A2 for $500. That's one thing from my current collection that I'd have a really hard time parting with. Next would be a Walther PDP Pro-X with an optic $1200. Then I'd have to get a 22, and I think the Ruger MK4 22/45 with a suppressor would be a great option $700 (with inexpensive suppressor). That leave me with $1850. I think with that money I would buy 18 9mm altors……jk. With that I'd look for a quality 1911 and maybe a CZ 75 variant. And I can go higher or lower on either depending on the one that I find first.
