This week we welcome Dean Z as Elvis! When Dean was 3, the documentary "This Is Elvis" was being broadcast on television. He immediately cleared the coffee table, jumped on top of it and started trying to imitate Presley’s every move. Not long after, Dean's mother made his first Elvis jump suit, and he was on his way. After performing in several shows of his own, Dean took off for the bright light city that would set his soul on fire, Las Vegas, at age 17. He relocated to the entertainment mecca to attain the goal of establishing himself as a well-known act. Throughout the next 12 years, Dean performed in Vegas, and has paid tribute to "The Memphis Flash" in Japan, Australia, Norway, Denmark, England, across Canada and the United States. Dean soon earned a spot with the World's Greatest Live Tribute Show, "Legends in Concert," then in 2007, moved to headlining the show in Branson, Missouri. In 2013, Dean decided it was time to go after the title of Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist. He and the 28 other semi-finalists competed for the top ten spots on August 14th with the Finals coming three days later. He brought the house down, and was soon presented with a championship belt, the title of Ultimate Elvis 2013 from EPE, a check for $20,000 and tens of thousands of new fans. The year 2014 was a banner year for Dean, who received the Heart Of The King Award in Las Vegas at the former Las Vegas Hilton, on the same stage the Elvis himself performed over 700 shows during the 1970’s. Dean also had the pleasure of being a part of the national touring production Elvis Lives, a live musical highlighting Elvis’ career that features world champions from the Ultimate Elvis® Tribute Artist ContestTM . As Dean's success as an entertainer and personality grew, so did his creativity. Dean combined his life, love, passion and influences to create a unique concert and show experience, with Broadway-worthy dance moves and spontaneous audience interaction called "The Dean Z Show." The show featured Dean's boundless energy and youthful exuberance as he accompanies the audience on an eclectic musical journey into the bygone eras of soul, rockabilly, rock 'n' roll, pop, and rhythm and blues. During the production, the award-winning and internationally acclaimed entertainer performed the music that inspired his passion for performance, including songs from Elvis Presley, The Beatles, Buddy Holly, Michael Jackson, Sam Cooke and so many others. Since its sold out premiere, “The Dean Z Show” has been mesmerizing audiences of all ages across the country, and will continue to do so. UptimeSV is an Australian startup which won the CoinGeek Hackathon earlier this year. Its cofounder and lead developer, Dean Little, sees the work that Uptime will do as a way to increase the value of the whole Bitcoin SV ecosystem. The idea is to offer a service that allows businesses to check their online presence in different places, on different devices and conduct other technical tests. To do that, Uptime will recruit an army of ordinary people who will allow their devices to be used for testing. In return, they’ll receive micropayments in Bitcoin SV. Dean has high hopes of big businesses becoming Uptime customer: “if you onboarded Google ...the effects are beyond just the income that Google is paying you to do these tests. Because now [Google] is aware of this global, scaleable platform that they can build their business on and by doing so, they’re increasing the value of your investment in BSV.”That’s where the idea of the BSV ecosystem comes in - because all businesses that work with BSV will benefit from others using it at the same time by increasing the value of the network: “even if my business is out-competed by someone who does it better than me, I still benefit as a holder of BSV.”There’s a big emphasis on storing transactional data on the BSV blockchain at the moment, but Dean says there’s no conflict between thinking of BSV as a data storage solution and as money: it’s both. “The unique thing that makes this system work is that you have the ability to value information on a very small scale ...until now there’s been no way to value it. We’re monetizing useful information. We’ve got data everywhere, on everything. The problem is filtering out what we care about and what we don’t.” As an Australian, Dean has a different perspective on BSV than that of a European or North American. “There’s a lot of things happening in the East that the West is not aware of. And I think more and more you’re going to see these things coming out.” So how should the rest of the world prepare for those kinds of development? “All I can say is “learn Chinese”! It’s really amazing to see how quickly they’re building things on this platform. There’s some really creative stuff coming out of some Chinese teams that I’ve been speaking to.” When Dean says he’s been “speaking to” Chinese teams, he means in their languages. He speaks Mandarin, Cantonese and Hakka. There’s no question, Dean is something of a languages sponge: “I like languages. When you do business with people, you learn a couple of things to try to befriend them and over time you learn a couple more little things and all of a sudden, ‘oh, I can speak this language’.” Dean admits that ‘coming to Korea, it’s the first time I’m going to a country where I don’t speak the language.”But by the end of day one of the CoinGeek conference in Seoul, South Korea, Dean had taught himself to order a beer at the bar in Korean. In fact, he says, without a hint of boasting, that he’d already learnt that on the plane from Australia.
On today’s episode of Just the Tips, we peel back the layers on the mystery, wrapped in an enigma, that is Dean Holland. I’ve known Dean for years and if you asked me what it is that Dean does, I couldn’t tell you. But over a recent visit, I realized what Dean’s superpower is: Creating affiliate programs so businesses don’t have to rely on paid traffic. That’s a bona fide superpower, and on today’s episode we dive into how Dean does it. Dean Holland: An Origin Story Dean has sold over $10 million in products online, and only just recently began using paid traffic. I think that if Facebook went away tomorrow, Dean would be perfectly fine (although he’d be a little angry, because he just learned how to use Facebook ads). But how Dean got into entrepreneurship and business more generally was through affiliate marketing. And so he looked at his history as an affiliate marketer, and he said, “Okay, what do the vendors do that make it easier for me as an affiliate marketer?” And he just started building from there. Affiliate marketing brings you the traffic The very basis of having an affiliate program is to have an army of people out there, trying to drive traffic to your business. Affiliates don’t get paid unless a customer buys something, so it’s like having a sales army out there that’s only paid by commission. As Dean says, it’s almost the perfect traffic source. The only trouble is: You don’t own that traffic. You can’t control it. So how do you get the most out of it? The Bearded Wonder provides the answers. Build the highest-earning affiliate program you can The big lesson that Dean took away from being an affiliate marketer is that you have to create the best-paying sales process that you possibly can. Affiliates will go where the money is. If I’m an affiliate thing, and I have 10 different offers that all fit my audience, which one am I going to choose? It’s the one that makes me the most money. Often, affiliates measure their performance by earnings per click. And so an affiliate is going to choose your product every time, if you offer them greater earnings per click. How to keep someone as an affiliate When Dean first started creating affiliate programs, they would be based around a product launch. So there would be a large push for, say, seven days, and then the program would be done. Since then, he’s switched it up so that he has an affiliate platform, where he’s trying to build long-term relationships with his affiliates. And there are a variety of ways to do that, because no one is going to push your products every day to the same audience. But luckily, Dean has lived and breathed the affiliate life, so he knows how to make it work. Fans all the way down from the cheap seats to the front row have been asking Dean and I for a solo episode of Just the Tips for a while now, and finally we’re giving the people what they want. Unfortunately, that does mean that Dean is also here, but we have a great topic we’re diving into this week. Even though both of us have built successful e-commerce businesses, we never actually talk about e-commerce! So today we’re dipping into our personal experience to provide just tips for listeners of Just the Tips. Entrepreneurs should marry Dean Dean told me about the e-commerce business he’s been building with his wife. She was working a job that she hated, and so he wrote her a resignation letter and told her she should turn it in the next day. And she did! Then they started building a business online around makeup tutorials, eventually offering products and informational products. And as Dean says, it has taken a while for it to grow, but in the last four or five months it’s really taken off. His story is a great case study for Just the Tips listeners. Narrow the scope of your market When Dean and his wife started her business, they just thought their clientele would be women. Women who use makeup. And the business did okay, but it never really took off. And then they decided to look at it and say “Who are we truly serving here? Is it every woman, or is there a slice of the market we could target?” And they discovered that if they changed all of their messaging and marketing to women with skin conditions, they could really hone in on a specific target market. And so that’s what they did eight weeks ago, and it’s really taken off since. The mechanics of e-commerce The profit margins on a lot of what you’re going to sell in e-commerce are going to be slim. And so it can be difficult to scale, because you want to do everything yourself in order to not outsource-away those profits. Dean and his wife faced that problem specifically, until fulfillment got to be so much work that it had to be outsourced. And a lot of times when people build e-commerce sites they may build a great front end but not a great back end. And it’s so important to have both in place. You need to be able to get your customer cost down low, so the profit margins are manageable. Go deeper to figure out what you’re selling As Dean says, you’re not selling a product, you’re selling a solution. So Dean and his wife aren’t selling makeup brushes, they’re selling confidence. In Dean’s information products, he’s not selling a way to make money, he’s selling financial freedom. That doesn’t mean you tell your customer that, but you need to know your why, so the person you’re selling to feels why they need what you’re selling. Our second episode is all about the first episode of Supernatural. Do you remember the first time you watched the Pilot? Well Jess sure as hell does! And there are going to be some opinions. Including questions about Dean's amazing leather jacket cleaning abilities. Being our first episode, we're figuring a lot of things out. Things progress. Honest. On November 2, 1983 something found its way into the Winchester home. Mary was killed that night while John barely escaped with his young boys Sam and Dean. He would raise them to know how to hunt and kill anything supernatural. 22 years later, Sam has given up that life and lives with his girlfriend Jessica. When Dean comes by and says, "Dad's on a hunting trip and he hasn't been home in a few days." things change forever. Sam and Dean head out on a case to find their dad, but instead they find an angry spirit: the woman in white. Sam thinks he swore off hunting for good, but as Dean says, it's like riding a bike. When it's all over, they have a lead as to where their dad might be. Instead of following Dean, Sam stays home and goes back to be with Jessica. Until he realizes the thing that killed their mom just killed her. This week Steph & Ally are talking about Supernatural season seven episodes 17 & 18. In episode 17, 'The Born-Again Identity' Hallucifer has pushed Sam to the edge and he is committed into a psychiatric ward while Dean searches for a man named Emmanuel who has the power to heal people. When Dean finds Emmanuel he's surprised to see a familiar face (it's Cas, y'all!) and Meg is back and sassier than ever. In 'Party On, Garth' Dean and a newly sane Sammy get a call to help Garth on a case. There's something killing the children of a brewery owner and the guys can only see it when they're drunk, so of course shenanigans ensue. Today’s episode of Just the Tips is something special for the new year. It’s just Dean and I on this episode, recounting some of the most impactful takeaways we got from the past year in our businesses and our lives. And we look ahead to 2018, with tips on how to improve focus and performance so you can make this year your year. So if you’re looking to get to that next level in the next 12 months, we have some ideas for how to get you there. Time is the greatest currency After a brief discussion about how important time is, and freeing up your own time as an entrepreneur, Dean opened up about what has been happening in his business over 2017 and, it turns out, one of the biggest problems was time. He talked about how he missed deadlines and had difficulty getting things launched because he was too focused on doing things himself, and not growing the team. But he and I worked together to put project management systems in place that allowed him to add people to his team, open up a brand new office and really begin to make things work more efficiently to make time less of a stress on him and his business. And in terms of what surprised Dean this year in his business, you’ll have to listen to find out. Keep it steady When Dean asked me for my biggest takeaway from the last year, I took a different tack. I didn’t have the wild swings of changing or scaling up my business or opening a new office. For me, it was all about keeping steady and focused. I shared some insights from my drum teacher, that while you’re drumming, you’re better off keeping steady and in the groove, then rushing even the fun parts. And that’s the sort of lesson I needed to take into my business. Even when things are going well, and when I’m excited about something, it’s important to stay in the groove, not rush it, and keep everything together. And I’d love to hear your thoughts about how I translated that to concrete activities in my business. Set goals for 2018 Dean and I talked about what we want to do in the coming year, and for me, the number one goal is getting my book out into the world. It’s something I’ve been working on for a long time, but last year it just didn’t feel like the right time. And that book, Autopilot Entrepreneur, is all about helping entrepreneurs set up blueprints and systems so they can identify what parts of their businesses aren’t working, and get them functioning properly. I’m really excited about the prospect of this book helping a lot of people. And Dean has a book on his agenda, too, but he’s being a little more cagey about it. Keep it simple in the new year Dean told me the same thing he’s told his own team, that 2018 will be the year of simplicity. As entrepreneurs we, of course, love starting new things and get excited about the prospect of new projects. But, as Dean says, that can often lead to us taking our eyes off the primary goal we’re trying to achieve. This actually jibes well with something I said earlier in the episode, about how meditation practice has really helped me focus and hone in on what I really need to be doing. And so for 2018, stay focused, keep it simple, and tell everyone you know about Just the Tips. It’s a clear recipe for success. When Dean and I invited Mike Arce, founder of Loud Rumor, onto the show, we knew were getting a dynamic guest. And when you have a guest like Mike, you never know where the conversation is going to go. As the founder of Loud Rumor and a leader in fitness and wellness marketing, Mike has an incredible story to share about how he got his start, the trials and tribulations of trying to get the company up off the ground while your own family is just starting out, and the key role coaches have played in his success. You’re going to want to hear not only his story but the very practical, actionable tips he provides throughout the interview. Forget the serial entrepreneur, how about the serial employee? Mike’s story is one that a lot of our listeners may relate to, but also one that doesn’t get as much attention. While you’ll hear a lot of entrepreneurs talk about being “serial entrepreneurs,” Mike is actually more of a “focused entrepreneur”: Aside from a small personal trainer business, he’s started one business and grown it and expanded it in super-smart ways. Mike tells us how, before he started Loud Rumor, he worked 22 different jobs, often running sales floors for other companies. But then his wife, incredibly, was let go from two different jobs once her bosses found out she was pregnant. When that happened, he hired her as his first employee, making sales calls from their house. And that was what showed him he had a winning formula. From the “Mac ’n Cheese Diet” to more than 400 clients The work Mike’s wife did for him as someone with no sales experience, landing eight clients in just a couple weeks through cold calls, showed him there was something there. So in 2010, he quit his job and started Loud Rumor, building websites for fitness and wellness companies. Mike tells the story of how for the first few years they ate mostly mac ‘n cheese, had their car repossessed, and generally had a very difficult time growing their business and keeping the family afloat. It was years before he went on a vacation, but ironically, it was being told to go on a vacation that changed his fortunes forever. Find out how on this episode of Just The Tips. How hiring a business coach transformed his business On this episode of Just The Tips, Mike Arce told us about how he was able to find a mentor to help him solve some of his business’s growth problems. One of those suggestions—aside from requiring him to take a vacation and get his mind off work—was to read more. Reading more led to Mike growing as an executive, but it was really when he went one step further and hired a coach that he took off. Mike stresses that although books may seem like an inexpensive way to improve, the ROI on a coach is infinitely greater because he can “implement the next day” what he’s told by his coach. But you can’t just hire a coach and boom: problem solved. It takes a bit more than that, and Mike has great advice for how to get the most out of your coaching experience. Be your business coach’s best client Mike talked about how every time he hires a business coach, he tells him or her the same thing: I’m going to be your best client. He told us how he works openly and closely with his coaches and often ends up in testimonial videos for those coaches on their websites. He also provides very specific, fascinating tips for what he would do if he was starting all over again. You’ll want to hear them. Dean S. Hawkins is a highly decorated Fire Officer & Trainer based in Cairns, Far North Queensland and is the author of the highly successful book Fight Fire with Fire – How to use firefighting techniques to find your purpose, overcome all obstacles and reach your goals. What can a Fire Officer and Trainer teach Small Business Owners about making more? Fire fighting and running a small business are very similar. You need to OUTWORK your doubts, OUTWORK your hesitations and OUTWORK your fears. These three things are your barriers to success, regardless of what you’re doing. When you’re learning to be a fire fighter there’s early starts and late finishes. Does this sound familiar to owning a small business? It’s about doing what is required to be successful. Success is all about preparation. In fire fighting you mitigate what could go wrong, and you take all the necessary training and precautions. You do the same in small business. “The heavy lifting is done prior to the event”. Only after you’ve done all the hard work, can you enjoy the rewards of your efforts, not beforehand. This is what separates people with a wish list and people with a want list. You’ve got to want it. Yoda: - Do, or do not, there is no try. When people say they will TRY it’s already a sign of giving up. When people say they will ‘try and attend an event’, you already know it means they won’t be there. This applies to all areas of life. Take the first few steps If you want to do something, prepare the night before. If you want to go walking get your shoes out and your clothes ready before you go to sleep. By having them ready you’ve got more chance of you doing it. If you actually put your shoes and walking gear on, Dean dares you not to walk. This applies to business: If you say you will TRY and increase profits by 20% it won’t happen. You either will or you won’t, there is no try. Saying I WILL automatically makes you think of all the processes that must happen for this to be a reality. Belief in what you do Personal trainers, Health Practitioners, Fire Fighters, you forfeit the right to not look after yourself. It’s your responsibility. When you wear your trade you take pride in what you do, but it’s not just a visual thing, it’s also how you perform each day. Do you perform to the highest level, or cut corners? Create a Contract for Success by asking yourself: Will you get up earlier to make it happen? Will you go to bed late to make it happen? Will you connect with all the authorities in your space? Will you read as much as you can, and get all the qualifications necessary? Will you stay on that commitment for the necessary amount of time required to make it a reality? Will you pour yourself completely into it for at least 90 days? You can do anything for 90-Days It’s not sustainable to pour yourself into something with a break, but you can do anything for 90-days, which is how long it took Dean to write his book. It’s a similar principle used in the book The 12-Week Year (4 x 90 day periods). Dean admits he’s never had a natural flare for anything, but he’s done well because he can’t be outworked. Working Less is Working Smart We spoke about earning more, now lets talk about working less. It sounds like a contradiction but it’s not, it’s about being smart Stick to a formula that works, but be prepared to make adjustments along the way and be open to new ideas. The more you get in the habit of following a good structure, the easier it is to repeat and get ongoing positive results. It’s like a Standard Operating Procedure. You need to learn to focus on what’s important today. When Dean was faced with a house fire that was the most important thing at that given moment, not the next fire, or anything else, it’s the one right in front of him. In business it’s the most important task that needs to be done next. Not the most exciting or most fun, it’s the most important. Keep your mind open Learn the art of being open to the influence of others, other professions, even if they don’t have the specific answer you’re looking for. You can modify it. You can even learn from a McDonalds ad. Yes they may be selling burgers and fries, but can you use part of their message in your own sales pitch? Look at other industries…see what you can learn – LOOK FOR THE CONNECTIONS ON HOW IT CAN BE APPLIED to your circumstances. If you’re looking for answers the universe will provide them, but if you’re not looking it will also meet those requirement as well. All the answers you’ll ever need in life and business are out there; you’ve just got to put it all together. It’s like huge jigsaw puzzle for life. You’ve got all the pieces to make a picture, but it’s disorganised; however you know what the end product looks like and you know the first few steps. Start with putting the edges together, and then work on the rest. Smart People Good operators are always walking around with a notebook in their hands. They’re ready to learn. They cut things out of magazines and they always go into meetings with an open mind. You can learn something from every person you meet. You need Switch Off Days You need to take time off from your work and really recharge the batteries. Top Up Moments Take 10 – 15 minutes a few times per day to reconnect with the universe. Go for a walk, or play with the dog. You may try to listen to the bird noises amongst the car noises and barking dogs. Stop and feel the breeze on your face. This is all part of having a mental break to top up your energy. You also need to top yourself up with good food, sensible exercise. Daily Routines We’re products of our daily actions and daily thoughts. If a dog barks and you get annoyed, you must ask yourself why? These things happen, so you’ve got to accept it. We are the average of the five people we hang around with the most – Jim Rohn. Dean suggests living by this quote. If you come across an angry person and their full of negative energy, you need to phone someone you know who’s positive to help offset and balance the energy in your day. Deans Mantra: Today I’m going to be EFFECTIVE, EFFICIENT, Safe and fit For Purpose. Can you say the same? When Dean met Dave McKee at a karaoke night hosted by the Communist Party of Canada, he wasn't expecting to find out the provincial leader of the party in Ontario had once studied theology and even spent time with Nicaraguan Christians in base communities. Needless to say, we had to have him on the podcast, and we finally did! We talk about Marxism-Leninism in Canada, how violence and nonviolence factor into the CPC's goals as a revolutionary party, and a bunch of other things we keep circling around on this podcast. We also talk about Dave's history with Christian base communities, materialism and faith, and what Christians can contribute to leftist struggles in North America. If you're a Christian and you're afraid of getting out and organizing, hopefully this conversation gives you a reason to take a leap! And if you're a materialist cranky about Christians, maybe Dave's experiences will help you see another angle on the need for coalitions across theological lines.★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★

Entrepreneurial creativity is one of those things that isn’t right when the two words are split apart - like peanut butter and jelly - like Dean Holland and “beard.” Our guest on this episode is a guy who lives out what it means to be a creative entrepreneur. Brian Burt oozes entrepreneurialism. As the owner of 8 successful businesses he knows a thing or two about building and sustaining companies and on this episode of Just The Tips, Dean and I did our best to squeeze that information out of him. And he didn’t even cry - much. You’ve got to hear this guy’s entrepreneurial stories, they start way back from when he was a kid running a lemonade stand in his neighborhood. This guy was born an entrepreneur. He actually franchised lemonade stands as a kid. Brian Burt is somebody I knew was a great entrepreneur the first time I met him. But I didn’t know HOW great he is until he told us this story: When he was a kid, like a lot of us, he set up a pretty cool lemonade stand, complete with Paula Abdul songs blasting from a boombox. He did so well the first year he decided to franchise his ideas and approach to the kids in his neighborhood and wound up buying a car for his mom. No kidding. This guy was born to build businesses and on this episode, he gives us a peek into the mind of a business-building master. You’ll enjoy this one. He got so good at ranking his auto glass website he was accused of monopolizing Google. When Brian Burt first started his own auto glass business he was doing very well through door to door marketing. Then he heard about the internet and started exploring how he could use it to get even more business. That’s when he discovered how to rank his sites for top page exposure on Google. His competition didn’t like how much business he was getting so they threatened to sue him for monopolizing Google. Can you imagine? This guy’s entrepreneurial creativity knows no bounds, and in this conversation, he reveals how he does it, so be sure you listen. If you want to unleash your entrepreneurial creativity, become a ruthless executer. When Dean asked Brian Burt what he does to be so successful day to day as he runs his 8 businesses (Yes, I said 8) - he said he’s simply learned that his success is not at all about how many great ideas he has, it’s about how many of them he actually takes action on. In his words, you have to become a “ruthless executer” - putting action behind the things that will move your business forward. Of course, you have to learn how to do that with wisdom and effectiveness, but action is typically the missing part for aspiring creatives and entrepreneurs. You can hear how he applies it in Brian’s own words on this episode of Just The Tips. Building a productivity snowball by ignoring Brian Tracy’s advice. What’s a day in the life of a creative entrepreneur like? Brian Burt says he has to start out by getting the smaller things out of the way first. That enables him to create momentum - a productivity snowball is what he calls it - and it carries him on to the bigger, more important things and he’s really able to get important stuff done. That flies in the face of what Brian Tracy wrote in “Eat That Frog” - and he knows it. But he says Tracy's approach simply doesn’t work for him and suspects that many other entrepreneurs are the same way. You can find out why he’s willing to buck conventional business advice and go his own way, and how it’s been so successful for him, on this episode. There are far too many candy-ass 20-somethings with virtually no real-world experience, touting themselves as "lifestyle entrepreneurs," business and life coaches. However, if you want real wisdom you can apply to your life as an entrepreneur, you need to talk to someone who has truly lived and actually built companies, someone like Dean Roberts. When Dean approached me to be a guest on the Go For Launch podcast, I was struck by how rambling and crazy his entrepreneurial journey seemed. At 77, he has enjoyed a wild ride through life so far. Born in 1939, he was expelled from school in 1956...joined the Navy in 1957...and spent the next 40 years having two kids, three wives and building and operating his business called Greenleaf Dollhouses, the world's oldest and largest dollhouse manufacturer (now run by his children, Lisa and Dean Jr.). Dean is the author of I'll Fix My Head Before I'm Dead, an autobiography that reads more like the back of a Dr. Bronner Magic Soap bottle. Join Dean and me as we talk about some of his wilder adventures as an entrepreneur, and his essential philosophies for leading a better life. The four most dog-eared books on his nightstand include: Meditations by Marcus Aurelius Master Game by Robert S. De Ropp Insight Meditation by Joseph Goldstein Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill Two other favorite books of mine that I mention are: The Obstacle Is The Way by Ryan Holiday The Success Principles by Jack Canfield
Sheriff Mills (guest star Kim Rhodes) calls Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) for help investigating multiple murders in her small town. Discovering all four victims belonged to the same church chastity group, Sam and Dean decide to infiltrate by joining the group themselves. When Dean disappears, Sam and Sheriff Mills realize whatever they are hunting has taken Dean too and team up to rescue him. John MacCarthy directed the episode written by Jenny Klein (908).
Dean Smith founded Live To Forgive Ministries in 2007. His mission is to spread the message of forgiveness based on the Word of God and his own personal testimony around the world. He preaches powerful messages about love, grace, and reconciliation. Thousands of people have been inspired to trust God with their unforgiveness and have been set free from its heavy burden based on his appearances in churches, television and on the radio. When Dean was twelve his mother was murdered by his stepdad, Bob. He became a Christian but knew that he was not receiving all that God wanted to bless him with because of the anger and resentment he harbored towards his stepdad. He tried to escape with drugs and alcohol for many years until he discovered that there was no way around God for the relief he needed. In 1999, Dean handed over his unforgiveness and resentment to God and his heart was transformed. Surrendering his bitterness to God began the journey that ultimately lead him across the country to reconcile, bless, love, and help Bob. Dean challenges Christians to stop overlooking the unforgiveness in their lives. His stories bring laughter and tears and encourage people to take the step of faith to release their bitterness and anger to God and trust his healing power. He explains how one step of forgiveness can lead to a lifetime of blessings. www.livetoforgive.com
After a ballerina is found dead from dancing herself to death, Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) look into the case and discover the ballet slippers she wore were cursed. When Dean accidentally touches the shoes the power of the curse starts to take hold of him. John Showalter directed the episode written by Robert Singer & Jenny Klein (#716).
