This week we lost one of the most brilliant and impactful thinkers and instructors in the self-protection community, Dr. William Aprill. William was a member of the Shivworks Collective, and was owner of Aprill Risk Consulting, and was the community’s pre-eminent mental health professional providing us the means to understand ourselves and the criminal mind. William will be deeply missed and will leave a void that will be impossible to fill. Our prayers are with him, his family, the Shivworks Collective and all that are impacted by his loss. William Aprill is a mental health professional with almost 20 years of experience in a wide variety of roles.  His back ground as a Sherrif's Deputy and a Special Deputy to the US Marshall's Service combined with his mental health experience and tenure as an instructor in the combative arts puts William in a Uniqu position to understand the violent criminal's mind and what that means for those that train to lead a safer life.
