The main event involved murder. That's right! On a major WWE pay-per-view, someone was going to die. Why? Who knows! The Undertaker was fighting for the life of Paul Bearer against the Dudley Boyz in a handicap match dubbed The Concrete Crypt match. It was never said that if the Undertaker lost, Paul would be buried in concrete. Paul Heyman simply said that if the Undertaker "didn't do the right thing," Bearer would be buried. W...T...F? Also on this card, Eddie Guerrero puts his WWE Title on the line against JBL in a Texas Bullrope match, the US Title is on the line as John Cena defends against RVD, Booker T, and Rene Dupree, Rey Mysterio faces off with Chavo Guerrero, and much more. In the news, we talk about changes to the WWE writing staff, some major shakeups to future plans for PPVs, FX interested in NWA-TNA, Jeff Hardy popping up in TNA, and much more! Due to a number of injuries and other problems, WWE had to reshuffle their Great American Bash 2006 pay-per-view at the last minute- scheduled matches featuring Mark Henry, Lashley, Great Khali and Super Crazy were unable to happen, and their places taken by other opponents. What this meant in practice was, that the much hyped Punjabi Prison Match would now see Undertaker take on Big Show and Batista battling Mr Kennedy. Also on the show, Rey Mysterio would defend his World Heavyweight Title against King Booker. The Random Wrestling Review is brought to you this week by Old Man and Tinky.
This may be considered a bit of a "sleeper" show. While the card wasn't loaded, it had enough on it to keep you interested and it's on the march to SummerSlam 2007! Due to Edge's injury at this time, he's out and now we get a Triple Threat for the World Title between Batista, Kane, and defending champion...*sigh*...The Great Khali. This is Bobby Lashley's second-to-last WWE appearance for over a decade as he takes on John Cena for the WWE Title. This is one of the final appearances for the Cruiserweight Title for almost a decade as Chavo Guerrero defends it in a Cruiserweight Open (basically a 6-pack challenge). We see the state of women's wrestling in 2007 and it's not good. The legendary Dusty Rhodes steps back into the ring for a Bullrope match against Randy Orton. Also, King Booker is continuing on his kingly reign of terror, demanding Triple H relinquish his title as "King of Kings" and Jerry Lawler stop referring to himself as "The King."ALL PODCAST, SOCIAL MEDIA, & MERCHANDISE LINKS: linktr.ee/MainEventMarksCHECK OUT OUR MERCHANDISE: MainEventMarks.redbubble.com & bonfire.com/store/maineventmarksGET FUELED WITH SHOCKED ENERGY: https://shockedenergy.com/collections/all?sca_ref=1814354.mOXH7RrwKh&sca_source=MainEventMarks (promo code: MainEvent for 10% off)GET AWESOME SPORTS T-SHIRTS: intheclutch.com/MAINEVENT (use code "MAINEVENT" for 10% off)ORDER FROM SWIFT LIFESTYLES: SwiftLifestyles.com, use PROMO CODE: MainEventMarks at checkout for 15% offLISTEN EVERY WEDNESDAY AT 9PM EST: tikilive.com/channel/BURNS

NXT and AEW delivered special shows with NXT offering a TakeOver-esque card for The Great American Bash while AEW Dynamite ran a Road Rager show full of surprises. Host Adam Silverstein breaks down both episodes, beginning with NXT [3:20] where Adam Cole and Kyle O'Reilly put on the match of the week, Hit Row spit straight fire with a unique cypher, the women's tag team title bout with Teagen Nox's return disappointed, and Karrion Kross vs. Johnny Gargano has been set with WWE rumors abound. "The Silver King" then starts his look at AEW Dynamite [26:10] by providing an in-depth perspective on the company before diving into how the shocking debut of Alestier Black exposes WWE's major flaws, "Hangman" Adam Page's title shot with Kenny Omega developing, the future of the Chris Jericho vs. MJF feud, the main event street fight for the tag team titles, and a pleasantly surprising appearance by Dan Lambert, Amanda Nunes and Jorge Masvidal of American Top Team. Some ODD Audio issues here that were mostly cleaned up, but the show DOES sound weird and we apologize for that but we are VERY proud of this show. Welcome to the KLB Great American Bash 2004 Review as we go back to a very dark time in the WWF in a show we taped BEFORE WRESTLEMANIA! We go into the Rise of JBL and his backstage antics and hazing, Eddie Guerrero, the FAILED gimmicks of 2004, a little bit more on the Benoit Dark Side of the Ring, and the WORST ENDING TO ANY PPV EVER.

The year is still 2004 and for some ungodly reason an Albino is facing Bob Holly, Paul Bearer has hired two guys in camo to do his cement work, Booker T is not cool with cultural appropriation for the United States Title and Renee Dupree has his French Tickler mocked by some Italian American guys. Join us as we continue our march through 2004 on our Manic Mondays retro wrestling review. Great American Bash 2004, a PPV made famous for JBL's first foray into the big time, a live kayfabe murder and a large amount of red, white and blue propaganda with bikinis. #GETPLUGGEDIN

This week's "Best of PWTorch Livecast" jumps back 15 years and nearly 25 years to two vintage discussions. The first segment features Mick Foley/Cactus Jack on John Arezzi's radio show, Pro Wrestling Spotlight, on Jan. 22, 1995 discussing the early rise of Paul Heyman's ECW. Then, a special 15 years ago PPV Roundtable Podcast with Wade Keller, Bruce Mitchell, and Pat McNeill discussing the awful 2004 WWE Great American Bash including an early review of John Cena before he was WWE's top star trying to get laughs from gay innuendo.
On this episode of HDTGB comedian Alex Spears returns to join Jake & Zane to discuss WWE’s 1st Make America Great Again Bash. This PPV is very much of it’s time and so is this podcast for that matter. This episode was recorded in 2004 then put in a time capsule to be released 15 years in the future when podcasting existed. So, keep that in mind when Alex, Jake & Zane discuss racism, homophobic rap lyrics and women’s wrestling. All three men are far better versions of themselves in 2019 and so is Billy Gunn for that matter. Holy cow Billy Gunn looks so good in 2019 not so much in 2004.As always for corrections tweet at Jake @manscoutmanning or email him at Jake@SSLShow.com.Make sure you checkout HowDidThisGetBooked.com for more information on the next episode.Available on iTunes, Spotify, Stitcher, Google Play, SoundCloud, YouTube & HowDidThisGetBooked.com
