Sorry for the late episode, (recorded 7/10/12), but its the summer, and vacations happen! Tons of Fallout: New Vegas DLC was on sale (you've played that, right?), but the biggest news was the new Android powered console, Ouya, which has seen amazing success on Kickstarter. Or maybe it was the announcement of Greenlight, a new service on Steam where fans can vote to have their favorite developers or games appear or the service. Tara and Chris do the duo show in this weeks SHFTS and talk turns sower towards SWTOR of all things. This moves on to Kingdoms of Amalur Reckoning and the Mass Effect 3 demo. The latter being somewhat disappointing in terms of gun play. Pinball Arcades also gets a mention as well as the formerly maligned iCade cabinet. In the news we cover stories that seem to relate to Double Fine and its ability to get people to give them money for something they have yet to make.Running time: 01:03:16
Last week was very much a return to the older days of SHFTS, with the founding hosts reprising their roles behind the mic. This week we are ringing in the changes by having a full roster of hosts that have been brought in as new additions to the show. Tara Nelson AKA Terabyt3, Tony Atkins AKA Ghostworld and Mike Barton AKA Radarhead have taken on the reins of SHFTS with aplomb as they share their thoughts on the gaming week past. Their topics meander from the addictive qualities of MMOs to how IONs iCade cabinet does not really measure up as far as Tara is concerned. In terms of the news, Double Fine is celebrating its success with the Kickstarter campaign, David Jaffe leaving Eat Sleep Play, and Blizzard suing Valve over the use of the name DOTA.
