Today we bring back Newton Lilavois to speak on the latest issue of one of my favorite books Crescent City Monsters #5 The Rise of Kingsley. Newton describes this as a prequel into the beginnings of the Overlord in the Monster Realm. Kingsley's Clan of the Grunch's as far as hierarchy in this world, Grunch's aren't respected taking up the same space as Vampires, Banshees, and Witches. Kingsley was different, stepping on the frontlines against enemy forces for the protection of the Order and other clans gaining respect. All the while his thirst for power heightened and the power of Dark Magic from strong spiritual people in New Orleans like Jonas stand in his path.Written by Newton LilavoisArtwork by Gian Carlo Bernal

Things are getting dark this week, as we dive into all things curses: generational curses, cursed objects, theater curses, dark magic and the terrifying possibility that some bad luck might be way more than coincidence. Listener stories reveal families plagued by misfortune, haunted stage disasters, sinister attachments, ghostly protectors, and objects that refuse to stay buried. Stories include: A listener from a long line of witches shares a family curse where nearly every man connected to their bloodline suffers tragic or mysterious deaths. After someone utters the name of the cursed Scottish play, a musical spirals into chaos with wardrobe malfunctions, missed cues, and a near-deadly stage accident. After a violent breakup, a mother and her children experience terrifying paranormal activity, but may have gained justice when a curse placed on them backfires. A grandmother known for house blessings identifies cursed objects, including a chocolate cake and an eerie mask that would not burn. Shamans uncover a curse spanning multiple past lives, with rituals revealing powerful entities that refuse to let go. Watch the video version here. Have ghost stories of your own? Today I'm reviewing The Executioner Prince by Luden Gray—a dark fantasy filled with cursed princes, brutal secrets, and the devastating cost of loyalty.Thorne Shadowfall should have been royalty. Instead, as the third-born prince of Netherhelm, he has become a weapon. Cursed by his father to bear the burden of a crime he never committed, Thorne is forced to carry out executions in secret, each death tightening the King's control over him. Trapped in a cycle of violence and guilt, he has learned to survive by embracing agony—until the cracks in the kingdom begin to widen. With morally gray characters, gothic atmosphere, political intrigue, and a protagonist who is impossible not to sympathize with, The Executioner Prince delivers a compelling blend of dark fantasy and emotional character work.

Copyright ©2026, Weird Darkness.Originally aired: December 06, 2021Weird Darkness moves through four shades of the unexplained in this episode: the unseen voices and strangers that talk people out of crimes and catastrophes, the demon that lived under two sisters' bed in Texas, the 1928 witch-killing that gave a Pennsylvania hollow its name, and the still-contested death of Marilyn Monroe. It opens with a run of first-person accounts pulled from Reddit, each describing the moment something unseen stepped in to stop a crime or a catastrophe. A burglar hiding in the closet of an elderly woman's house watches a ghostly old man pat a departing paramedic on the back, then feels breath on the neck and a voice ordering the intruder out. Middle-schoolers creeping through their darkened school are warned off by a voice none of them claims, and they avoid a library that proved to be wired with a silent alarm and motion detectors. In California, a fourteen-year-old abandons a car-theft job a mile from the pickup, spooked by a rising sense of dread, and later learns the vehicle was bait in a police sting that swept up everyone else sent after it. A pickpocket lifts a wallet clean off a stranger, only for the man — blind, sunglasses raised — to calmly ask for it back. Threaded among them are a blown tire that derails a despairing teenager's suicide plan, church doors that lock the instant two thieves reach for them, and a Hobby Lobby shopper whose five stolen pieces of balsa wood seem to trail straight to a table saw and a flesh-eating MRSA infection. From there the episode turns to a listener named Atreada, who shared a room and a bed with her older sister in SunRay, Texas. For a week the bed shook hard enough to slam against the wall and wake the whole house, blamed each night on two children supposedly roughhousing. On the fourth night a hand rose from the gap between bed and wall as an evil laugh filled the room, and on the last night the sisters aimed a flashlight and saw the thing climb out and bolt — an old man in rags, barefoot, with glowing eyes, talon-like fingers, broken teeth, ears jutting at odd angles, and thin transparent strands hanging from an otherwise bald, corpse-like head.Next comes the true story behind Spring Valley County Park in York County, Pennsylvania, a place once called Hex Hollow. In 1928 a Powwow folk-magic practitioner named John Blymire became convinced he was cursed, and a witch called Nellie Noll — the Marietta River Witch — named Nelson Rehmeyer as the source. To break the hex, Blymire needed a lock of Rehmeyer's hair and his copy of The Long Lost Friend, an 1820 spellbook by John George Hohman. On November 26, 1928, Blymire and two accomplices, John Curry and Wilbert Hess, beat Rehmeyer to death in his home and tried to burn it down; the house refused to burn, which locals took as proof of his power. Blymire and Curry drew life sentences and Hess ten to twenty years, and the surviving hex house opened as a museum in 2007 — its story helping to inspire horror novelist Brian Keene and Shane Free's 2015 documentary on the killing. The episode closes with the death of Marilyn Monroe, found nude and lifeless in her Brentwood home in the early hours of August 5, 1962, a telephone in her hand and empty pill bottles on the nightstand. The official verdict was probable suicide by barbiturate overdose, but Sergeant Jack Clemmons, the first officer on the scene, found no glass or water for swallowing some sixty pills, no vomit, and housekeeper Eunice Murray running laundry while the body lay cooling. Thomas Noguchi's autopsy turned up lethal levels of Nembutal and chloral hydrate in her blood and liver, yet not a trace in her stomach. Witnesses placed Attorney General Robert Kennedy at the house that day and again near 10 p.m., tied to rumors of a red diary detailing her affairs with Robert and President John F. Kennedy and referencing a plot against Castro. A competing account, advanced years later by a Court TV investigation, holds that her psychiatrist Ralph Greenson gave her a chloral hydrate enema to wean her off Nembutal, unaware that her internist Hyman Engelberg was still prescribing it, and that the fatal drug interaction — not the Kennedys, and not her own hand — is what killed her.

In this episode, Dr. K is joined by his wife, Kruti (Mrs. K), for a special Call-In style Q&A to celebrate Mental Health May. Together, they discuss the launch of the new Guide to Love, Sex, and Relationships and take a deep dive into community questions regarding attachment styles, the neurobiology of love, and the practical hurdles of modern "adulting". What to expect in this episode: The Yin and Yang of Partnership: Dr. K and Kruti reveal how their vastly different personalities—extroverted vs. introverted and material vs. spiritual—create a balanced relationship through shared accountability and a similar moral compass. The "Adulting" Burden: A look at why modern life feels so overwhelming and why the amount of responsibility carried by individuals today has "ballooned disproportionately" compared to previous generations. Self-Worth and the Playground Shadow: An analysis of how childhood bullying creates a primitive drive for conflict avoidance that can sabotage adult self-esteem until you learn to "hold your ground". "Dark Magic" vs. "Pink Magic": Why using professional "map-hacking" communication skills (dark magic) can actually backfire in romance, and why new daters should instead embrace "pink magic"—the playfulness and boyish joy of being in someone's presence. The Neurobiology of Love: A technical breakdown of the four-part equation for sustainable love involving passion (dopamine), bonding (oxytocin), comfort (serotonin), and sacrifice. Escaping the "Match Made in Hell": How anxious and avoidant partners can navigate gridlocked conflicts by quantifying their needs on a scale of 1 to 10 and recognizing that their tensions are often a "karma" designed for spiritual growth. The Hybrid Build Advantage: Why being a "jack of all trades" is a major competitive advantage in a late-stage capitalist economy and how "wasted time" on diverse skills often leads to the most successful career paths. Action vs. Outcome: Why the quickest way to suffer in life is to focus on outcomes you cannot control rather than the internal actions that you can. The reprint of The One Ring card for Magic: The Gathering’s crossover with The Hobbit. Veteran artist Donato Giancola accused Wizards of the Coast of reusing and modifying the earlier borderless art by Marta Nael, rather than commissioning a new, original piece from credited artist Dan Frazier. Both Frazier and Wizards of the Coast later confirmed that Nael’s work was unintentionally used as a reference that Frazier painted over. Wizards apologized, acknowledging failures in their internal review process, and promised to update digital versions to credit both artists and ensure Marta Nael is compensated. Did Tom learn some of his less-than-wholesome skills from observing Slughorn? What was the inciting event that made Dumbledore so “fierce” about a no-Horcrux curriculum? And should Horcruxes be a banned topic at Hogwarts? Why was Voldemort willing to risk part of his soul to reopen the Chamber of Secrets? Hallows Happy Dumbledore: with both the Elder Wand and Resurrection Stone in his possession, why didn't Albus ask Harry for his Invisibility Cloak and just dip? When Dumbledore suggests the possibility of a living Horcrux in Nagini, should this not have been MAJOR confirmation that Harry was a Horcrux as well? Why does Harry's capacity for love give him power the Dark Lord knows not? Lynx Line: If Horcruxes were a subscription service, what would their tagline be? KOSMIC! Novelist, comics writer, and historian Stuart Moore joins the podcast to discuss his new book for the Marvel Age of Comics critical series from Bloomsbury and Marvel, Doctor Strange: A Decade of Dark Magic. As the title promises, Moore's book looks at the first ten years of the character - from its start as a supporting feature in Strange Tales from artist Steve Ditko and writer Stan Lee through multiple reimaginings and adjustments in the hands of writers and artists like Roy Thomas, Gene Colan, and Steve Englehart. In this discussion with bookseller Justin Remer, Moore talks about the dialogue Doctor Strange created with the '60s counterculture, the tumultuous publishing history of the title, and his own prior interactions with the late Ditko and Lee. If you stick around, there's some Toxic Avenger talk near the end as well. Pick up a copy of the book at Skylight or order the audiobook version from Libro.fm. Hosted and produced by Justin Remer. Recorded remotely via Zencastr. Opening music: "Optimism (Instrumental)" by Duck the Piano Wire. Closing music: "Rule of 3s (Solemnity Child)" by Elastic No-No Band.

In this episode of the Reading Materials Podcast, we step into Cinder House by Freya Marske and unpack what makes this a genuinely enjoyable Cinderella retelling. We talk about how impressively well-developed the characters are for such a short book, and we dig into a bigger conversation about queerness in publishing — where representation feels authentic, and where it risks being used as a marketing hook.Cozy, clever, and more layered than it first appears, this one gave us plenty to discuss.Episode Timepoints:00:00 - Intro00:15 - Brief Life Updates03:00 - An Introduction to Freya Marske05:15 - Spoiler Warning06:00 - The Blurb06:55 - Our Discussion of 'Cinder House'49:20 - Next Time on Reading Materials50:05 - Outro
We welcome back Stuart Moore to discuss his new Marvel Age of Comics book, Doctor Strange: A Decade of Dark Magic. Stuart explores Doctor Strange's first ten years from his 1963 debut through the early '70s, examining how the Steve Ditko/Stan Lee stories' trippy, philosophical approach influenced 1960s counterculture, and how that counterculture in turn shaped the minds of later creators like Steve Englehart and Frank Brunner. We dive into his research on the East Village location of the Sanctum Sanctorum, the succession of writers and artists including Roy Thomas, Gene Colan, Gardner F. Fox, and Marie Severin who expanded on Ditko's mind-bending concepts, and Strange's evolving roles as mystic, super hero, and leader of the Defenders. This is a Grave Talks CLASSIC EPISODE! What happens when you cross the line between our world and the ones layered beside it? Yousuf Tilly knows — because he lived it. For years, he worked alongside a South African warlock, using white magic to help people facing forces no doctor or counselor could explain. But stepping into that realm means stepping into a reality filled with jinns, spirits, and inter-dimensional beings that don't play by human rules. Yousuf's experiences weren't fantasy. They were dangerous, unpredictable, and often terrifying. He saw what happens when people make bargains they don't understand. He witnessed the consequences of calling on entities that demand payment. And he learned that once certain forces enter your life, it's not easy — or sometimes even possible — to close the door again. In this episode, we explore the hidden world he encountered: the rituals, the supernatural encounters, the creatures that slip through thin places, and the chilling price attached to power. Writer and comics editor Stuart Moore talks about his new book, "Doctor Strange: A Decade of Dark Magic", part of Bloomsbury Academic's new Marvel Age of Comics series featuring deep dives into historical eras, origins, and epic storylines from 85 years of Marvel Comics.
What happens when dark magic, ancient myth, and flawed heroes collide? In Demon's Rise by R. E. Sanders, the stakes soar higher than ever in The Jantakai Saga, proving once again that indie epic fantasy can stand toe-to-toe with the giants of the genre. In this spoiler-lite review, Jim dives deep into why Demon's Rise not only delivers gripping storytelling and richly built worlds, but shows just how much Sanders has leveled up as a fantasy author. From the mysterious powers at play to the character growth and ever-expanding lore, this is one saga you'll want to be following. If you've read A Path of Blades, Tann's Last Stand, or Demon's Tear, you already know this world has depth—and Demon's Rise takes it even further.

[This week, I was given another opportunity to collaborate with my brothers from "Nephilim Death Squad," TopLobsta, and David L Corbo (AKA The Raven). Join us as we descend into darkness if only to shine a light on the sinister machinations of this permanent establishment, seemingly insulated from accountability, relentlessly pursuing the deliberate degredation of society at large.]Are modern “Manchurian Candidates” real? Today we sit down with researcher Austin Picard to dissect MKULTRA, Project Monarch, Operation Gladio, and the media machinery that grooms patsies, manufactures outrage, and accelerates the culture war. We trace how trauma, pharma, and frequencies intersect; why “programmed to patsy” often beats “programmed to kill”; and how the Artichoke documents, LIBOR parent connections, and high-impact events fit the pattern. We also unpack the online dox-and-destroy economy, why reaction is the real payload, and how to build psychological armor against next-gen psyops. If you're into deep dives on mind control, false flags, media ritual, and the tech that turns citizens into signals, this one's stacked. This is a Grave Talks CLASSIC EPISODE! Most friendships end quietly—fading memories, less contact, a slow drift into the past. But sometimes, anger refuses to let go. Sometimes, the ending sparks something far darker than silence. That's what happened when two mothers—once close—fell into a bitter feud. Their sons were best friends, inseparable, until the women's relationship soured. Instead of letting the children remain close, both mothers pulled them apart, forbidding further contact. But one mother wanted more than distance. She wanted revenge. What followed was not petty gossip or cold stares—it was a curse. A demonic hex, cast in anger, meant to punish the other mother for her perceived betrayal. But curses don't always follow neat, expected paths. This one bled beyond its intended target, reaching the innocent—the children. For Tony Ramirez, who was just a little boy at the time, the darkness that followed was unexplainable, terrifying, and unforgettable. Nightmares that felt too real, a sense of being watched, unexplained shadows creeping into the corners of his world. It was as if something had attached itself, something meant for his mother but unwilling to stop at her. Now, as an adult, Tony reflects on the curse that marked his childhood. Was it simply anger magnified by superstition? Or did one mother's decision to dabble in the demonic open a doorway that could not easily be shut? Tony Ramirez shares his story: the story of betrayal, dark intentions, and a curse that forever changed the way he views the paranormal. When a soccer camp brings you to Orlando in July, what's a Disney enthusiast to do? For our returning guest Ryan and his daughter, the answer was clear – make the most of their proximity to Walt Disney World with strategic park visits before and after soccer. What started as a modest Disney side-trip transformed into something extraordinary when he realized they'd be in town for the premiere night of Disney Starlight, Magic Kingdom's breathtaking new nighttime parade. It just proves that Disney magic finds a way to fit into life's schedule – even when soccer takes center stage.----Adventures & Mousecapades is a passion project from Alicea & Nathan Novak - two Seattleites addicted to The Mouse. A magician spins a black top hat to show their audience it's empty. Then, with the wave of a wand and a few magic words, PRESTO: a snow white rabbit pokes its ears over the brim. Compared to sawing a person in half, pulling a rabbit out of a hat is a joyful bit of magic that entertainers have been doing for more than 200 years. But after the applause dies down, one is left wondering: where did the rabbit come from? And where did it go? Today, in honor of the Easter Bunny (who doesn't actually appear in this episode), we're pulling a handful of rabbit stories out of our proverbial hat. But be warned: these are dark tales of disappearing pets, occult eugenicists, and animal sacrifice. The secrets behind some magic tricks are more shocking than others. Featuring Nicole Cardoza, Gwyne Henke, Suzanne Loui, Sally Master, Ana DiMaria, Tanya Singer, and Meg Crane. Produced by Nate Hegyi, Marina Henke, Kate Dario, and Justine Paradis. Chapter 17 - Bathilda's SecretHarry, stop.” “What's wrong?” They had only just reached the grave of the unknown Abbott. “There's someone there. Someone watching us. I can tell. There, over by the bushes.”Q1 - What do you think of the monuments to the Potters? Was it possible that she had been waiting for them all these long months? That Dumbledore had told her to wait, and that Harry would come in the end? Was it not likely that it was she who had moved in the shadows in the graveyard and had followed them to this spot? Even her ability to sense them suggested some Dumbledore-ish power that he had never encountered before. Q2 - What would you have done in this situation? The dust vanished from the photographs, and he saw at once that half a dozen were missing from the largest and most ornate frames. He wondered whether Bathilda or somebody else had removed them. Then the sight of a photograph near the back of the collection caught his eye, and he snatched it up. It was the golden-haired, merry-faced thief, the young man who had perched on Gregorovitch's windowsill, smiling lazily up at Harry out of the silver frame. And it came to Harry instantly where he had seen the boy before: in The Life and Lies of Albus Dumbledore, arm in arm with the teenage Dumbledore, and that must be where all the missing photographs were: in Rita's book. Q3 - Who is this? Then she closed her eyes and several things happened at once: Harry's scar prickled painfully; the Horcrux twitched so that the front of his sweater actually moved; the dark, fetid room dissolved momentarily. He felt a leap of joy and spoke in a high, cold voice: Hold him! Q4 - How chilling is this? And his scream was Harry's scream, his pain was Harry's pain . . . that it could happen here, where it had happened before . . . here, within sight of that house where he had come so close to knowing what it was to die . . . to die. . . . The pain was so terrible . . . ripped from his body. . . . But if he had no body, why did his head hurt so badly; if he was dead, how could he feel so unbearably, didn't pain cease with death, didn't it go . . . He forced the door open, cast aside the chair and boxes hastily piled against it with one lazy wave of his wand . . . and there she stood, the child in her arms. At the sight of him, she dropped her son into the crib behind her and threw her arms wide, as if this would help, as if in shielding him from sight she hoped to be chosen instead. . . . “Not Harry, not Harry, please not Harry!” “Stand aside, you silly girl . . . stand aside, now.” “Not Harry, please no, take me, kill me instead —” “This is my last warning —” “Not Harry! Please . . . have mercy . . . have mercy. . . . Not Harry! Not Harry! Please — I'll do anything —” “Stand aside. Stand aside, girl!” He could have forced her away from the crib, but it seemed more prudent to finish them all. . . .Q5 - Does any of this info give you hints or clues as to what is going on?And then he broke: He was nothing, nothing but pain and terror, and he must hide himself, not here in the rubble of the ruined house, where the child was trapped and screaming, but far away . . . far away. . . . “No,” he moaned. The snake rustled on the filthy, cluttered floor, and he had killed the boy, and yet he was the boy. . . . “No . . .” And now he stood at the broken window of Bathilda's house, immersed in memories of his greatest loss, and at his feet the great snake slithered over broken china and glass. . . . He looked down and saw something . . . something incredible. . . . “No . . .” “Harry, it's all right, you're all right!” He stooped down and picked up the smashed photograph. There he was, the unknown thief, the thief he was seeking. . .Q6 - What is going on here? “You're the one who needs sleep. No offense, but you look terrible. I'm fine. I'll keep watch for a while. Where's my wand?” She did not answer, she merely looked at him. “Where's my wand, Hermione?” She was biting her lip, and tears swam in her eyes. “Harry . . .” “Where's my wand?” She reached down beside the bed and held it out to him. The holly and phoenix wand was nearly severed in two. One fragile strand of phoenix feather kept both pieces hanging together. The wood had splintered apart completely. Harry took it into his hands as though it was a living thing that had suffered a terrible injury. He could not think properly: Everything was a blur of panic and fear. Then he held out the wand to Hermione. “Lumos!” The wand sparked feebly, then went out. Harry pointed it at Hermione. “Expelliarmus!” Hermione's wand gave a little jerk, but did not leave her hand. The feeble attempt at magic was too much for Harry's wand, which split into two again. He stared at it, aghast, unable to take in.Q7 - Do they really stand a chance now?Chapter 18 - The Life and Lies of Albus DumbledoreNever, until this moment, had he felt himself to be fatally weakened, vulnerable, and naked, as though the best part of his magical power had been torn from him.Q1 - Harry has lost the protection of the twin cores…what now?And his fury at Dumbledore broke over him now like lava, scorching him inside, wiping out every other feeling. Out of sheer desperation they had talked themselves into believing that Godric's Hollow held answers, convinced themselves that they were supposed to go back, that it was all part of some secret path laid out for them by Dumbledore; but there was no map, no plan. Dumbledore had left them to grope in the darkness, to wrestle with unknown and undreamed-of terrors, alone and unaided: Nothing was explained, nothing was given freely, they had no sword, and now, Harry had no wand. And he had dropped the photograph of the thief, and it would surely be easy now for Voldemort to find out who he was. . . . Voldemort had all the information now. . . Q2 - Why didn't Dumbledore give them more?Educated at Durmstrang, a school famous even then for its unfortunate tolerance of the Dark Arts, Grindelwald showed himself quite as precociously brilliant as Dumbledore. Rather than channel his abilities into the attainment of awards and prizes, however, Gellert Grindelwald devoted himself to other pursuits. At sixteen years old, even Durmstrang felt it could no longer turn a blind eye to the twisted experiments of Gellert Grindelwald, and he was expelled. Q3 - What did he do to get himself expelled from Durmstrang?Gellert — Your point about Wizard dominance being FOR THE MUGGLES' OWN GOOD — this, I think, is the crucial point. Yes, we have been given power and yes, that power gives us the right to rule, but it also gives us responsibilities over the ruled. We must stress this point, it will be the foundation stone upon which we build. Where we are opposed, as we surely will be, this must be the basis of all our counterarguments. We seize control FOR THE GREATER GOOD. And from this it follows that where we meet resistance, we must use only the force that is necessary and no more. (This was your mistake at Durmstrang! But I do not complain, because if you had not been expelled, we would never have met.) AlbusQ4 - Is Albus really a good wizard? This dreadful coffin-side brawl, known only to those few who attended Ariana Dumbledore's funeral, raises several questions. Why exactly did Aberforth Dumbledore blame Albus for his sister's death? Was it, as “Batty” pretends, a mere effusion of grief? Or could there have been some more concrete reason for his fury? Grindelwald, expelled from Durmstrang for near-fatal attacks upon fellow students, fled the country hours after the girl's death, and Albus (out of shame or fear?) never saw him again, not until forced to do so by the pleas of the Wizarding world. Q5 - Along with all these questions, what do you think Dumbledore saw in the Mirror of Erised?“Harry, I'm sorry, but I think the real reason you're so angry is that Dumbledore never told you any of this himself.” “He loved you,” Hermione whispered. “I know he loved you.” Harry dropped his arms. “I don't know who he loved, Hermione, but it was never me. This isn't love, the mess he's left me in. Q6 - What do we think of Harry and Dumbledore's relationship after this?Chapter 19 - The Silver DoeIt was snowing by the time Hermione took over the watch at midnight. Harry's dreams were confused and disturbing: Nagini wove in and out of them, first through a gigantic, cracked ring, then through a wreath of Christmas roses. He woke repeatedly, panicky, convinced that somebody had called out to him in the distance, imagining that the wind whipping around the tent was footsteps or voices. He had just held up a hand in front of his face to see whether he could make out his fingers when it happened. A bright silver light appeared right ahead of him, moving through the trees. Whatever the source, it was moving soundlessly. The light seemed simply to drift toward him. Q1 - Was Harry dumb to trust this? But instinct, overwhelming instinct, told him that this was not Dark Magic. He set off in pursuit. Q2 - Is Harry's instinct good? His heart skipped into his mouth: He dropped to his knees at the pool's edge and angled the wand so as to flood the bottom of the pool with as much light as possible. A glint of deep red . . . It was a sword with glittering rubies in its hilt. . . . The sword of Gryffindor was lying at the bottom of the forest pool. Q3 - How did the sword get there? Is the Doe and the Sword by the same person? Who?An owl hooted somewhere as he stripped off, and he thought with a pang of Hedwig.Q4 - Was this Hedwig??Every pore of his body screamed in protest: The very air in his lungs seemed to freeze solid as he was submerged to his shoulders in the frozen water. He could hardly breathe; trembling so violently the water lapped over the edges of the pool, he felt for the blade with his numb feet. He only wanted to dive once. Q5 - Ever experienced this kind of cold?“Are — you — mental?” Nothing but the shock of hearing that voice could have given Harry the strength to get up. Shivering violently, he staggered to his feet. There before him stood Ron, fully dressed but drenched to the skin, his hair plastered to his face, the sword of Gryffindor in one hand and the Horcrux dangling from its broken chain in the other….Harry could not answer. The silver doe was nothing, nothing compared with Ron's reappearance; he could not believe it. Q6 - Were you shocked by the return?“I did think I saw something move over there, but I was running to the pool at the time, because you'd gone in and you hadn't come up, so I wasn't going to make a detour to — hey!” Harry was already hurrying to the place Ron had indicated. The two oaks grew close together; there was a gap of only a few inches between the trunks at eye level, an ideal place to see but not be seen.Q7 - Who was it?Ron looked toward him, and Harry thought he saw a trace of scarlet in his eyes. “Ron — ?” The sword flashed, plunged: Harry threw himself out of the way, there was a clang of metal and a long, drawn-out scream.Q8 - What was going on there?“You come back after weeks — weeks — and you think it's all going to be all right if you just say sorry?” “Well, what else can I say?” Ron shouted, and Harry was glad that Ron was fighting back. “Oh, I don't know!” yelled Hermione with awful sarcasm. “Rack your brains, Ron, that should only take a couple of seconds —” Q9 - Is Hermione right to be this mad at Ron?“Yeah,” said Ron. “Could've been worse. Remember those birds she set on me?” “I still haven't ruled it out,” came Hermione's muffled voice from beneath her blankets, but Harry saw Ron smiling slightly as he pulled his maroon pajamas out of his rucksack. Q10 - What do you think of Ron's Dilumenator?Chapter 20 - Xenophilius LovegoodHermione's sulkiness could not mar his buoyant spirits: The sudden upswing in their fortunes, the appearance of the mysterious doe, the recovery of Gryffindor's sword, and above all, Ron's return, made Harry so happy that it was quite difficult to maintain a straight face. “Oh, yeah. Well, it's just a bad habit we've slipped into,” said Harry. “But I haven't got a problem calling him V —” “NO!” roared Ron, causing Harry to jump into the hedge and Hermione (nose buried in a book at the tent entrance) to scowl over at them. “Q1 - What do you think of the tracking of this?Harry did not laugh at Ron, because he understood too well the longing behind the question. The idea that Dumbledore had managed to come back to them, that he was watching over them, would have been inexpressibly comforting. He shook his head. Q2 - Any chance that this Doe could have been Dumbledore?“But don't you think if it was, Dumbledore would have told me about it before he died?” “Maybe . . . maybe it's something you need to find out for yourself,” said Hermione with a faint air of clutching at straws. “Yeah,” said Ron sycophantically, “that makes sense.” “No, it doesn't,” snapped Hermione, “but I still think we ought to talk to Mr. Lovegood. A symbol that links Dumbledore, Grindelwald, and Godric's Hollow? Harry, I'm sure we ought to know about this!” Q3 - Will Hermione and Ron ever reconcile?Q4 - Danny nailed the prediction on Luna not being thereQ5 - What would you have done in Xeno's position? He turned away from the window and his gaze fell upon another peculiar object standing upon the cluttered, curved sideboard: a stone bust of a beautiful but austere-looking witch wearing a most bizarre-looking headdress. Two objects that resembled golden ear trumpets curved out from the sides. A tiny pair of glittering blue wings was stuck to a leather strap that ran over the top of her head, while one of the orange radishes had been stuck to a second strap around her forehead. “Ah, you have spotted my pet invention,” Xeno said, “Modeled, fittingly enough, upon the head of the beautiful Rowena Ravenclaw. ‘Wit beyond measure is man's greatest treasure!' ” Q6 - Danny you paused at this for a bit, why?
