Show Notes On this week's podcast, Dan and Kris board bring you the 2024 SAG State of the Union. How are things going for the major platform holders? Where is the all-important Intellivision brand? What will Microsoft do to solve their ongoing identity crisis? Will Nintendo drop the ball on the Switch's successor? Will Sony learn from past mistakes, or continue with all hubris all the time? Let's discuss! At the top of the show, Dan managed to adopt out a few more puppies without missing a beat in Marvel Snap. He also has a very sore mouth, a trend that seems to be plaguing this podcast these days. Meanwhile, Kris drove himself mad trying to finish his latest Mario history video, enjoyed the wonders of Runner2, and began the review processes on The Jeff Minter Story and Princess Peach: Showtime. In Week Old News, Warner Bros. continues their assault on all things decent by threatening to remove a bunch of Adult Swim games from existence for no good reason, Nintendo wins a court case which makes the internet explode in a thinly veiled onslaught of entitlement, the guys discuss the tragic loss of Akira Toriyama, and more! Show Notes On this week's podcast, Dan and Kris board the SAG Cartoon Express to watch a classic episode of Mega Man. Discover people being turned into bad box art Mega Man, more vacant stares than you can handle, and of course, the immediately recognizable Guts Man's ass! Does this weirdly American take on Mega Man from animation experts Ruby Spears hold up in 2024? Why don't we have robots with microwaves full of burnt potatoes inside them yet? What's the deal with Hard Man? Grab your tickets and board the SAG Cartoon Express to find out! At the top of the show, Dan's dog army continues to make his life difficult, as do his daughters who have been secretly trained to leave wadded up paper towels around his house in an effort to slowly drive him insane. Meanwhile, Kris nearly finished Metal Gear Solid, blew through the wonderful new Vampire Survivors DLC, and jumped for joy over the sheer glory of Runner2 on Switch. In Week Old News, the game industry continues to show the world just how unsustainable it is with another couple of rounds of devastating layoffs, but it's not all bad news as some studios are finding ways to stay alive! People are 3D scanning action figures for preservation, Pokemon Presents finally brings addictive card gaming to mobile phones, and more! Recently, the Boston Athletic Association announced a robust and very impressive professional women's field for 2022. The list of women running the Boston Marathon this April includes many familiar names--- Molly Seidel, Des Linden, Edna Kiplagat, Nell Rojas, Sara Hall, Kellyn Taylor, and Stephanie Bruce---and several super impressive masters women. One of those masters women is Briana Boehmer, who ran a 2:33 recently at the California International Marathon (CIM) at age 43. While Briana has been running for over 25 years, she hit her fastest times this year...in her 40's. Briana accomplished this while working full-time as the Chief Operating Officer of Run the Edge (Adam Goucher's company) and coaching runners and triathletes. Briana shares how she achieved her recent personal record, how she changed her approached to running and training, and why, regardless of our training, we must believe in ourselves to achieve our goals. Follow Briana on Instagram at www.instagram.com/briboehmer and at Runtheedge.com. Reach out to us for coaching at julieandlisa@runfartherandfaster.com. We will not be featuring ads for this season.
