Seany grew up in Ballymun, but while other kids he grew up around him playing sports and having fun, Seany struggled at home and in school which led him down a darker road than his peers. Later in life, after a time spent living on the streets and time spent in and out of juvenile prison, Seany overcame many mental health issues to complete a Degree in health & fitness and in 2020 became an Iron distance triathlete.

Gerry who is a well renowned Speaker, has been a pioneer for ultra endurance in Ireland since completing 32 marathons in 32 days in the 32 counties of Ireland back in 2010.The following year Gerry signed up to an Enduroman event in the UK, a Deca Ironman, thats an Ironman (3.8k swim, 180k bike & 42k run) a day, every day for ten consecutive days. This race was the first of its kind in the UK or Ireland and not only did Gerry complete this massive challenge but he also won the race by more than nineteen hours ahead of the second place finisher. In this weeks episode of the podcast, Ger chats with Omagh woman Leona Carson on how she took on an epic challenge of climbing the height of Everest on her stairs at home! Leona was a heavy smoker 8 years ago but wanted to improve her life so she ditched the fags and started running. Her journey has taken her to The Great Wall of China, Kilimanjaro and was due to take her to Everest this May but due to the coronavirus, those plans are on hold until 2021. Leona's mindset is strong so her stayed positive and took on this huge challenge at home to help sharpen her mental strength.

He knew he needed to change his life before it came to a premature end. Stephen found running and from there he started to find balance, love and gratitude for life!
In this weeks GPP, Ger chats with Irish professional triathlete Ger Redmond who recently finished a week of hell in the mountains of Wicklow where he was asked to complete ridiculous physical challenges, in abysmal conditions, all while ridiculously sleep deprived. But its Ger's backstory that is truly remarkable. As a junior professional footballer, Ger's life was turned around when, through no fault of his own, he was forced to leave his dreams behind to take care of his siblings when he was only 16 years old. From there he his life radically changed and brought Ger to a two year prison sentence. But his journey was not over, like a Phoenix from the flames, Ger did rise again to become a better person for his family and completed the challenge he set for himself in becoming a professional triathlete.
