Tycho - "Time to Run" a 2023 single on Mom + Pop Records It should come as no surprise that our host of The Runcast should choose the track "Time To Run" for today's Song of the Day. Like KEXP DJ John Richards, Scott Hansen — the producer behind long-running electronic project Tycho — is a runner. As he explains in a press statement: “Music has always served as a kind of meditation for me, long before I started creating it. As a competitive runner throughout my early life, I would play back loops of songs in my head to cope with the stress of races, focusing on rhythmic elements to help pace myself and stay calm. There is a unique form of clarity that I have found through the meditative practice of running, it is a fundamentally human experience and when I feel the deepest connection between the mind, body and nature. ‘Time To Run' is my attempt to translate these ideas into music. My goal was to approach the composition from a new angle and let the rhythmic elements take the lead. I cast the melodic elements that have come to define the Tycho sound in a new light by juxtaposing them against a new foundation that takes cues from funk music.” The track gives a tease at Tycho's forthcoming 2024 full-length. Details are scarce, but MusicTech reports that Grizzly Bear's Christopher Taylor will be on board as mix engineer. Thats a wrap! For the Season 2 finale, we think back over the past interviews we've been fortunate to host, and discuss some major trends as well as unique perspectives that we learned from these talks with high level athletes and coaches. We identify what we believe are major keys to success that we look forward to adopting to our own training, competitions, and ultimately, our lives in the upcoming year!
Ryan Jackson is a Canadian Cross-Country Skier, training and racing all over the world. Coming from a competitive sport background outside of running, he offers a very unique perspective on the elite athlete life. He shares his valuable experiences moving to Norway to learn from the World's best, going from peak fitness to spending months in a wheelchair and on crutches, learning who you are outside of sport, and betting on yourself to aim for a spot in the 2022 Olympic Games.
UTTC middle-distance and cross-country coach Terry Radchenko joins us on the podcast today. Over the past 2 decades of his career, Terry has coached numerous athletes to national teams, pro teams, and international competitions including the Olympic Games. He has helped his athletes achieve many individual and team OFSAA, OUA, USPORT, and National medals. During our discussion, we cover how growth occurs over a coaching career, coaching at the development versus the elite level, and of course workouts on workouts on workouts!
Today's episode features a guest interview with Ethan Davenport, a teacher by day and a competitive track and field athlete and coach by night. Ethan has trained and competed as a Varsity Blue, earning a top 5 finish at Outdoor Canadian Nationals. Sporting personal bests of 3:46 in the 1500m and 1:50 in the 800m, Ethan is also an excellent coach with the UTTC. Listen as we discuss training, life after sport, and the challenges of being a young coach.
Happy 2021! And welcome back to the show. With the new year comes new goals, and so we are launching the second half of Season 2 by discussing the mindset of goal setting. Mostly touching on personal and practical experience working as and with athletes, we discuss different characteristics and states that are conducive to creating effective goals for the upcoming training block, season, or year.

Men du tager fejl.

Boston, London, Berlin, Chicago, New York og Tokyo.
Men ofte ganske uforpligtende.
Have a lovely time with 4 Feet Running's 4th video podcast! This special video was made with an extra little pinch of love for Runcast.tv's February "In Love With Running" event! This week:- Nik and Dan venture to the City of Brotherly Love, Philadelphia, to talk about their relationships with running- It's a complicated relationship for Nik- It's also complicated for Dan, and sometimes it hurts(3.2.09)
After weeks of trying to edit this video on my PC and using several programs I finally got it done. Actually my youngest Son got a new Mac for college graduation and his birthday so I inherited his old Mac. Clearly the Mac's are better for video editing and even though it's about 4 years old it worked MUCH better than Movie Maker and my PC! And so I bring you episode 3 of Run New England! Today we talk about why I love running as suggested by Phil Moneypenny of Runcast.tv, a great website for running videos. The original intent was to post this in Feb during the Valentine season. If you look close you can even see Chris Russell's cape house in this video! It's near the end so stay tuned! Let me know what you think and where you'd like to see me run in New England! Contact me at RunNewEngland@Gmail.com and thank you for joining me on Run New England!John From the Poi
