Tune in to Part 3 of the Pursue HER Live series episode replay. In my opinion, the church didn't teach me how to deal with my sinful nature. Preachers told me what not to do and why I shouldn't do it, but not how. Rather than addressing the root issue in my heart, I learned to suppress sinful desires. One thing the church indirectly taught me was how to hide my sin. Here is why: I've witnessed the church lovingly embrace the testimony of a person who freely sinned and later gave their life to Christ. Rightfully so. Yet, if someone who has been saved for a while shares their struggle or an area of their flesh they need help with, instead of being met with forgiveness, accountability, support, and help, all wrapped in love, they are met with condemnation, criticism, told not to share it and everything else in between. Because of the latter, there aren't enough people who are honest enough to share their testimony of deliverance, and there are believers who spend more time on behavior modification than a true heart transformation. In order to live boldly as daughters of God, we all need to confront, confess, and repent of sinful desires and actions. I want to explore this topic in a safe, judgment-free space, so join me on YouTube live as we discuss this aspect of being resilient as a daughter of God.
Tune in to Part 2 of the Pursue HER Live Series episodes. I admit that I like to control things in my life, but I've learned that certain things are beyond our control as daughters of God. Our job is not to control our lives but to allow God to be in control. Let's be honest with ourselves: I have noticed that we tend to exert energy to try to control the things we cannot. All this does is increase our stress levels, which is not how we are to live. If we go to God for direction, He gives clear instructions and empowers us. So, when I find myself starting to stress I ask myself, “Can I control this situation,” and then I remind myself of the aspects of life that I can control: 1. How I respond to life circumstances. 2. My emotional stability. 3. My ability to hear God's voice. 4. My responsiveness to God's Instructions. Being intentional in this area has helped lower my stress levels tremendously and I feel empowered! So for my women who can admit they like to be in control at times, and we can work on this together, join me this Thursday at 8:30 pm as I teach you and break down four areas of life you can control and help you eliminate stress. Understanding this concept will change your life! --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/kelley-bell7/support
