We pull back the curtain on what actually changes during perimenopause and menopause, why “I don't feel like myself” is a valid signal, and how to turn overwhelm into a grounded, practical plan you can start today.Get your copy of Awakening in Midlife Today. We begin with a candid look at sleep, the hidden driver that shapes anxiety, pain, and focus. You'll hear a striking patient story that shows how decades of poor sleep can ripple into later health, and you'll get simple, evidence‑informed routines to protect circadian rhythm: cutting blue light at night, seeking bright morning light, creating a consistent wind‑down, and building protein‑forward, fiber‑rich breakfasts that stabilize energy and hormones. We connect these habits to nervous system regulation, sharing quick breath practices that fit inside a busy day. From there, we move into mental health and identity. Hormone fluctuations influence serotonin and GABA, which can intensify irritability, low mood, or brain fog—especially if you live with depression, anxiety, or bipolar disorder. We talk therapy tune‑ups, medication reviews, and boundary setting that respects recovery. Then we tackle stubborn myths: that it's all in your head, that normal labs mean nothing is wrong, that weight gain is laziness, or that you just have to endure. You'll learn a three‑layer model—body, emotion, identity—to map what's changing and choose next steps with clarity. If you're navigating hot flashes, sleep disruption, mood swings, or a shifting sense of self, this conversation offers compassionate guidance and actionable tools. Let's stop sugarcoating the dumpster fire that is modern dating. We've reached the 2026 tipping point where dating apps have morphed into a toxic mix of LinkedIn for narcissists and Instagram-lite. The "spreadsheet era" isn't a hack; it's a desperate attempt to organize the chaos created by a culture that values status over soul. The biggest culprit? The rise of the "Extended Influencer Profile." Ladies, it's time for a reality check: when your profile is a curated gallery of high-end dinners, filtered vacations, and "main character" poses, you aren't signaling "high value"—you're signaling that you're out of touch with reality. These profiles don't attract "good men" or providers; they attract predators, status-seekers, and clout-chasers. By presenting a life that looks like a luxury brand, you are inviting men who treat dating as a transactional acquisition. You're being scouted, not pursued. The result? You end up with toxic, superficial dates who only care about how you look on their feed. Meanwhile, authentic, grounded men—the ones actually capable of a real relationship—look at those polished facades and swipe left. They aren't "intimidated"; they're bored. They see the "out of reach" aesthetic and realize there's no room for a human being in that meticulously staged life. The only way out of this algorithmic loneliness is Brutal Honesty. It's time to burn the influencer script. If your profile looks like a photoshoot for a brand deal you don't actually have, you're part of the problem. * Stop treating dating like a status upgrade. High-quality men are looking for a partner, not a project or a trophy with a high maintenance cost. The "Hot Trend" of bluntness is catching on because people are starving for something real. Being "brutally honest" about your flaws, your actual life, and what you really want is the only way to filter out the predators who thrive on the fake.Gen Z is already quitting the apps in 2026 because they've realized that "clout-chasing" leads to a cold bed. If you want to find a man who actually gives a damn about you, you have to show up as a person, not a persona. Stop trying to be a digital fantasy and start being a real-life human. The "influencer" era of dating is a dead end—it's time to get blunt or get used to being alone.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/depraved-and-debaucherous--5267208/support.Contact KOP for professional podcast production, imaging, and web design services at http://www.kingofpodcasts.comSupport KOP by subscribing to his YouTube channel and search for King Of PodcastsFollow KOP on X and TikTok @kingofpodcasts (F Meta!)Listen to KOP's other programs, Podcasters Row… and the Wrestling is Real Wrestling Podcast and The Broadcasters Podcast.Buy KOP a Coffee https://buymeacoffee.com/kingofpodcastsDrop KOP a PayPal https://www.paypal.com/donate?hosted_button_id=3TAB983ZQPNVLDrop KOP a Venmo https://account.venmo.com/u/kingofpodcastsDrop KOP a CashApp https://cash.app/$kingofallpodcastsThis episode is sponsored by FirmTech—performance rings built for comfort, control, and confidence.Head to myfirmtech.com and use code KING for 15% off.

Patricia Anne Simpson joins Jana Byars to talk about Early Modern Women's Work: Kinship, Community, and Social Justice (Routledge, 2025). The book examines the contributions of female writers, artists, scientists, religious leaders, and patrons who engaged in entrepreneurial, intellectual, and emotional labor in German-speaking Europe. Through individual and collective authorship, the women analyzed in this study assert a claim to kinship and community, often beyond the hegemonic, heteronormative relationships to family, religion, and monarch. The contributions of early modern women to the construction of productive work spaces and the establishment of intellectual and actual communities are often overlooked or underestimated in scholarship on this period. This book serves as a cultural corrective to suppositions of gender-coded work, because alongside the dominant history of the private sphere as a feminine domain, a counter-narrative emerges with collective authorship. Despite the disparities in their biographies, the women whose work Simpson foregrounds highlight a range of early modern concerns, primarily but not exclusively in German-speaking Europe. These include debates about women's education and erudition; migration and displacement in search of religious or professional freedom; a persistent but varied discourse about female authorship and creative agency; and the assertion of subjectivity against the violent, fractious history of the Thirty Years' War and beyond. This book will be an ideal resource for students, scholars, and all those interested in German and European studies, women and gender studies, and the history of early modern work. Send us a textIn this episode of The So Be It Podcast, Dr Amen Kaur explores how modern women can build confidence without burnout through nervous-system science and self-mastery.What if the exhaustion you're carrying isn't burnout, but biology doing its best to keep you safe? We trace how history shaped a survival reflex that ties safety to approval and why that reflex still shows up as people pleasing, perfectionism, and self-silencing in high-stakes rooms. Drawing from epigenetics, neuroception, and practical nervous system science, we break down what happens when the amygdala takes over, why language disappears at the moment you most need it, and how to turn awareness into lasting change without white-knuckling your way through.Together, we unpack the difference between hustle-fueled productivity and presence-driven progress. You'll learn how to spot survival strategies masquerading as strengths, and how to replace them with regulated action...small, calm steps that compound into confidence and self-trust. Are you tired of feeling burned out, overwhelmed, and never “good enough”? In this episode of Masks Off for People Pleasers and Perfectionists, host Kim Gross dives deep into the mental prison of perfectionism — the exhausting cycle that keeps women, especially those in their 20s, chasing impossible standards.
Using artworks by Berthe Morisot, Édouard Manet, Claude Monet, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, and others, The Art of Parisian Chic: Modern Women and Modern Artists in Impressionist Paris (Bloomsbury, 2025) by Dr. Justine De Young explores how women and artists in Impressionist Paris (1855-1885) crafted their public images to exploit and resist stereotypes.French societal expectations and beauty ideals shaped how women were seen and how they chose to present themselves in public – whether on the street, in a photograph, or in a portrait on the walls of the annual Paris Salon. On Paris's broad new boulevards and in its public parks and theaters, women dressed to impress anonymous strangers as well as their friends. They even circulated aspirational photographs of themselves. Looking at a rich array of visual sources – from portraits to modern-life paintings, and from photographs to fashion plates – Dr. De Young reveals how women were seen, how they aspired to be seen, and how they navigated public life in Second Empire and Belle Époque Paris. This book considers how fashionable feminine “types” made famous in books, caricatures, and paintings created a visual lexicon and stylistic guide for women. Men and women alike relied on these types – cocotte (mistress), jeune veuve (young widow), amazone (independent equestrienne), demoiselle de magasin (shopgirl), and Parisienne (chic Parisian woman) – to judge the class, character, morality, and worth of strangers. With a rich set of illustrations from the Impressionist canon and beyond, The Art of Parisian Chic shows how modern women used fashion and these stereotypes to construct and reinvent their identities. This interview was conducted by Dr. Miranda Melcher whose book focuses on post-conflict military integration, understanding treaty negotiation and implementation in civil war contexts, with qualitative analysis of the Angolan and Mozambican civil wars. Friday Night Live 14 March 2025In this episode, I examine the complexities of modern relationships, focusing on societal expectations and shifting gender dynamics. I discuss young men's trends of prioritizing video games over dating, and how this reflects changing norms for women. The conversation critiques women's attitudes toward feminist privileges, linking them to rising dissatisfaction and declining birth rates in progressive societies. I explore the psychological pressures affecting intergender relationships and suggest that true fulfillment may arise from self-sacrifice and gratitude, encouraging listeners to reflect on connection in today's digital age.GET MY NEW BOOK 'PEACEFUL PARENTING', THE INTERACTIVE PEACEFUL PARENTING AI, AND THE FULL AUDIOBOOK!https://peacefulparenting.com/Join the PREMIUM philosophy community on the web for free!Subscribers get 12 HOURS on the "Truth About the French Revolution," multiple interactive multi-lingual philosophy AIs trained on thousands of hours of my material - as well as AIs for Real-Time Relationships, Bitcoin, Peaceful Parenting, and Call-In Shows! You also receive private livestreams, HUNDREDS of exclusive premium shows, early release podcasts, the 22 Part History of Philosophers series and much more!See you soon!https://freedomain.locals.com/support/promo/UPB2025
