A lot of the time, the answers to the struggles that we go through as human beings lie in love. When we don't love ourselves, we won't be able to find love elsewhere, nor will we be able to find the confidence to live our lives to their full capacity. Zachary Levi, best known for his lead roles in Chuck and Shazam, learned this lesson the hard way. During today's episode, Zach paints a picture of his turbulent childhood which led to adulthood plagued with mental health struggles, culminating in a rock-bottom moment where he almost took his own life. As Zach's story demonstrates, radical self-love can take one out of even the darkest of spaces and into the light!

** From Nick's website | Linked below** I am a transformational life coach, entrepreneur, father and former US Army Ranger. My mission is to empower you to live your life as an adventure - with peace, passion and intention. I do this by helping you embrace uncertainty and envision the life you want to live (your adventure). I guide you through first steps and hold you accountable for taking action. In addition to coaching sessions by phone and in person, I take you out in the wilderness for "adventure coaching sessions" to get you out of your head and into your heart. I listen, reflect, and support you to grow. I celebrate your successes and push you to be brave, go farther, and we do it together. Throughout this bold and adventurous life, I have won and lost. I have played with the fear of the deep unknown. I have tasted the sweet victory resulting from dedicated effort and hard work. I have felt the pain of trying to control things beyond my control. As a recovering “control addict” and former corporate employee (asleep at the wheel of my life), I have felt the struggle of living disconnectedly – void of true purpose – a vassal to the grind and societal expectations. I've been stuck in the preservation zone, playing safe and playing small. I got unstuck when a life coach, and friend, asked me one pivotal question. It was the question that cut deep and shook me to the core. It shook me awake - wide awake. I grabbed the wheel, and redirected my course towards passion and purpose. I chose to live with intention and explore the possibilities of my most adventurous life. With critical guidance from my coach – I now live my adventure. It's my turn to help you live yours! https://www.nickdevlincoaching.com/

Merel Kriegsman is the CEO and founder of her own company which helps women achieve their full wealth potential by marketing their most valuable gifts. She has helped countless women become successful entrepreneurs by assisting them with selling premium offers and programs. Merel began her career as an opera singer and then started her own business as a conversion copywriter which quickly grew into a business mentorship program. As she fought to maintain her expanding career, raise her children, be the main earner for her family, and confront blindspots in her worldview, Merel began to succumb to burnout. She shares how she got herself through burnout, adopted an abundance mindset, and learned how to listen for signs from her nervous system. Tune into this episode to learn more.  “It became sort of like this perfect storm of postpartum, mental health fragility, plus sort of questioning everything about myself and my business and it just created this perfect storm where I stopped sleeping,” shares Merel Kriegsman when asked about her burnout experience. Merel realized that when her mental health slipped, her boundaries did as well, because she no longer had the energy to maintain them. She found her way out by learning to listen to signals in her body that were trying to tell her when someone or some situation was making her uncomfortable. At first it can be difficult to walk away from clients who are violating boundaries, because of the fear that there won't be new clients to replace them. To counter this, Merel chose to take on an abundance mindset, realizing that as an entrepreneur she would get to actually create those opportunities for herself. She found moments of healing in taking some time to herself to rest, read erotica, and reset her boundaries.  Tune into today's episode of FRIED. The Burnout Podcast for a conversation with Merel Kriegsman about boundaries, mental health, erotic fiction, and recognizing our most valuable work for what it is. Learn how to adopt an abundance mindset, to discover your zone of genius, and to give yourself permission to be a little bit less of a perfectionist.  Quotes · “It became sort of like this perfect storm of postpartum, mental health fragility, plus sort of questioning everything about myself and my business and it just created this perfect storm where I stopped sleeping.” (6:47-7:06 | Merel) · “I honestly feel I go through the seven year cycles where I just need to go into my shell and mass consume what probably would be described by most people as fresh and smut, and then I come out. And I mean, in the last seven year cycle, I put three children on this earth and I built a multimillion dollar business from scratch, and changed literally 1000s of lives and moved to a different continent. (20:34-21:11 Merel)  · “Last time I went through this, I also thought about what was wrong with me and if I were to ever come out of this, and I did. And then it's almost like I have so much fuel to just go.” (22:51-23:03 | Merel) · “Whenever I don't know something, I just study the shit out of it.” (25:48-25:51 Merel) · “We tend to undervalue what is actually our most valuable work. And those tend to be huge blind spots for us. So we often build offers around the things that are maybe in our zone of excellence, but not in our zone of genius, because we're not even seeing what's in that zone of genius, because we take it for granted.” (36:03-36:27 | Merel) Links Connect with Merel Kriegsman: www.merelkriegsman.com https://www.instagram.com/merelkriegsman/ https://www.linkedin.com/in/merelkriegsman/ https://merelkriegsman.com/how-to-raise-your-rates XOXO, C If you know that it's time to actually DO something about the burnout cycle you've been in for too long - book your free consult today: bit.ly/callcait https://friedtheburnoutpodcast.com/quiz Podcast production and show notes provided by HiveCast.fm Learn more about your ad choices. Postpartum psychosis occurs in 1 to 2 per thousand births and involves extreme conditions such as hallucinations, intrusive thoughts, paranoia, suspiciousness, hyperactivity and inability to sleep. Today, Christa Ardelean joins us to share her powerful story of suffering with postpartum psychosis. Her story begins with a difficult pregnancy and birth, which, unbeknownst to Christa, included numerous risk factors associated with perinatal mood disorders. When Christa's son was born, she didn't want to hold him.  Shortly after, she woke up one morning and said to herself, "My baby would be so much better off if he were dead or if I were."  Terrified, she found 24/7 support for the next six weeks while she suffered with hallucinations, intrusive thoughts, and an inability to bond with her baby. With continuous support, medication, and journaling, in time, she completely overcame these feelings. By nine months, she felt like her own person again and now reflects on how her deep love for her son saved her life. If you are suffering from postpartum psychosis, you can can get help now. Family honor.  Does your family name bring you joy? For some it brings shame, and a deep desire to restore that honor.  Jerry Dugan shares his story and journey to bring honor to his family name.   At 14, in his mind, his family name stood for trouble, heartbreak, bullying, racial microaggressions  and  brokenness.   He had already been through so much in his young  life. And this environment took a huge toll.Jerry shares with us the life-changing  prayers and  loving God that lead him to a new family honor, and helped him to change the generational patterns that informed his childhood. I disguised the wording just enough so it didn't freak my wife out when she read it, but it was there. Everything I wanted to say to her was in that letter.  I folded it, and I mailed it that night.
