And Peter answered Him and said, 'Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.' So He said, 'Come.' And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus." — Matthew 14:25, 28-29 The Storm is Not a Mistake Jesus made His disciples get into the boat and go ahead of Him while He dismissed the crowd (v. 22). They weren't caught in a storm by accident; they were sent straight into the wind by obedience. Just because you are facing a massive storm doesn't mean you are out of the will of God. Sometimes, the path to your next level of faith requires going straight through contrary winds. God uses the storm to break your reliance on human comfort and push you toward a supernatural encounter.

"Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword." Matthew 10:34 (NKJV) Cultural Peace? Most people enter Christianity looking for a life free from conflict, pressure, or difficult choices. They want a "peace" that is defined by the absence of trouble. Jesus exposes the truth: Following Him is not a path to human comfort; it is a path to radical realignment. If your version of the Gospel is "peaceful" with the world's systems, your own fleshly desires, and religious traditions, you are likely not following the Jesus of the Bible. Christianity is not about your personal comfort; but total allegiance to Him. The "sword" is the Truth of God's Word. When that Truth enters a life, it creates an unavoidable division between the old man and the new man, and between the Kingdom of Light and the kingdom of darkness. You cannot have both. You cannot be yoked to the world and yoked to Christ at the same time. The sword is designed to cut away the idols, the compromises, and the soulish attachments that are hindering your walk with Him. Jesus explains that this "division" will even affect the closest human relationships. This is not because Jesus hates families, but because He requires Supremacy. If your primary loyalty is to a person, a tradition, or a political agenda rather than the King, you are not fit for the Kingdom. "All things have been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father. Nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and the one to whom the Son wills to reveal Him." Matthew 11:27 (NKJV) This is a legal declaration of the Father to the Son. Jesus is not acting on His own; He is operating under the full, delegated authority of the Godhead. You cannot operate in Kingdom Authority (Luke 10:19) if you do not understand Who gave you the authority. Jesus won the right to give us power because He walked in total submission to the Father. When you operate in His name, you are backed by the full weight of the Father's sovereign power. Every chain you break, you break with the Father's permission and the Son's power. "No one knows the Son except the Father. Nor does anyone know the Father except the Son..." This speaks to the absolute, exclusive intimacy between the Father and the Son. Ministry is not a job; it is a relationship with the Father. You cannot "know" God through theology books or academic study alone. You only know the Father through the Son. If you want to move in the miraculous, you must move from knowing about God to knowing Him in the secret place of intimacy. The measure of your authority in the world is directly tied to the measure of your intimacy with Him in the closet. "...and the one to whom the Son wills to reveal Him." This implies that the Father is not "hidden" from the world, but He is revealed by the Son to those who are hungry for Him. God is looking for those who are willing to be "revealed to." The reason so many remain in stagnation is that they are too full of their own self-knowledge to receive the Father's revelation. Authority is not something we seize, claim, or declare independently; it is released through a mature, intentional, and ongoing surrender of our will to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. The discussion emphasizes that true submission is not passive or coerced but aggressive—a deliberate choosing of obedience, accountability, and alignment with God's order. I believe in order for us to walk in our authority we have to know who we are in Christ. Our identity is the key foundation of kingdom authority. After we know who we are in Christ then we have to accept and acknowledge that God has already given us the permission needed to exercise that authority.
