Each episode, we dive into all things frustrating, weird, confusing, and even great about the odd world of retail pharmacy. For those dishing out drugs to the general public and wondering "What Am I Doing Here?", it's time you know... you're not alone.
pharmacists, technician, validation, nice to know, patients, memories, situations, alone, worked, perfectly, negative, relatable, brilliant, great content, laughing, loud, totally, guy.
Listeners of ReTell Pharmacy that love the show mention: mitch tells, thank you mitch,Alright, so this episode would've dropped sooner if my power didn't go out... I promise. But we did it! It's a great time this week, thanks to YOU. On today's show we get into my confusion of how life was before air conditioning and I make yet another case for having a bouncer at every pharmacy. Also, vaccines for ages 6 months and up are coming so... yay? Finally, we all have patients come up or call right before closing which stops us during our "pharmacy scramble". Enjoy! Thank you, ReTellers, for your support, rates/reviews, sharing the show with co-workers and friends, and so much more. We're rapidly approaching 200 episodes and I'm blown away by you guys. Happy almost-middle of June, ReTellers! That's not really a thing, but hey, we made it this far in 2022 and that's worth some recognition. It's such a blast this week (duh) bc you guys brought the goods. We talk how pts are STILL ASKING FOR FLU SHOTS. WHYYYYY. Also, I'm way too excited to announce having 2 new interns and that crazy phenomenon when a patient calls with several questions and 5 minutes later you hear a co-worker having the SAME conversation with them... answering the same questions. Let's see, what else... oh, there's a new covid vaccine coming (yay?) and "Use As Directed" has to go. Right? Right. We end with one of my favorite topics: food. I feel like all is well again, you know? At least for now :) It just feels good to record earlier in the week and get the episode out at it's usual time. Anywho, this week is a blast (duh) and it's all thanks to YOU. We get into so so much including: my secret desire to meet the man behind the voice greeting of CVS, how many covid shots we've given up to this point (spoiler: A LOT) and nasal covid vaccines... they're in the works. We also talk about the huge mistake of mixing/reconstituting anything unless the pt is PRESENT at the pharmacy, vaccine darts, and, finally, the feeling of hearing your pharmacy phone ring about 7 seconds after you open. Enjoy! Want to submit something for the show? You should! This is an interactive podscast and I quite LITERALLY can't do this show without hearing from you and all that's happening in your pharmacy. Hey guys. Whew, what a weird week. Hence, the EXTREMELY late episode post. I almost didn't record this week but I'm so so glad I did bc hanging with you all is such a good time. Although I (and prob many of you) had a mentally heavy week, we still try and have a little fun by my ability (or inability) to accept constructive criticism and discussing the latest medical trend: Monkeypox. We end with a patient of the week who gets some... questionable advice from his "healer". Enjoy! - M Connect with me and the show through Twitter and Facebook! Phew... welp, someone couldn't record until the last second and released this episode way later than usual... and that person is me. Either way, it's always a great time and this episode is certainly no exception. We get into my hypocritical feelings of being on hold with another pharmacy, pediatric covid boosters being approved, and some facts on insulin storage. Last, but not least, we discuss how we handle what often feels like a gray area in our jobs: HIPAA. Enjoy! Hey ReTellers, wanna know something? You rock my face off. That's right. Happy Mental Health Awareness Month! It only took me like 2 weeks to figure that out. Oh and this is also dropping on Friday the 13th (*cue scream*) This week on the show we talk about how different/weird weekends can be vs working during the week. Also, it only took 3 and a half years, but Batman and Robin finally make it into one of our segments. I talk how terrified I am of the fall this year and, finally, a pretty annoying pharmacist of the week. Enjoy! Connect with the show through Facebook and Twitter! Not on the socials? No problem. As usual, it's been a WEEK, amirite?? Don't worry, you're not alone. Such a great time this week and we cover so much!... Including: pts who have a problem 100% of the time, Paxlovid's bad press, and not ONE but TWO pharmacists of the week! Wait, what?? That's a thing?? It is now :) (there's even a nurse of the week in there somewhere) Finally, we talk the patients that come 15 to 30 min before closing... they always have an issue, and we'll never know why. Enjoy. Have something you want to talk about? I'd love to hear it! Any and all submissions can be sent via DM through Twitter and Facebook, or email the show: contact@retellpharmacy.com Thank you all so much for your love and support! - M Don't forget to check out Pen Needle Ultiguard Safe Pack to see how you can make true, positive change possible for your patients! Hey hey you beautiful ReTellers. First of all, we made it through April... so that's awesome. This week on the show I vent about my issues with Drugdle and talk on some things that may or may not determine if you loan medication to a pt. In #coronacheck, I get a little too happy over a covid+flu combo vaccine in the works. Finally, some of the funniest patients of the week sent in by YOU. Enjoy. Thank you all again so much for your submissions, feedback, rates/reviews, and sharing the show with friends/colleagues. Don't worry pharmacy folks, I warmed up the vocal cords for this one. That's right, I'm back to feeling 100% after that sickness and ready to rage-read all of your blood-boiling submissions... ok they're not all stressful *ahem* we do get positive on the show as well, obviously. This week: all the hats we wear at work ranging from life-saving vaccinations to fixing broken fax machines. Also, how often do you wash your white coat? Be honest. And does your state have mandatory counseling? If so, I feel your pain my friends. We end with a little bit of keep-this-on-your-radar covid shot news and, finally, sometimes you have to show a patient a little proof/evidence that they're yelling at the wrong person. Enjoy. -M Guess what? I want to hear from YOU. ReTellers! We got a good one for you this week. Everything from my near-death experience (turns out it was just a sinus infection) to a tech and TWO pharmacists of the week. I'm particularly excited for this show because we introduce a shiny new segment! Finally, we're seeing more and more rx pickups by Uber or Uber-type services... what're your thoughts? There's just so much this week, I honestly had a difficult time coming up with the title lol. Once again, the ReTell Community (a.k.a... YOU) brought the goods this week. It's such a fun time. First and foremost, we give a huge shoutout to all the new listeners of the show :) Welcome! Let's see, what else... oh we talk high maintenance pts, how we should really all be wearing white coats (techs included) and a certain type of response I hate. There's an entire STAFF Of The Week so you don't want to miss that and no ReTell episode is now complete without talking a litte covid vaccine news. Finally... payroll cuts. You dealing with them? Yeah, me too. You're not alone, friends. Enjoy! -M Don't forget to check in with me through Twitter and Facebook for any respones, patients of the week, etc. Thank you all for your continual support! Back from vaca! Feeling good, you guys. I mean, I was until we found out about 2nd boosters, right?? Trust me, we cover that and so much more on the show. A lot of fun this week including talking about often needing a vaca buffer day (but not this time!), my obsession with Saved By The Bell, and *sigh* 2nd boosters being approved. Look, I take full responsibility for this, okay? I do. My apologies. Also, we talk METRICS.(aka playing "Whack-A-Mole") This is triggering in itself but can we pleeease get a compliment sandwich from corporate sometimes? Enjoy, friends. -M You're all the best, have I told you that? Ok maybe like a few hundred times, but it's true. I really, truly appreciate all of your love and support. Okay, this actually may be the longest episode in ReTell history... and I didn't even have a guest on. That just shows you 1) how much I needed to vent and 2) how you guys brought the GOODS this week with your submissions. We get into PTO, gross pt interactions. new protocols that SHOULD be in place for emergencies, and learn about propofol now referred to as "Jackson Juice". Also, I have a rather emotional moment when a ReTeller submits why we're all still feeling overwhelmed at work. Finally, a reminder that, with some patients, you are just never going to win and can we PLEASE talk about the fustration of patient surveys. Enjoy, friends... had a blast with you this week. - M Have something you want to bring up on the show? I want to hear from YOU. Send any submission by DM to Twitter or Facebook. And we're back! My goodness, it's only been one missed week and I missed you guys. Since there wasn't an episode last week, we have a TON to cover and it's just a great time. Michael Jackson even stops by for a minute (true story). We discuss my not-so-educated guess that I'm of Irish descent, work still feeling heavy, and the possibility of 2nd booster doses for patients over 65. Also, there's another variant... and it's stealthy. Some companies are taking down plexiglass, so that's a thing. and, finally, all my CVS listeners are now getting a lunch break and that comes with it's own interesting issues. Enjoy the show, friends! I know I say it every week but I truly can't thank you all enough for your support each and every week. If you have anything you'd like to submit to the show, I'd love to hear it! - submit through Facebook and Twitter DM's. Happy March Madness everyone! Yep, it's officially a thing. Well... it's always been a thing, but now it's a pharmacy thing. No going back now. Things are still nuts, as usual, which is why this regrettably a shorter episode (such a crazy week) but it's a FUN one nevertheless! We get into my addicition with Wordle, the urge to shut down to rude patients, and the possibility of an annual covid shot (what??? I know...) We end it with a brief convo on when the best time of the day to call a pt is and why they shouldn't answer when they're busy. Enjoy! - M Want to vent? Have a fun story for the show? How about covid stuff? I want to hear what's happening in YOUR pharmacy. Connect with the show by shooting me a DM on Facebook and Twitter. Thank you all for your support! Better late than never, right? Right. I definitely got this show out late but it's been one of THOSE weeks... you guys get it. Either way, it's a good one! We've got all the upcoming significant things about March as well as an awesome Tech Of The Week. I spend waaay too much time talking about "Call-In-Sick Guilt" (bc I had to call in sick, but whatever, it's a real thing) and I'm fairly sure I'm contractually obligated to talk about covid updates on each show so that happens. We end it with more stories that make me look like an idiot and a new (unofficial) rule that patients have to follow. Enjoy! Once again, I can't thank all of you ReTellers enough for your continued love and support. Let me know what YOU want to talk about or vent about or whatever... through Twitter and Facebook. ReTellers! We got ourselves a fun one this week that you don't want to miss. We get into how working in retail can give you WAY to easy access to all the junk food (and the time to eat the WHOLE bag) as well as an incredible Dr Of The Week! Oh and I completely vent about our store getting Paxlovid/Molnupiravir. We end it all with that funny thing that happens when a first-dose vaccine pt feels the need to explain why they haven't been vaccinated this entire time. Enjoy! - M Want to submit something to the show? Let me know what YOU want to talk about through DMs on Twitter and Facebook. OMG what a week, y'all. For those who listen the day this drops, my apologies bc this episode is LATE lol. But it's sooo worth it as we get into the last installment of "In The Trenches" and hear from a pharmacist who was in those very trenches, but crawled OUT. I also cover a little covid stuff and talk probably too much at the top of the show (as usual). Enjoy! - M Connect with the show and me through Facebook and Twitter (@ReTellPharmacy) and let me know what's going on in your pharmacy! Thank you to all the ReTellers for your love and support!
Happy February friends. We got ourselves a fun one this week. We get into how patients can really cross the line sometimes (this one is brought to you by a patient interaction with our intern). Following this are a few responses, a great Tech... *ahem* Staff... Of The Week, and, of course, a little covid vaccine news. Saving the best for last, we get into Part 3 of "In The Trenches" where I chat with super-tech Julisa! You don't want to miss this one. Enjoy, friends. Need to vent? I almost did it. I almost made it through an entire episode without my blood pressure and heart rate soaring through the roof. But, alas, we all work retail pharmacy and we're sharing stories so the frustration is bound to happen. Enough with the downer stuff, I'm SO stoked for this week and jumping into part 2 of "In The Trenches" with my boy John. He's an intern and gives us an idea of what it's like In The Trenches while still having school as a top priority. Of course I have to check in with you guys at the top of the show so we get into my potential jinx for covid shots, the omicron vaccine gaining traction, and another pediatric vaccine war story... and so much more. Enjoy, friends. -M As always, please connect with the show through Facebook and Twitter. Your submissions, responses, etc drive each episode! Plus, I love connecting with you all so it's really a win-win situation. Thank you all for your support! Guys. I can't tell you how excited I am to begin the "In The Trenches" series where I get to shut up and hear from YOU. But first, I vent (of course) about how frustrating it can be for prescribers to e-scribe Paxlovid, Molnupiravir, etc without first calling to ask if you have it in stock. We also bring up the news that we might be giving out N95 masks to patients from the government (yay?). And, finally, we begin "In The Trenches" series by talking with fellow pharmacist Sam Sciotti about work before covid vs during covid. We also touch on vaccine appointment strategies at his pharmacy and end it with not one, but TWO patients of the week from Sam himself. It was an honor to talk with a fellow colleague who is with us every day in the trenches. Enjoy! Thank you all once again for your support! Continue to reach out to me through Twitter and Facebook and let me know what YOU want to talk about. If it's happening in your pharmacy, I want to hear about it! This week on the podcast, I'm in a better headspace and we get into SO much including: the snow days in Nashville (basically a vent session), the expectation of giving 200% everyday at work, and more news on this Omicron Variant-specific vaccine. We end with a hilarious patient of the week and that feeling when you're in the middle of a million things and a patient interrupts your tasks to ask a simple OTC question. Remember friends, you're not alone. Thank you guys for all of your love and support each and every week. Keep it up by connecting with me through Twitter and Facebook and let me know what's going on in YOUR pharmacy! Not on those platforms? No worries. Yikes. Not gonna lie, I was a bit on the easily-triggered side this week. I just left work right before recording... you get it. Still, such a great time hanging with you all, as usual! Even though it's a shorter show, we jump into quite a bit including: At-Home Covid Tests... We're Out... Please stop asking. Also, a positive pediatric patient, a few vaccine updates, and that thing patients do when they ask if you have a medication they've seen on a tv commercial but they have NO CLUE what is or even what it's used for. You feel any of that? Yeah, you're not alone my friends. Enjoy. -M Continue to connect with the show, especially during this insane time of the new year. Need to vent? Positive stuff? Patient of the week? Tech of the week? DM's on Twitter and Facebook or email contact@retellpharmacy.com - the ReTellers are the best and I appreciate you all! I can't believe it's the last show of 2021. Let's end the year with a bang, shall we? On the show this week: a sappy thank you from me, prescribers who write "2021" instead of "2022" on prescriptions, and patients who are told rules, laws, etc and try to negotiate around them. Finally, because of the new year, we are all going to face challenges with patients and their insurance... let's talk about a few and maybe some "solutions". Happy New Year, ReTellers! -M Reach out through Facebook and Twitter if you have a response to an episode, patient of the week, tech of the week, etc. After all, you're my cohost :) Check out how you can make true, positive change happen in the lives of your diabetic patient with Pen Needle Ultiguard Safe Pack.
Ho Ho Ho ReTellers! That's right, this week is the Christmas episode! I know some of you will unfortunately have to work on the holiday but please know that you're not alone. First, I spend way too much time talking Christmas movies. Next up, an inspiring response from the ReTell Community and challenges with giving a pediatric vaccine. We touch on when an allergy isn't truly an allergy and, finally, my wish for you and your pharmacy team this year. May this be a wonderful and restful time to celebrate with you and your families. I'm so thankful for you all, Merry Christmas! -M Continue to reach out through the socials (Facebook and Twitter) and let me know what you want to talk about! Response? Patient of the week? Dr of the week? Tech of the week? Covid stuff? I want to hear about it! Don't forget, if you'd like to come on the show for our upcoming "In The Trenches" series, send an approx 60 second video/sound clip to contact@retellpharmacy.com or as DM through the socials!
*EPISODE NOTES TO BE ADDED SHORTLY*
Got a quicker one this week but still... such a great time - This week on the show: staying motivated through the chaos, 16 and 17 year old boosters, and 4th dose talks already??? We also discuss how some patients want the vaccine to hurt and, finally, what's the oldest rx you've encountered on the job? Reach out through Twitter and Facebook to let me know what you want to talk about! After all, you're my co-host and your submissions drive each and every episode :) Don't forget, if you want to be on the show for our upcoming "In The Trenches" series, send a 60 second video/audio clip to contact@retellpharmacy.com letting me know what type of pharmacy you work in, job title, etc. You can also send the video through the socials! Thank you all for your love and support, happy holidays. -M
Just when I think it will be a shorter episode, I forget how fun it is to hang (and vent) with you all. Also, let's be honest, you guys really brought the fire this week with your submissions. On this early December episode we cover how 2021 went by faster than any other year, I debut a new sound effect, and take a moment to thank YOU for your support and love sent my way via Spotify Wrapped. Also, there's a new variant in town... and it honestly sounds like a robot. We end with realizing that Oklahoma and Louisiana are, in fact, NOT the same state and how it would be so nice if patients had basic decency. Enjoy! Love the show? Want to be ON IT?? Send an approx 60 second video to contact@retellpharmacy.com or DM it through the socials telling me who you are, why you want to be on the show, etc. You could be featured in our upcoming "In The Trenches" series! Facebook and Twitter is how to connect with the show: patients of the week, covid stuff, responses, etc. I love hearing from you all and it drives each and every episode so keep it up! Don't forget to check out Pen Needle Ultiguard Safe Pack to learn how you can make real, positive change happen in the lives of your patients. Merry Christmas and keep fighting, M
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas... as well as the end of our sanity. This week on the show we cover so much like impersonating your pts, those who are getting a vaccine and only roll their sleeve up to their elbow, and covid boosters officially being approved for all adults (hence the end-of-our-sanity comment). We also talk a creeper patient of the week at my pharmacy, several of yours (which never disappoint) and end with me venting that I'm getting old. Such a fun time hanging with you guys, enjoy! Keep your submissions coming as DMs, comments, etc through Facebook and Twitter (and don't forget to let me know with each submission if you'd like to be anonymous) We are still accepting submissions for our upcoming "In The Trenches" mini-series where I have YOU on the show. Send a one minute video (or sound clip if you have to) via the socials or to contact@retellpharmacy.com explaining who you are, why you'd like to be on the show, etc. I said it on the show this week, but one major thing I'm thankful for is YOU. The ReTell Community is unmatched and you guys mean the world to me. Keep fighting. -M Check out Ultimed's Pen Needle Ultiguard Safe Pack to see how you can be an agent of true, positive change in the lives of your patients!
And we're back! So so great to hang with you all again after missing last week. Because it's been a minute, we have so much to cover this week: why do covid-positive patients come TO THE PHARMACY?? I also vent about a pediatric vaccine nightmare-level situation and we talk some BIG covid news: 2 new medications on the horizon to treat this stupid virus aaaand potential boosters for ALL adults coming soon. Like, really soon. Another day, another procrastination week for yours truly. I'm actually excited for how much we were able to cover on the show considering I was racing against time having to head into work. But you guys brought the heat AGAIN this week, as usual. We get into a jabber vs. shooter response (apparently, it's a thing??), techs as pharmacy managers, Pfizer approved for ages 5-11 *insert scream sound*, and a PHARMACIST OF THE WEEK. This actually coincides with potentially one of the worst patient interactions I've heard on the show, btw. It's sure to get your BP and HR rising, if you're like me. Enjoy, friends! Until next time, keep fighting. Reach out to me through Twitter and Facebook to let me know what you want to talk about! Now that Pfizer is approved for ages 5-11, there are sure to be some stories and I'd love to hear it. Thank you all for your continued submissions, love, and support. -M Be sure to checkout Pen Needle Ultiguard Safe Pack to see how you can make real, positive change happen in the lives of your patients!
Warning: This episode may contain scary, terrifying, and/or spine-chilling content... it's not for the faint of heart. That's right friends, grab your costumes and candy buckets, it's the Halloween episode! We get into all things spooky this week including all boosters + mix/match of boosters being approved (scary enough by itself), whether you're a jabber or a shooter when giving a vaccine, and a personal patient of the week that is sure to make the hair on the back of your neck stand up. We celebrate the end of October and end with the SCARIEST things that can happen at the beginning of a pharmacy shift. Enjoy! Continue to reach out through Facebook and Twitter for any responses, patients of the week, vaccine woes, etc. You have to vent? I want to hear it! Remember, you're not alone. -M Check out how you can be an agent for positive change in the lives of your patients with Pen Needle Ultiguard Safe Pack!
Deep breaths, everyone. We're definitely in the thick of it right now. Covid vaccines, boosters, flu shots, and new additional boosters/age range extensions on the horizon. I feel the heaviness too so, trust me, you're NOT alone. This week on the show - my million dollar idea to make patients nicer, discussing national pharmacy week (yay?), and me being way too excited that it's getting cold outside. Also, remember the feeling of giving your first vaccine? Scary, right? Yeah, me too. Finally, some patients come to the pharmacy and stand too far away. Why do they do this?? Let's talk about it. Enjoy, friends! You can always connect with me and the show through Facebook and Twitter if you have a patient of the week, need to vent, have a response, feedback, etc - whatever it is, I want to hear it! You're all the best, I truly appreciate you all for your support. -M Don't forget to learn how you can make true, positive change happen in the lives of your diabetic patients with Pen Needle Ultiguard Safe Pack!
What a fun one this week. So much to get to.... yet I feel like this was one of those episodes where staying on track was a challenge lol. I blame vacation brain but hey, either way, we had a great time. This week we jump into a ton: How early you like to get to work on average, the "dark cloud" of vacation, Moderna Booster news (it's commmming!) and the unfortunate event of giving a patient an expired covid vaccine. We end it with a bit of a patient/pharmacy mystery and the basic, yet oh so true statement, that patients often just say/do the STRANGEST things. Enjoy. To keep this show going, I need you (yes, YOU) to let me know what you want to talk about, discuss, vent, etc - connect with me and the show through Twitter and Facebook. Thank you all so much again for your continued support! Keep fighting. -M Finally, check out how you can make real, positive change in the lives of your patients with Pen Needle Ultiguard Safepack.
Welp, it's another one of those early-morning-shorter-episode type of weeks. But you get it, right? We're all SO insanely busy... but I couldn't let that stop us from hanging out. I mean there's just too much to talk about, like: how early you wake up for work, American Pharmacists Month (which I totally knew about btw) and a possible 2022 covid vaccine. Patients often have interesting answers about what they're allergic to and other patients... well, let's be honest, they can be too talkative. The question is, what do you do about it? It's another fun one this week... enjoy, friends! -M Don't forget to follow the show on Twitter and like on Facebook to keep up with the latest and greatest of the show (and use these to DM me anything YOU want to talk about ,respond to, etc) It's always a good time to make real, positive change happen in the lives of our patients. We do it everyday at work, right?. Well, be sure to check out Pen Needle Ultiguard Safe Pack to see how you can make a huge difference in the lives of your diabetic patients!
I'm so glad I have this show and you guys to vent to, if I'm honest. However, this week, I try my best to keep it positive... but probably fail miserably as usual. Where were you when you received the "magical" email stating you were officially live with booster doses? We also jump into booster dose side effects, the dream of cloning your techs, a covid pill coming soon, and patients arguing with you about what street your pharmacy is on. We end it all with a gameshow: Name That Refill! It's been a blast as usual with you all. Please continue to connect with me and the show and let me know what you want to talk about: Facebook and Twitter. Keep fighting friends. -M Check out how you can be an agent for true, positive change in the lives of your patients with Pen Needle Ultiguard Safe Pack!
Does it feel like each week at work is tougher than the week before? I feel it, too. You're not alone. This week on the show: patients who don't say "thank you", vaccinating children from age 5 to 11, FDA to approve booster doses for larger % of the population, an awesome Tech Of The Week and a hilarious Patient Of The Week (as usual). Finally, sometimes we often feel like patient's don't deserve our help. Let's talk about it... and more. You guys seriously rock my world, each and every week... with all of your submissions, feedback, etc. Please keep it up through Twitter and Facebook. Keep fighting, my friends. - M Check out how you can make a true, positive impact in the lives of your patients with Ultimed's Pen Needle Ultiguard Safe Pack!
Alright, so I *may* have been a little triggered this week. Maybe it's just the season/year we're in and all that we're being asked to do. Either way, I wasn't the most positive on this one and, you know what, that's okay. This week I rant about so many things including a new ridiculous OTC product, being the immunocompromised police (if a pt can get a 3rd dose or not) and two dr's with a god complex. We do get a little positive though: It's Fall! and I have a tech that can immunize! All in all, a really fun one you guys... enjoy. Connect with the show (me) through Facebook and Twitter and let me know what YOU want to talk about. - M Don't forget to check out how you can make real, positive change in the lives of your patients by choosing Pen Needle Ultiguard Safe Pack!
Hey friends. Are you STILL completely exhausted? Feeling like there's no end in sight and it's about to get WORSE?? *Sigh* You're not alone, trust me. It's a heavy time right now in our profession, no doubt about it. This week on the show we talk about how this insane season we find ourselves in can really show you if retail is what you truly want to do. Also, I talk WAY too much about fantasy football (I know), ask the question "how do you tend to use your PTO?", and reminisce of the days when we only had to worry about flu shots this time of year. Finally, if your CEO worked a week in your pharmacy, what would happen? Thank you all so much for continuing to submit your patients of the week, responses, feedback, etc. Keep it up through Facebook and Twitter. No, seriously, I can't do this show without you. -M Discover how you can make true, lasting, positive change in the lives of your patients with Pen Needle Ultiguard Safe Pack!
*Yawn* brought my coffee with me this morning and, since the last week of my personal life have been somewhat of a roller coaster, it's a bit shorter episode than usual. I may not have as much energy this time around but lucky for me, I have the ReTell Community and you guys NEVER disappoint. On the show this week, the idea of your DM actually having your back and being supportive (crazy, right??) and an awesome Tech Of The Week that literally goes out of their way for their patient. Finally, we're still getting "tricked" into 3rd doses... could there be legal ramifications? Enjoy, friends! Want to connect with the show? Need to vent? Let me know what you want to talk about through Twitter and Facebook. Keep fighting friends! -M Oh and check out how YOU as a pharmacist, intern OR tech can be a true agent for positive change in the lives of our patients with Ultimed's Pen Needle Ultiguard Safe Pack.
Friends! So glad you joined me for another week of pharmacy goodness. There's a TON to cover this week including: me whining about losing my intern, a wonderful Tech Of The Week, the full FDA approval of the Pfizer vaccine, and my simultaneous disapproval of it's new name Comirnaty. Also, vaccine mandates have been announced for CVS pharmacy employees... what're your thoughts? I get to revisit my biggest annoyance = a dr with a god complex. And, finally, the landscape of pharmacy has shifted to FULL ON SURVIVAL MODE. Are you feeling this? You're not alone. Thank you all for continuing to support the show! Reach out through Facebook and Twitter to let me know what YOU want to talk about. The ReTell Community is the best, I love you all. -M Don't forget to check out Ultimed's Pen Needle Ultiguard Safe Pack to see how you can make real positive change for your patients!
Friends. Comrades. The time draws near. Third doses are already upon us and it seems it will be available to everyone in the next 30 days. Feeling down? Already defeated? No energy left to give? You're not alone. This week, we get into 3rd doses, of course, but also the idea that it's okay to not be okay... and I throw in some self help tips that have helped me through the past year and a half. We also get into some shenanigans around vaccination cards and some hilarious Patients Of The Week. Finally, sometimes you help a patient with something easy, like obtaining a refill... and now you've become their pharmacy savior. Continue to connect with the show through Facebook and Twitter to let me know your patient/dr/tech of the week, response, covid frustrations, etc. Thank you all so much for your support! -M Ultimed is striving to make positive change in the lives of our patients, just like us. My heart was so sad, having to miss last week. But boy did YOU guys make up for it. In this make-up, jam packed episode full of pharmacy madness... we get into the following, just to name a few: an embarrassing story about me studying for the NAPLEX, if YOU think we'll have more or less flu vaccines this year, how sooo many patients are deciding to call the police on us (seriously??), and getting tricked into giving a patient a 3rd covid dose. We round it all out with the idea of standing your ground with some patients when you know you're in the right and a fantastic, wonderfully positive reminder at the end of why we do what we do... to help our patients. Such a great time this week, friends. Thank you again for making this show possible each and every week. Ohhh MAN, this episode has it all: a quick celebration that July is over, flu shots on the horizon (I know)... oh and I whine waaay too much about the heat and a possible 3rd dose IN THE MIDDLE OF FLU SHOT SEASON. Also, masks are back... so there's that. We have not one, but two Drs Of The Week. Spoiler, one is awful and the other is fantastic. Finally, some patients really give you the business and decide to apologize later for it. That's so great!... or is it? :) Thank you all sooo much for your continued support of the show through rates, reviews, telling your coworkers about the show, submissions, etc. Please continue to connect with me through Twitter and Facebook so you, and everyone else, can know that you're not alone. Seriously?? How is this happening? Well this week I obviously spend most of the episode celebrating and thanking you all. We also get into pharmacy things like patients thinking we have a magic number to reach their prescriber and a patient who actually called the police on their pharmacy (what??) Lastly, we take a trip down memory lane and listen to a few clips of the FIRST episode of the show... mostly so I can make fun of myself. I'm truly blown away by your love, support, submissions, etc. I never EVER thought this silly show would ever go for 3 years and 150 episodes, and here we are... and it's all thanks to YOU. The ReTell Community rocks my world, no kidding. Thank you all so much. This week on the show we talk horror movies (yay or nay?), the Delta-Plus Variant (ugh) and what I'm looking forward to when covid's over. Also, when transferring an rx, the pharmacy filling the rx typically initiates the transfer... but is this how it should be? Finally, we've all had reeeally interesting things happen while giving a covid vaccine, let's discuss a few :) Thank you all once again for connecting with the show!
