This sermon from Mark 14:53–72 was preached on May 17, 2026 by Aubrey Sequeira as part of the sermon series "The Good News of Jesus Christ."
Christ Community Church, was an evangelical church located on Bainbridge Island in Washington state. In December of 1997, the church community hit a sweet spot. Many of the congregants were having babies at the same time and raising kids around the same age. For Dawn Hacheney and her husband, Nick, they believed they were right where they needed to be. But early one morning, underneath the pines and walkable hometown roads, lurked something really dark; festering in the last place anyone would ever expect it.Instagram: @CousinsonCrimePodcastEmail: CousinsonCrime@gmail.comTheme Music by AleXZavesaJoin our Patreon! https://www.patreon.com/CousinsOnCrimeCheck out our merch store! https://cousinsoncrime-shop.fourthwall.com/?Sources:Book A Twisted Faith: A Minister's Obsession and the Murder that Destroyed a ChurchDateline: Twisted Faithhttps://sustainabilityinprisons.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Real-change-compost-program-MCC-10-4-17.pdfhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ucS0a5fjRvc
At the 2026 Calvary Chapel South women's conference, Martha Sutton teaches on trials, identity, and trusting God, helping listeners consider what adversity reveals about who we are and whose we are. Drawing from James 1:12 and passages in 1 Peter, Romans, and Daniel, she points to the steady hope found in knowing God personally and responding to trials with a settled trust in Him.
At the 2026 Calvary Chapel South women's conference, Janel Greig teaches on how God uses trials to refine faith, emphasizing the importance of anchoring our beliefs in truth rather than emotions. Drawing from passages such as 1 Peter 1:6–7, James 1:2–4, Romans 5:3–5, and examples like Job, she explains how biblical apologetics strengthens trust in God's character and promises through seasons of grief, loss, and uncertainty, pointing to a lasting hope grounded in the truth of the gospel.
Lisa Williams teaches on faith, praise, and full surrender to the Lord, even in the midst of deep trials. Through Scripture and personal testimony, she reminds us that God uses hardship to refine our hearts, strengthen our trust in His Word, and draw us into deeper dependence on Him.
Historically, Christians have experienced persecution & suffering. According to Scripture, our persecution & suffering has been, is currently & will be ongoing into the future. Fortunately, God's plan of salvation, executed through Jesus, has guaranteed our salvation. What this means is that this world may persecute us to suffer, even to the point of death, but we have hope of a future which is something this world could never strip away. Join us for our sermon "Trial by Fire" from 1 Peter 4:12-19, where we'll be encouraged in our eternal security, despite our current sufferings.

1. SpaceX's First Falcon 1 Attempt: A Tropical Trial by Fire Guest Eric Berger discusses the first launch of SpaceX's Falcon 1 in March 2006. To bypass regulatory delays in California, the team moved operations to Omalik Island in the Pacific. Key personnel, including Hans Koenigman and launch director Tim Buzza, oversaw the attempt to reach orbit using the Merlin engine. The launch failed after thirty seconds when a corroded bolt caused a fuel leak and fire. Although the rocket crashed back onto the island, the team viewed the failure as a vital source of real-world data for future improvements. (1)october 1939

Send a textA fourth-generation story rarely follows a straight line, and George Weaver IV proves it. From sneaking into trade shows as a kid and napping under booth tables to helping steer a 90-person team, George invites us into a family business that measures success by people, not just pallets. He shares how his dad's stroke pushed him into responsibility early, what it took to rebuild with humility, and why Westfield Egg Farm chose a model that keeps small family farms alive by letting growers own their birds, feed, and barns. We dig into the craft of specialty eggs—think quail, duck, and heirloom blue—and why small-batch, high-precision packing is both maddening and magical. George explains how that complexity becomes a strength under pressure, especially during avian influenza, when diversified flocks and flexible schedules spread risk without collapsing supply. Strategy here is purpose-led: hire for character, train for skill, and make space for prayer and conviction when the “smart” move clashes with the right move. It's culture as a daily practice, not a poster on the wall.George also opens up about imposter syndrome, the myth that every young leader must plant their own flag, and the harder path of adding value to a mature, multigenerational foundation. We talk practical tools like Working Genius to map strengths and reduce friction, the shepherd's balance between protecting a team and pushing it to grow, and how prison ministry reshaped his view of dignity, hiring, and the stories behind every resume. If you care about agriculture, family business, resilient supply chains, values-based leadership, or integrating faith at work, this conversation will stick.Subscribe for more founder stories and real-world leadership playbooks, share this episode with someone building a legacy, and leave a review to help others find the show. A stark assessment of demographic decline, surging debt, currency vulnerabilities, and immigration without assimilation as converging threats to American stability. Kevin Freeman outlines how “red, green, blue, and yellow” forces exploit debt, dollar attacks, CBDC, wealth gaps, and falling birth rates to pressure U.S. institutions. The discussion highlights coordinated strategies — from CCP migration tactics to Islamist hijrah and globalist policies — framed as an endgame against national sovereignty. A call to understand and counter systemic pressures before they cement irreversible change.
The teenagers who made up the US Naval Academy class of 1940 arrived in Annapolis as boys on the eve of Hitler's aggression and graduated as Europe collapsed, only to find themselves thrust into every major front of World War II, from Pearl Harbor to Tokyo Bay and Normandy. Renowned military historian Craig Symonds joins David M. Rubenstein to discuss the young men's sacrifice, loss, and extraordinary coming-of-age in history's deadliest conflict.Recorded on November 24, 2025
America's birth rate has fallen below replacement, fueling a vicious cycle of aging, debt strain, and widening wealth gaps. Kevin Freeman connects monetary policy, inflation, cultural shifts, and environmental factors to delayed marriage, fewer children, and long-term national fragility. He outlines solutions centered on affordability, sound money, faith and family renewal, and community-based economic support. This installment sets the stage for the final segment on immigration and assimilation.
Kevin Freeman connects soaring debt, fiat money, and financialization to America's widening wealth gap, tracing its roots back to 1971. He outlines how cronyism, big government, and global power blocs exacerbate inequality and destabilize society. Historical case studies show why socialist “solutions” entrench elites while harming the middle and working classes. Actionable remedies focus on smaller government, true free markets, and honest money anchored to tangible value.

Discover how soaring debt, a coordinated dollar assault, and rapid CBDC adoption could consolidate financial power and erode economic freedom. Hear admissions from BIS, IMF, and WEF leaders on programmability, unified ledgers, and policy-conditioned money — and why this threatens privacy and liberty. Explore the risks of private “shadow CBDC” stablecoins, the push toward cashless systems, and how social credit-like controls could spread through banking. Learn state-level alternatives, including cash protections and gold and silver “pirate money,” as opt-outs to centralized control.
Kevin Freeman outlines how mounting debt, geopolitical alliances, and de-dollarization efforts threaten U.S. reserve currency status — and what that could mean for inflation, markets, and everyday Americans. He traces the dollar's arc from Bretton Woods to Nixon's closure of the gold window, the petrodollar, and today's multipolar finance led by BRICS. The analysis details coordinated pressure from communist, Islamist, and globalist actors, plus domestic failures — framing a potential sequence from bond sell-offs to hyperinflation. Practical mitigations include disciplined fiscal policy and strategic gold initiatives at the state and personal levels.
America faces coordinated threats — communism, Islamism, global governance, and internal betrayal — converging with an unsustainable national debt nearing $40 trillion. Kevin Freeman outlines seven critical truths about debt, from who holds it to why spending cuts, asset sales, or taxing billionaires won't fix the trajectory. He explains why monetization, unfunded liabilities, and entrenched interests amplify risk, and he proposes managed inflation, productivity growth, deregulation, and sound money as the only viable paths forward. This first installment sets the foundation for the Six Trials by Fire and the urgent need for political will and practical safeguards.
Houston trial lawyer R. James Amaro joins host Mirena Umizaj Dumas to discuss what it takes to grow and sustain a high-performing personal injury practice. From the BP litigation and its financial fallout to tripling his firm during COVID, James shares the lessons learned from rebuilding under pressure while keeping client advocacy at the center. They explore: • Thriving through COVID by doubling down • Growing to nearly 100 team members and a headquarters bearing his name • The risks of mass torts and "mass tort PTSD" • Private equity, AI, and what's ahead for law firm owners • Building a family through IVF while running a fast-paced firm • Staying grounded in faith, service, and fiercely protecting clients A candid conversation about resilience, leadership, and the future of trial work. About Our Guest: R. James Amaro is a nationally recognized Houston trial lawyer and the founder of the Amaro Law Firm, which he established in 2005 after beginning his career in insurance defense. Since then, he has represented thousands of individuals and businesses in personal injury, commercial litigation, and insurance disputes, including major cases following Hurricane Ike and the BP Deepwater Horizon Spill. James brings experience shaped by engineering and entrepreneurship, along with federal judicial writing during law school. Episode 82 In this episode, we follow the fallout of the Cameron Todd Willingham case — a story that didn't end at the execution chamber. When fire scientist Dr. Gerald Hurst sounded the alarm that the arson evidence used to convict Willingham was based on junk science, Texas had a choice: pause and reevaluate, or push forward and protect its image. It chose the latter. We'll unpack how political pressure and flawed forensics collided, how the Texas Forensic Science Commission became a battleground for truth, and how one governor's ambition may have buried accountability for good. We'll also examine how the echoes of this case continue today — through the fight to apply the state's Junk Science Law, and the ongoing battle to win a fair trial for Robert Roberson, another man condemned by discredited science. Because justice isn't just about verdicts — it's about what we do after we know the truth. Help Stop Robert Roberson's Execution!!! Click here to sign the petition! Take The Dirty Dozen, populate with supervillains and obscure DC characters, and plug them into Mission: Impossible-style plots. This is the recipe that John Ostrander and Luke McDonnell used to launch Suicide Squad, a series that takes place in the same mainstream post-Crisis DC Universe inhabited by Superman, Wonder Woman, and Green Lantern, but takes a very different look at the place of superhumans in it, while also casting a suspicious eye on Cold War-era U.S. interventionism. We'll discuss how Ostrander spun this series out of little more than a name recycled from the Silver Age, his working method with McDonnell, and one of this run's most enduring legacies in the DCU: Amanda Waller.
